Two state workers were hurt during avalanche mitigation on Loveland Pass.
Our thoughts are with 2 CDOT workers injured during avalanche mitigation near Loveland Pass this morning. State employees take on dangerous jobs on a daily basis for the good of Colorado and we're grateful for their service.
One step closer to a raise: the Colorado House passes the budget, which includes the 2.5% increase for state workers.
Join us on Wednesday, April 16 for another WINSday in the Denver office. We'll view Stanley Kubrick's "The Seafarers" and talk about the Ludlow Centennial Commemoration events.
We're expecting next week's Revenue Forecast to put the 3% raise in danger. Now is the time to call JBC members and let them know that state workers contribute to our state's economic recovery! Only by hearing from YOU can this raise become a reality. Call one or all of the JBC members listed and say: "Hi, my name is _______ and I'm a state employee working at __(dept/facility: ie: DOC, Sterling)__. Please keep the 3% base-building raise for state workers funded in this year's budget. We spend our money in local economies and help contribute to our State's economic health. A raise for state employees means that next year, our state economy will be even stronger. A 3% raise that helps state workers keep up with inflation will propel Colorado forward. Thank you."
WINS joins State Senators in calling on CDOT to release info on US-36 50-year toll road contract with an Australian private company. Read more here: http://bit.ly/1emGxRO
“I just want to say thank you to the Joint Budget Committee for supporting state workers,” said Shelly Marquez, and Accountant in the Dept. of Human Services Domestic Violence program. “It means a lot to us and to Colorado, and we look forward to continuing the conversation about how we serve the state.” Read more here: http://coloradowins.org/2014/01/13/jbc-approves-3-pay-raise/
