A thing I hate about short format videos like TikTok’s or yt shorts (apart from the obvious attention span thing) is how creative processes are just displayed as randomly and effortlessly doing some things and in the end you have a gorgeous masterpiece. As if it didn’t take time to plan, to figure out the exact techniques, to do a test run, to do mistakes and then having to redo something. It just shows the creative process as something flawless, simple and straightforward when it’s really not. Implants weird expectations in the mind of not being allowed to figure things out but being perfect on first trial.
