This morning I was waiting for an elevator with a little girl. I have memorized the mechanical sounds and know exactly where it is based on the noises it makes, so just before it opened, I waved my hands over it and commanded it to open. She looked at me with her mouth hanging open and asked, “How did you do that?!”

“Technomancy,” I said. “I’m a machine wizard.” I just saw her again while she was complaining about a computer she was using being frozen. As I put my hand on it, it started working again, completely coincidentally.

The look she gave me was one of stunned reverence.
