About a year ago I decided that I wanted to start taking art classes. I had never drawn as a kid and basically started from scratch at the age of 27. I found a local studio that mainly teaches kids but also has a few adult students. I've been going there twice a week and have been trying to take art more seriously. This was originally supposed to be a blog to monitor and record my progress, but I haven't been great about posting my work. Going forward I want to change that and record the good and the bad of the journey. So to start off with here are my two latest projects from my art class.

Finished this piece! Referencing another of Filip Mroz's gorgeous Toronto streetscapes (did he take this out the front window of his car???) and indulging in a lot of nostalgia for king street of yore and streetcars of yore and so forth.

Also, that cobalt blue sky! One of my absolute favourite types of light, everything is so richly saturated and yet values are much subtler. Pure magic.

Some buildings I designed in Earth 50101 Mumbattan for Across the Spider-Verse. The ink linework was based on classic Indian Indrajal comics. These buildings are also Modular using a system designed by Aymeric Kevin
