Shock is the first to hit her when she sees a hair color she hasn’t seen in years along with a face she’d never forget... How long had it been? Five years? Three? The lantern isn’t sure as she lets her feet guide her to the man who still haunted her thoughts with those jade eyes of his. He’d been paying attention to the person making his regular order at the coffee shop, merely standing quietly in his place. One earphone nestled in his ear while the other hung over the opposing one like a pencil. He paused when he heard a somewhat familiar voice, the jade eyes of his shifting to look back at who it was. There’s a moment he stopped and just stared in surprise after that, the jades of his eyes widened and reeling back the surprise in his expression already.. It had been far too long, those eyes of his never once leaving her.

“Aimee?” The name slipped past his lips before he can make the connection in his mind, as easy as breathing for him. “Aimee Jordan.”

by late, it means anywhere between 1 day to 1 year. because i know some people prefer writing and replying on the spot, but i’m also sure lots of peeps struggle with that for various reasons, and threads get dropped because their partner has long lost interest or something, which can be very discouraging. so i hope we can all be understanding here!

Jades shift from where he was going for a moment, recognizing the area as where Aimee lived. Maybe I’ll just stop in and say hi. He skid to a stop, turning to head to her home before slowing down just a few houses back so that he could seem like he was just wandering up to the home. Hands find themselves in his pockets as he rounded the area of the front to go up to the door, almost wondering if he shouldn’t have called first to see if she was home.

His hand was removed from his pocket, smoothly moving to knock on the door while he stood there. The person that answered, however, had caught him off guard. “Uhh.. hey, is Aimee here?” A nervous smile passed the boy’s face, having not been entirely comfortable around family figures having always expected there to be something bad happen when most of them found out he was a mutant. “I can go if she’s not, I was just in the area and thought I’d stop by and say hi.”

Contrary to popular belief, Tommy doesn’t prematurely ejaculate. She’s more concerned with how he is because he shouldn’t be slurring like that and she should have never left earth. No, she shouldn’t have. “Liar.” She muttered as she glanced at him, holding to him tightly but not enough to hurt him. At least she hoped it wasn’t hurting him. She was glad to hear that dry sense of humor of his though.

“Think I’ll pass and just focus on saving you, babe.” She shrugged as she flew them out of there, warm green aura surrounding both of them as she smiled slightly. He would have handed them their asses and then some. “I know. You would have kicked their asses to mars. It’s not a fun place to go just so you know.” She nodded, shifting her weight a little as she willed her ring to locate Billy.

“I’ll handle the aftermath with whatever they’re running, you’re going to focus on getting better, alright?” She wanted nothing more than to rip them to shreds and hold him until it all disappear. Aimee already knew that she wasn’t’ going to leave his side. Not now. Not ever. “Already on it.” She flew them faster now. “We’ll be there in a few minutes, sorry I’m not as fast as you, handsome.” She smiled sadly as constructs held him up slightly along with the bandages. She hoped and prayed that his brother would be able to help him.

“Please don’t pass out on me, Tommy.”

There’s a moment where he feels like he’s dozing off and he jolts back awake. God, he was so tired and it all hit him like a ton of bricks and all at once. “Sadly, I’m not lyin' 'bout it.” He’d been in the prison for good year before he’d been removed from it. The speedster still vividly remembered his first time in confinement. It wasn’t that he couldn’t manage to keep the memories at bay. It was that he knew trying may not even work.

There was a sliver of a smile on the man’s face when he listened to her words, nodding some to show he understood. He really did. But he was tired. “I’ll have to take your word for it.” His eyes close because--he can barely see beyond blobs of fuzzy forms around him right now. The lab.. the things they’d done to him.. And in order to sedate him this time, they had stripped him completely of his powers (Though it was only temporary) so that he wouldn’t fight them on everything.

His head was spinning, but he figured that there could be worse things right now and he had to be grateful for what he could handle for the time being. “Don’ worry about it.. Gotta be some points I gotta slow down right?” His voice was getting quiet, the discolored eyes trying to close again on him. “Kick their asses for me, Aims..” He had to stay awake but it was so hard. He just wanted to sleep. To rest for the next day or so and let his abilities come back.

Another jolt and he’s awake again, trying to fend off the exhaustion. “M’ trying not to..”
