He shrugged his shoulders once again. He supposed it could be true, but he’d never really thought about it. The Triceratons had made quite a name for themselves in the universe at large, and he’d never considered that anyone would be able to forgive them. “I was following orders. I have… forgiven myself my part in the wrongdoings, but Commander Mozar believes we yet have a debt to pay to the universe. I am inclined to believe that he is right.”
When she mentioned his tail, he looked down, and blinked, as if noticing it for the first time. He wasn’t used to attention being drawn to his tail, and most of the time, paid it no mind himself. “No, I am not cold, despite being so… under dressed. Saurians are rather warm-blooded creatures, and I was born at the bottom of society, I have been in colder environments wearing less.”
Tilting his head to one side in confusion, he asked, “What is a ‘coffee?’ In any case, I do not wish to impose upon you by requesting sustenance, and I have my two companions to return to. This was to have been a quick supply run.”
"Coffee is a drink that warms you up and give you an energy boost, but it has a bitter taste to it." Chey explained calmly. "Not unless you add sugar to it. But you’re not imposing on me at all! If you need help with anything at all, I’m more than happy to volunteer!”
At the mention of two companions, something came to mind. The Triceratons weren’t of Earth, of course, and considering how long Trusk told her he’d been on the planet…
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to meet your companions." Chey suggested. "Thing is, since you guys aren’t native to Earth, I’m concerned about your immune systems. The months you’ve been here, I don’t know how you guys stand against things like the common cold and viruses. If it’s all right, I’d like to make sure your immune systems haven’t been compromised.”
“We have a small shelter that can get us through the next several months, and we have discovered a source of water that can be utilized during the night hours, and we stock up enough to last through the next day.” He paused briefly, crossing his arms over his otherwise bare chest, before adding, “Triceratons pride themselves on being self-sufficient. I apologize in advance if this comes across as being rude.”
The suggestion to meet the others, he knew, was intended in good spirits, but it had him nervous nonetheless. He likely should have kept silent on the presence of Officer Lukoz and Commander Mozar, and yet... well, too late for that now.
“How can I be certain that you do not have ulterior motives?” A thought occurred to him, and he shuddered slightly. “Natives to this planet have a tendency to be touchy-feely. If you desire intimate contact with us, I must turn you away. Mozar and Lukoz would never go for such a thing.”
