A little practice making a pattern from an image. I’ve uploaded it to my Google Drive… so here is the pattern!
p.s I’ve noticed a little gap on the left side arm… I’m not updating the pattern so just use the white!

I finally finished Small Child’s birthday present!
She’s currently obsessed with both cats and avocados, so naturally this was the only thing I could make for her.
y’all know how long it took me to realize this says “Pumpkin Pie”???
I didnt notice that lol
I’m quite proud of this piece… after more than 60 hours of stitching (and that doesn’t include design and prep time), I just posted this off to Alabama! I feel relieved that this huge job is over, but I really loved the process if creating this.

Finally finished with this year’s The Great British Bake Off Sampler! i’ve uploaded a copy of the pattern with thread colors and symbols here. I can’t wait until next year!
I’ve also attached the picture of what the ma’amoul are supposed to look like. (sorry for the really terrible picture my phone’s camera is not working and i had to use my computer’s webcam. what i’m trying to show here is that the top layer for the cookie on the right i used one thread the color 712 to give it a powdered sugar look. i don’t think it really worked, but i think that white or snow white dmc thread might because it should give more contrast.
This layout was actually what i planned to do last year but never got around to it. It gets easier to do this the second time because i have already chosen a bunch of the colors and decided how large i’m going to make it. i was also planning on adding flames around the week ten technical challenge but then never got around to it.
Anyway, this project is now over!!!! (now i have to come up with new ideas????)
i actually have a pin of griffin eating a banana
This whole thing is hilarious, and then Travis just strolls in at the end to prove that he’s the Relatable Brother.

this….I FEEL CALLED OUT!
This pattern was too cute to not stitch. Here’s the chart!
A MEGADUMP of my fave cross-stitches thus far, as I realized I haven’t shared most of these over here. This is a fan-fucking-tastic hobby, y’all. A perfect thing to do with your hands while marathoning TV and binging on films. :D

Cross Stitching Asks!
I don’t know if anyone else has done this yet, it’s just a few questions I thought would be cute, ask away!
How long have you been stitching?
What’s your favorite finished piece?
When and where do you typically stitch?
What kind or music do you like to listen to while stitching?
How many pieces are you working on now?
How many boxes, bags, and other containers do you have holding unused floss and cloth?
Do you have any other crafty/artsy hobbies?
Any unrelated hobbies? (sports, music, etc)
Have you ever made pieces as a gift for someone else? Who?
How/where do you get your patterns?
Do you follow any other stitchers on tumblr or elsewhere you’d recommend?
Feel free to ask me any of these, or to reblog them yourself. If you have your own questions to add on, please do!
DO IT. ASK ME THINGS.
I get asked these a lot anyway, why not post them too!

I was listening to an art podcast and I heard someone use “creative hibernation” as a term to describe a period of time when your creative energy and flow of ideas is slowing down.
Honestly, it sounds so much better than “art block”. To me, “creative hibernation” sounds less like a negative thing and more like an organic part of the creative process.
“Art block” sounds very definite. They sound like something you MUST actively fight against to break them down in order to continue. “Hibernation” on the other hand sounds more like a thing that happens every now and then but that will go away on its own when it’s time. It’s a stage of gathering energy for the next creative pursuit. Art block on the other hand is an artificial, mental block that actually just seems to solidify the more you treat it like an obstacle to get around.
All creative people go through this type of slowing down all the time and it is completely alright. I thought I would share this because I think the right kind of mentality is actually one of the most important things of recovering your creative energy.
