these punk docos are soooo cringe but I watch them all anyway and love them. There’s nothing quite like getting a bunch of old dudes together to talk about the good ol’ days and hang some shit on hippies.

OK so I’ll admit that I watch way too much late night American talk shows, and always have. I remember these ‘Lyle the Intern’ bits on Letterman from when I was a kid - they’re so stupid and funny, in a way that just doesn’t happen anymore on those kinds of shows. I remember Letterman and Conan being really fucking weird when I was a kid, and they’d have all these super strange, absurdist bits - you watch them now and wonder how they were ever able to get it ‘approved’, not because it’s smutty but because it’s kind of challenging in the way that good nonsense is: not easily palatable. Anyway I’m rambling but I like this sorta stuff and spent too much time today watching this collection, with the super amazing Jimmi Simpson as Lyle.
