This is an independent RP & Ask Blog for the DC Comics (New Earth) character Inertia (Thad Thawne) set after his death as Kid Zoom.

Important Information Before Interacting: I’ve been RP-ing this version of Thad for thirteen years, so there are aspects of him that may seem very different due to the fact I’ve been writing this long.

In general: He’s older (21-23, his age is dependent upon Verses and characters), he’s had more experiences which have affected him, has connection to characters he hasn’t interacted with in canon (such as Barry Allen), and has had more time to reflect on his past actions which have led him to certain outlooks on life and his past.

he knows thad has been drinking by scent alone. his nose works like a hound's, thanks to his augmented senses, but grant knows thad knows. right now, though, he has something else in mind.

his hand moves to his collar, pulls him in and kisses him, tongue laving over his teeth, tongue. he hums after a moment, pulling away. "wine?" he frowns. "really, speedsy?"

Even as he's yanked and pulled at by his collar there's a languid ease to Thad as he simply lets it happen. There's not fight or struggle, just a grip of the mercenary's wrist as he steadies himself, because he knows the steps to this dance between Grant and himself.

He knows them well as teeth and tongues collide and he savors in the 'steps' before they pull away.

"Oh nooo~" Thad chuckles. That frown of Grant's paired with the judgement in his voice just amused him too much. "Don't tell me this is what you're finally gonna judge me for. My taste in alcohol." Another laugh soon follows that. If this was all Grant was going to judge him for then Thad would call that a blessing. People had given him shit for much, much worse.

"What can I say? I like how it tastes, and alcohol is alcohol. Simple as that." He says with a unbothered shrug, "Though...what's your deal, then? Big man can't stand some fermented grapes?" He asks teasingly, perhaps even prodding a bit as a smirk stretches across his lips.

Ray looked at the perfect circle burned through the chest of Thad's costume. Yeah that looked like one of his burns. It wasn't one of Kon's heat vision burns. Ray let out a sigh. What was he supposed to do about this? Did Thad want him to replace his costume for him?

"Have you considered that maybe a boob window elevates the costume? It works for Power girl." Ray shrugged not knowing what else to say. What else was there to say? That was just part of the job when you had to wear real clothes. Ray didn't wear any at all. His were all hard light constructs. Bart could see through them and Ray purged that from his mind before he started thinking a bit too hard about the implications of that.

Ray rolled his eyes, something that was impossible to see in his light form. He put a construct on Thad, a shirt. Something that felt so real it had become real. It was a black graphic tee with a worm on a string that read "I ❤️Tax Fraud"

"Look your boob window is covered are you happy now? Can I be freed of this responsibility you put on me because I have to go to a little league baseball match soon."

A long while ago I had started making a list of all the pop culture references that Kon makes in the Superboy comics after noticing his dialogue is full of them, so finally after starting that first list a year or so ago, I have finished looking through Superboy (1994) and compiled that list.

I set out to do this because I thought it would be fun to see what sort of implanted knowledge Kon has in the '94 comics. I've noticed that he loves talking about Star Trek (his favorite character is clearly Captain Kirk) and Star Wars, he has a varied taste in music, and he mentions Jennifer Lopez three or four times.

Specifically this is a list of references he makes in Superboy (1994) and then Adventures of Superman #506. I do plan on adding the references he makes in other comics (Adventures of Superman, Young Justice and more) in the future, but I figured this was a good stopping point just as I started looking into Adventures of Superman.

With a crunch, Thad takes a bite of the cherry popsicle as it's raised up towards him. Payment happily received.

"A new cape, huh?" He says between chews of the flavored ice. "Well," He pauses as he swallows, "I don't know where heroes get their costumes, but I do know a tailor for villains. Maybe I could pull his arm and get him to make you a new cape. How's that sound?"
