Omg the last tumblr post!
What were your personal objectives? To be honest I can hardly remember but I recall it being along the lines of being more creative and innovative in my work. I think this is something I semi-achieved, I think I still fell into the trap of leaving everything to the last minute, limiting the way I went about something, but I am slowly beginning to start things earlier e.g. my zine!
One thing I loved learning about was The Bauhaus, I found the history and concept behind it so so fascinating and the way in which The Bauhaus has shaped how we view design today is mind boggling.
I loved researching the Grid System and Swiss Typeface for my Tumblr as I could resonate with so many of the principles and realised I already sub subconsciously use a lot of them as a designer!
Researching the Memphis Group also really resonated with me as I feel so much of their design is quite relevant in today’s design aesthetic. I probably wouldn’t say planning was a skill I unlocked as I mentioned before, BUT slowly working on it! I loved the group work we were presented with as I’d never really been able to work in a group environment before that has involved design so being with like-minded people and bouncing ideas off each other was so awesome!!
Thanks Karen and Andy for being seriously awesome, you made everyone’s first semester one to remember!!!
