“ For Will I clawed my way out of hell, then dug out of my grave to come back to him. He's like..my muse. I suppose; keeping me motivated to survive. The beats to my heart, the air to my lungs” he answered, reverent and fond in tone, as if stating a fact that everyone knew. They don't.

“As for Hannibal... My feelings regarding him are as complicated as he is” Faust let out a long, long sigh. “... I'm happy that someone else appreciates Will. He needed more of that; just .... ” his hand covered his mouth slightly, deep in thought as he looked through his memories and mind palace about Hannibal. The tip of his ears blushed slightly.

Hello, Dr. Lecter! Lovely to meet you! I'm an associate of Dr.Sutcliffe. Pray tell- are you aware that a mutual aquintance, namely one Frederick Chilton, is claiming to be co-writing a book with you on social exclusion? Something about Will Graham if I recall?

"Hello... It's nice to meet you as well, although I would like to extend my apologies for the recent... loss of your colleague if I may," Hannibal said smoothly, composure unruffled until they continued to speak. His brows furrowed slightly, a soft hum of consideration filling the air for a moment before he fixed his expression. "... I was not aware of this, no. The two of us are not in fact writing a book, I'd like to make that clear. While that does sound like a titillating book topic, I have and will never want a part in such a thing with someone such as himself at the helm."

as you’re leaving your office for the day you see a guy with long black hair hyperventilating on the outside of your office, his hair is covering most of his form, he looks ratty and disheveled. from what you can see he’s in a t-shirt and shorts, which is not fit for the dropping temperatures of baltimore. “what do i do…” he murmurs to himself through.. either shakes breaths or soft sobs.

It was fairly late, around 8 or so, the last appointment finished an hour ago. He'd been finishing up paperwork and sketching before deciding to head home, suitcase in hand and bundled up. Usually nothing stopped him at this time, the occasional patient was the most he got, but tonight he heard shaky breathing and soft sobs, a younger man curled in on himself. Hannibal paused, looking him over before taking interest and padding closer, a safe distance away but still near. "Hello? May I help you?"

he turns, facing you in a stance where it looks like he would run, but his legs aren’t quite under him, as though he doesn’t know how to get up again. his arm is holding him up, his back is arched and his dark eyes stare up at you. “are you with them..?” he questions in a terrified attempt at being strong or intimidating.

Now he was even more curious. "No, likely not. Who are you talking about how however?" Hannibal spoke softly, soothingly, relaxing his posture and easing his presence in a subtle way to try and get the younger man to workable and less tense. "I'm Hannibal Lecter, I work as a psychiatrist in the building behind us. I'm not here to hurt you, just wondering if you require assistance or not."

"...im talking about the people who took me from home..." he says, less tense now. he takes a shaky breath in, before asking "can you help me? get up, get away.. get home.." he asks hopefully, wanting desperately to feel ok, to be safe. he seems like he tries but fails to get up, but ends up leaning on his elbows instead

Hannibal looked him over once more before nodding, padding forwards and grabbing him under the arms, gentle but firm as he resettled Casey on his feet, letting go when he was sure he could stand. "Where do you live? And what is your name?" He was intrigued enough to help, and with how dull his day had been, this was a nice new change. Probably not for Casey, but certainly for Hannibal.

he takes a minute to get on his feet, holding onto your arms in hopes that he wont fall as he tries to stand "I'm casey.. i live at the pacific ocean.. but it smells different now... I've never been this far from home.." he says, answering your questions while still being frazzled from.... something, someone chasing him it seems.

Hannibal let him cling, inhaling discretely, practically tasting the salt and fear rolling off of him. The ocean indeed. How odd. "You are very far from home. Did anyone else come with you? Or get taken as well"

he shakes his head, “no one i want to meet again…” he says trying to stay coherent and not cry. “i don’t know what to do.. i’m scared…” he whispers the last bit, not wanting anyone he doesn’t know to hear. He talks through clenched teeth thanks to a muzzle that was hidden behind his long hair until he shook his head, causing it to untangle a bit from the wires.

He heard, despite his whisper, letting him have it however and instead pulling out a fine handkerchief for him to wipe his face with. "Well, if you'd like, I can keep them from you and provide somewhere for you to figure out what to do next." Hannibal normally wasn't the sort to do this kind of thing, more the type to give a polite inquiry and instructions to the nearest police station because everyday affairs bored him, but he was..... very intrigued to say the least. What was with the muzzle, the salty air that followed him, the feeling of coarseness when their skin brushed, the scent of an animal larger than him and as capable as he was? Things to find out soon. It'd be interesting at least.

he’s shaking and snarls softly as a reflex to you touching his face. he’s still very scared. after he takes a minute to calm down, he nods.

“yes please.. i don’t know where i am. and i’d like them kept from me. that’s nice..” he says, trying to calm down and trying his best to be comfortable with hannibal, but barely being trusting. he’s on edge, as if he can tell that hannibal is more than what he claims to be. as though he can smell the beast inside of him.

Hannibal was patient, pausing at the snarling and showing him the cloth, murmuring, "I'm just going to clean what I can of your face so that way you're more comfortable, I'm not trying to hurt you." Not technically incorrect, but not the whole truth either. He wanted to know his boundaries, wanted to know where he could press, prod, poke. Metaphorically of course. "Come then, my car's nearby, I shall take you to my home," He said, folding the handkerchief and tucking it back into his pocket, picking his suitcase back up with a fluid motion.

casey sniffed at the handkerchief while it was there, deciding it didn’t smell bad. he decides he should stay close to you, that you’ll be safer than the other people he had been with.

he takes a couple steps, still shaky on his feet, but getting the hang of it again. he holds onto your sleeve in case he falls, and he looks at you, ready to go to this car thing. it can’t be as bad as the fast thing he was on before.

Hannibal wrapped a hand loosely around his upper arm as a precaution, going his pace as he got him to his Bentley, sleek but likely intimidating to the poor thing. He opened the passenger door for him, gesturing inside with a soft, "After you-"

There was a firm, but polite knock upon Will's door, the motel he was housed in for the moment lightweight in all ways and so unneeded of anything harsher. Hannibal waited until the door opened, revealing a bleary Will, and he offered a slight, genuine smile. "Good morning Will. May I come in?" He held a medium sized bag, full of their breakfast for today and various other things, looking as prim and proper as always. [ @collecterofchurchcollapses ]

He looks at Hannibal for a moment, wondering why he’s here so early. Jack had said Will was needed in an hour or two, not now. He wasn’t even dressed yet, still in his sleep shirt and underwear from having just woken up. He starts to look around, asking a simple “where’s Crawford?” Before finally looking back at Hannibal for an answer.

"Deposed in court. The adventure is yours and mine today," Hannibal answered with ease, eyes flickering over him momentarily before they slid behind him and observed his room. "May I come in?" He repeated, a bit more firm, but not unfriendly.

He glances behind Hannibal momentarily, before looking him up and down, hesitant at best. Then he steps back before turning around to head into the dark motel room. The room is bare, and has scarcely more than the most basic necessities of such a place and a table with two chairs by the window.

Hannibal took his silence and his open door as assent, stepping inside and shutting the door behind him. It was dim, but he didn't bother flicking a light on, just opening the curtains and letting the early morning sunshine flicker through. His bag was settled on the table, opened to retrieve a couple of glassware. "I'm very careful about what I put into my body, which means I end up making most meals myself." The lid was popped off of Will's, and pushed towards him, a fork offered as well from another, smaller, container. Ever meticulous. "A little protein scramble to start the day. Some eggs, some sausage."

He takes the fork and stabs it into the sausage, missing some of the egg, before eating it. As he chews he lifts the bowl, and Hannibal hears a soft hum of approval, before he says “it’s delicious, thank you” with a genuine, yet formal tone.

"My pleasure." He nods, a slight smile twisting onto his mouth as he got out his own fork and set the bag down onto the floor. "I would apologize for my analytical ambush, but I know I will soon be apologizing again and you will tire of that eventually, so I have to consider using apologies sparingly."

he takes a bite of food as you talk about apologies, seemingly unamused. at the end of your sentence he nearly cuts you off with how quickly he responds. his first fort for you arises, and he clearly doesn’t even have to think about it as he says “just keep it professional.” he says looking up at you at the end of his sentence before returning to his breakfast.

Hannibal looked at him for a moment before saying, "Or, we could socialize like adults. God forbid we become friendly." He took a bite of his own breakfast, internally amused by the rudeness.

he swallows his food, looking at his drink before saying “i don’t find you that interesting.” plain and simple. then he drinks his drink.

"You will," Hannibal said after a moment, letting another, longer one pass to eat some of his scramble before switching topics and saying instead, "Agent Crawford tells me you have a knack for the monsters."
