Nike Air Max Zero - Colin Kaepernick - Air Max Day

Kevin Cheung suffered neck and spinal trauma from a ski accident at Squaw Valley Ski Resort in Olympic Valley, California. He was skiing in the Gold Coast terrain park when he overshot and over-rotated on a jump. Kevin tore his transverse ligament and suffered burst fractures of his c1, c5, t4, t5, and t6 which left him as a tetraplegic. Kevin was taken via life flight from right under the Gold Coast lift to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, where he immediately went into surgery to stabilize/repair fractures to his vertebrae. Kevin then underwent two additional surgeries for his neck. He was then medically transported to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado where he is currently undergoing rehabilitation. He is awaiting another surgery for his c1.

I think one of the amazing things about having such a successful page is how many people I am capable of reaching. For that reason I am sharing this link. It is not related to my blog at all, but I want all 76k followers to see this and to be able to help if possible. I went to school with both of these brothers who have always been nothing but kind to everyone they have encountered. Their family has been through such a hard time as of late. If you can’t donate, please please please reblog this to give it a power boost. I know everyone has their own troubles, but this is close to home for me and I want to do all that I can to help.

 For those that do not know Kevin: A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, Kevin was working in the renewable energy sector. He was very active and his passions are many: swimming, diving, mountain biking, cars, surfing, and skiing among the top of the list. Kevin’s family has gone through a lot in the past year. His brother Keith was a victim of the UC Santa Barbara school shootings last May. Keith suffered a traumatic brain injury with a fractured skull and torn liver. Keith is currently still recovering. Medical costs for Kevin’s injury are nothing small and continue to add up. The Christopher and Dana Reeves foundation have estimated costs for spinal cord injuries to be over $100,000/year. And with his brother Keith’s traumatic brain injury the total costs have been overwhelming for him and his family. Let’s take care of Kevin and get him the best care possible so he can return to his passions he loves so dearly. Donations made will be put directly towards Kevin’s medical costs: first and foremost his surgery and rehabilitation.

My son got to meet his hero Colin Kaepernick for his birthday and he caught a touchdown pass from him and got a high five from him because of it. It was a wonderful experience, I’m so happy for him.
