This is our second post of our new Sierra Up Close #sierraupclose series of photographs. These little guys scurry so fast you have to be faster to capture them. I saw this guy along the Eagle Rock Trail on the west shore of lake Tahoe. I believe this is the alpine chipmunk (Neotamias alpinus) is a species of chipmunk native to the high elevations of the Sierra Nevada of California. I shot a deer. Pun intended. I was hunting for some good landscapes and happen to capture this deer. I captured the doe mid jump. I have always found wildlife photography to be the hardest. I typically don't have the patience for it. Spring time in the desert 🏜. Far from being lifeless and void. This was taken last year, I think in February, when snow closed Interstate 5 north of Shasta. A snowy landscape is always beautiful. Especially against a clear blue sky.
