Protected self (Ego) vs. Radical honesty:
Ego (protected self):
“I can never catch a break.”
Radical Honesty:
“I haven’t learned how to create new patterns and behaviors yet.”
———
Ego (protected self):
“I attract the wrong people.”
Radical honesty:
“I am attracting people representative of unhealed trauma.”
———
Ego (protected self):
“No one understands me.”
Radical honesty:
“I don’t understand myself.”
It is important to tune into your inner dialogue, to get clear with what you think, and why. Be radically honest with yourself, and always clarify what that really means. Reprogramming one’s behavior takes time and dedication to the process. It doesn’t happen overnight—but it starts there, and just like a muscle it strengthens over time, the more you use it.
What is your inner dialogue saying to you?
