History… When Colette was a girl, everything was handed to her on a silver platter. However, she was always grateful for what she had because she knew both her parents had to work for it. Her mother was born in Nice, France in the particularly worst part of the city. She had gotten into bad habits, an addiction to meth surfacing when she was fourteen. Emily, had gotten pregnant at sixteen only to have had the child miscarried, a feat that somewhat hindered Colette’s relationship with her mother. To get away from herself more than anything, Emily fled to New York City in hopes to start over with a new life, but her addiction was still apparent and worsened once she reached the states. However, she met her husband Jonathan while at a party and it was him who helped her get clean. John ended up becoming a very successful plastic surgeon and their story went from rags to riches in the sweetest way.Â
Several years after being sober, Emily and John got married and had Colette, their token of their love as they liked to refer to her. Colette was theatrical as a child, taking enjoyment in dancing and singing. There was not a moment Colette wasn’t always babbling around the mansion. She talked about nothing to both of her parents and nannies, and when she grew up she had an aura of mystery wrapped around her. Her mother had always warned her that addiction could be genetic, and Colette decided to find out for herself. She never did crack like her mother, but she couldn’t help but dabble in all sorts of substances as a teenager.Â
She quickly had dropped the act, deciding to only smoke weed when she had turned eighteen and had gotten accepted into NYU. She moved out and lived nearby the campus in a luxurious loft her parents had paid for. Her parents had always believed to give Colette whatever she wanted since they had both been through so much as children themselves. One night, when Colette was drunk with a couple of her friends at a karaoke bar, she was addressed by Klaus Thieval. He had heard about her and her mother and how she had taken several self-defense classes as a child. He had found her interesting enough and she decided to go with him, not expecting the worst.Â
When she had awaken on the island, she wasn’t alarmed. She simply thought of it as a new adventure. And when she was greeted with the strange hospitality of the Institute, she decided to become loyal. Especially with her new set of powers. She always did have a tendency to be grateful after all. to Colette, her new life is an island resort instead of hell.
Now… While sneaking around the files room one day, Colette had found out her father had agreed to let Colette go to the Institute if she had decided to once she was eighteen. The terms were that they must provide her with the upmost respect and him and his wife financial security even if things didn’t work out. She resented her father slightly and understood why Klaus had went to her while she was drunk, however she isn’t too annoyed. In fact, she finds a power over the staff members since they must treat her right or else she could easily escape.Â
Personality… Colette enjoys to appear as mysterious. She can be very snarky to anyone who bothers her and she’s always making sure she is heard, especially if she disagrees with something. She doesn’t care much to listen to other people’s problems and she has a tendency to be very selfish and vindictive. She’s learned to think for herself and her survival, and as far as she knows being loyal is the best way to live comfortably.Â
Powers… Colette was mutated with witchcraft mimicry. She isn’t a born witch, but she holds the same powers as one would have. However, she can’t just snap her fingers and have something happen unless it’s for minor things, like making her dress appear to her. Because of this, she learned all of her spells thanks to Gillian’s bookshop. She grew an interest in the Dark Arts, which she has perfected in. She’s limited by her own mind, however when she does cast a spell it can be very powerful.
