“It’s going to look like you’re a big brother shopping for his little sister while she’s at school. But it doesn’t matter anyway, because it’s nobody else’s business.” Marilla smiled inwardly as she gave Cole a pat on the arm and then proceeded down the children’s aisle. It was funny– just a month ago she probably would have told him he was clueless and then snapped at him to leave her alone. Now, she didn’t want to expend that mental energy just for the sake of being nasty. And besides, it was sort of cute how he got himself all flustered for the sake of making Cecily happy. He obviously cared about her so much. “Do you know what she wants to dress up as? Or what size she is?”
“Is-is it?” he asks, sounding amused but not convinced. Though once upon a time, he was generally fairly oblivious to how other people perceived him, that didn’t remain true. Perhaps they judged him more, now, checking out with Princess themed toys and fruit roll ups. He bites his lip, “W-well, she, um, she has-hasn’t properly decided, um,” he pauses, “Like, uh, it-it depends? I-I mean, um, probably a s-six or-or, um, a small? I th-think I have, like, a rough id-idea of how, um, how big she is, an-and I can f-fix it if-if needs be. Th-thank you, though, I-I promise, um, I’m n-not totally hopeless. I-I’m just gl-glad Cyrus d-doesn’t wanna dr-dress up as-as well.”
“I-I don’t,” he pauses as they approach the children’s aisle, “Is-is this, um, is th-this going to look w-weird? I sh-should’ve br-brought her but, um, school an-and,” he clears his throat, looking towards Marilla a bit helplessly.

18: Talk about something that happened in school.
“O-oh!” Cole says excitedly before pausing, “Well, um, I-I used to r-run D&D games from th-the dorm-dormitories, we enchanted th-the pieces to-to move at-at the command of-of their, uh, l-like of wh-who they re-represented - they m-moved when we-we spoke. Th-that was quite f-fun!”
32: Talk about a place you remember from your childhood.
“Wh-when Cyrus was, uh, f-first born we-we took him d-down to th-this little l-lake near my-my house an-and f-fed ducks. I-I had s-some photos of-of him w-waddling a-around there. It-it was pretty c-cute,” Cole says with a smile.
33: Talk about what you do when you are sad.
“U-uh, well, I-I might go-go back to work,” Cole says with a shrug, “B-but if th-that’s making me-me sad, I’ll, um, I’ll t-talk to th-the kids, or-or we’ll play v-video g-games. Sometimes j-just, um, if it-it’s too bad or-or something I-I just l-lay out on-on the floor an-and feel, um, gravity en-enacting on me? Is-is that, um, does th-that make sense?”

“Maybe not difficult so much as… odd? I think that’s the better word. There were so many little adjustments I had to make, and things that I just find strange.” Stanislaus thought back on his first days in New York. He was lucky in that he already had several connections in the new country; he couldn’t imagine what it would be like to relocate without anyone to talk to or explain all of the United States’ quirks and customs to him. Even with that help, there were things he still just didn’t understand. Stannes laughed, “It still confuses me how they measure things here, and how they add tax to items after giving you the price. And I don’t think I’ll ever get used to reading the temperature in Farenheit.”
Cole nods as he listens to the other, brushing his fingers through Cecily’s hair as he retains fleeting eye contact. “Oh, oh, yeah,” Cole says with a soft laugh, “N-no, I-I don’t th-think I’m g-going to get th-that either. Um, I-I’m sure y-you could g-get used to it-it,” he says, looking down at Cecily. “I just don’t worry about the temperature,” she insists as Cole laughs, “I-I’m sure you w-will come s-summer,” he notes. “We-we didn’t re-really have, um, that m-much exposure to it-it all, out-outside of m-movies an-and TV. I-I wasn’t entirely s-sure what to-to expect f-from the wix at-at all. I-I mean,” he clears his throat, glancing down at Cecily, “I-I knew th-things were st-strained b-but, um, yeah, e-even more th-than I-I expected.”
“No, no kids as of right now. Maybe someday,” Stannes said, smiling and giving a little shrug. He wasn’t completely sure if having a family was on his to-do list. He thought it would be nice to settle down someday, but it wasn’t really on his mind in the meantime. “I think your accent is really cute,” he told Cecily. “People used to make fun of mine too, when I first came to the states. But I’ve always thought it just made me unique.” He gave her a little wink.
Cole nods at the statement and offers a small smile, “Y-yeah, same,” he says with a soft laugh. After all, Cole did want kids, but that would naturally have to wait a while. Cecily flushes and laughs, “It’s good to be different,” she nods, “I think it’s nice,” she says as she leans into Cole’s leg. He laughs and musses her hair, “I-I think it-it’s been a-a tiny b-bit hard on-on the k-kids ad-adjusting to-to the States b-but, um, did-did you, uh, did you find it-it difficult?”

fiicndfyre:
Parts of Hogwarts Thora preferred to bury deep in the past, finding forgetting the worst of it, the easiest of solutions, others she enjoyed to keep close in the back of her mind. The same went for faces both from and outside of Hogwarts, Cole, fortunately was one he didn’t mind to see wandering about, a small smile caressing her features as she came closer. “ Hey there, it’s great to see you too.” She replied, doing her best to maintain a calm face despite the stench of vomit. “ I’m fine, is she alright?” Thora asked, gesturing to the younger girl, already reaching into the depths of her bag in search of the wipes she always kept on her person. “ A ride gone wrong?” she added in assumption.
Cecily stands and wipes at her mouth with the back of her hand as she leans against Cole’s leg, “I’m okay,” she says softly as Cole extends his hand with the pill. She takes it and swallows it, groaning, “Y-yea, we, um, we-we went on the z-zipper, um, I-I guess it was a-a bit much,” he says. He clears his throat as he steps back from the scene, drawing his wand to vanish the sick. Cecily’s eyes grow wide with wonder, “Wow,” she whispers, though clearly is still feeling a bit ill, “Magic is so cool,” she whispers as Cole laughs. “I-I’m sorry, uh, how-how, uh,” he shakes his head, “Wh-what brings y-you to A-America? I mean, um, is-is it, uh, a v-visit or-or are you living here t-too?”
