The only video games I have the energy for at the moment are mobile games, and I've been playing Homescapes. Like Lily's Garden, but both more batshit and less batshit at the same time?
Anyway, the main dude is a butler called Austin who comes home -- home being a decrepit mansion, but a mansion nonetheless -- and finds out his parents want to sell it. Cue angst.
Unlike Lily's Garden, you, the player, have a name and are referenced in game by Austin, but that's it. His parents don't know about you. It's a weird fourth wall thing, I think. So I named myself John, and have gone on a wild headcanon spree. I'm Austin's billionaire boyfriend who came home with Austin to meet the parents, and I have agreed to bankroll this mansion renovation because I love my boyfriend, you know? And how else is a butler going to afford to do up his parents' mansion, especially in this economy?
Austin's dad was also a butler so I can only assume that he inherited the mansion from his ancient employer or some other nefarious financial deal.
Austin's childhood friend Katherine comes around every so often, and Austin clearly has a crush on her, so there's going to be some tension between Austin and me when Austin and Katherine start flirting more and eventually fuck (they do fuck, right? I'm not far enough through the story yet, but I feel it coming). Like, bro, you've got your rich-ass boyfriend living with you in your childhood bedroom, and he's bankrolling your fucking ugly renovations, and you're going to sleep with your childhood friend in front of him??????? Rude. Very rude.
And what have Austin's parents been doing? How did they let the mansion get so rough? They seem to have been living in only the entrance hall and maybe the kitchen. So what about the rest of the mansion? They haven't been into any of the other rooms in years?? Why? What are they hiding????
ALSO, Austin's parents are so horny for each other and Austin has no idea. It's kinda funny. They are clearly fucking all the time and Austin's just like, 'oh my parents are so sweet and do lovely things for each other." *happy sigh* And I'm over here watching dad oggle mum in her new dress and thinking, they gonna fuck tonight.
