Do you need anything else?
Actually... I have a 32 year old male down in the ER. He came in with a severe migraine stating that he has had one everyday for the last week a week. Apparently Ibuprofen gave him no relief, so I administered almotriptan, and fluids, then left him with a cloth laying over his eyes to cancel out the light. I haven't noticed any speech, or movement abnormalities.. but then I figured maybe that a medication he was already on could be causing the migraine, but his chart says he is on no other medication... so I double checked and asked him but got the same dead end ...I realize migraines are something that happen in everyday life but the fact Ibuprofen didn't even help him raises some red flags in my eyes. I know I'm just an intern, so I thought I would get a second opinion before I have to send him on his way. Do you think running tests are an option here, or should I get started on the discharge papers? [She handed the attending the second chart she had in her arms]
