ATTENTION ALL AUSTRALIANS

As we all know, we face an upcoming postal vote on marriage equality. Due to the sheer anger and frustration of this unecessary beauracracy, many have urged those voting Yes to send their vote back packaged with glitter bombs or rainbow confetti in protest.

DO NOT DO THIS!!

Your vote will likely be destroyed and therefore not counted. And arguing that “glitter isnt dangerous” doesnt mean shit to people who just see a foreign substance detected and immeadiately assume the worst (Anthrax anyone??)

If you won’t take my word, at least take MP Claire O'Neil’s, who was asked:

PLEASE, do not fuck up this crutial vote for everyone by being stupid and getting your voice dismissed like this. Put stickers on the envelope, draw rainbows on it, if you must protest in this way be smart about it.

Even if you’re not Australian, you’d be doing us a solid to spread the word, since unfortunately a lot of younger voters still think this is a good idea when its literally the opposite.

prayersforemilyjanelle Got to meet @chriscolfer before we were discharged, we are now at home, she fell asleep as soon as we hit the car and has been sleeping since, they gave her Keppra and that seems to be making her sleepy. Her surgery is scheduled for next tuesday, they asked if we can get some blood donors in, she is O+ its short notice so in order for her to use the donated blood and have enough time to radiate it it has to be done ASAP and no later than Friday 8/18/17 her blood type is the least donated, I have one person donating already but could use more, blood is always needed. Thank you all for all the love. We appreciate it, we will make the best of this weekend before her surgery have a blessed night. #ChrisColfer

i know this isnt aesthetics but THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!

i got an email from my mother (who is bi and proud) about this. australians will have 14 days to register to vote in the same-sex marriage postal vote. this means everyone needs to get on the electoral roll or check their enrolment is correct ASAP! students like myself are particularly likely to not be enrolled or have incorrect details on the electoral roll.

so if you are australian and you are over 18, please dear god, make sure you are on the electoral roll! if you are already enrolled, make sure your details are correct and up to date!

even if you arent australian, i would REALLY appreciate if you spread this!

im australian and i cannot marry my current partner without same-sex marriage being legal. i know without a doubt there are many other australians who are also unable to marry their partners too.
