you can tell when even they know the accusations are stupid and baseless, cus they immediately move the goalposts. you could've seen it with the film score issue too, like they couldn't say out loud that I should have been on the hook to support a film financially simply because I worked on it for free, so they just covered it up with calling me a gross pervert instead. don't get distracted, they put a censor bar on someone's safe for work (and platonically focused, mind you) artwork to make it look like sexually explicit material in an attempt to smear me. they can't defend that, so they just play the greatest hits again and hope you don't notice.

Played about 3 hours of The Forest of Love and I am just so charmed! It’s a nsfw top down furry game. Lovely pixel art and simple but effective animations. The story is actually interesting, and provides a nice little through line for you to follow as you enjoy the real meat of the game: the critters.

Oh my gawd y’all! This cast is just to die for. Every character works their way into your heart, the devs really painted the picture of this quaint (raunchy) community. The critters have history, their favorite pals/partners. The gossip conversations are often hilarious and frequently quite spicy. And then when you’ve met most of the cast and start thinking about your fave critters and scenes, BOOM! They hit you with the critter dates! These were absolutely my favorite part so far. When you pass a screen with some chairs and tables, you’ll find critters on dates that you can ask them about. It’s such a fun way to learn more about the cast and how they feel about each other.

And of course it passes the ultimate test of the genre: I cannot pick a best partner!! Seriously, I would be 99% sure I had a favorite, and then you learn about Penny’s secret kink, but then the coyote gals rope you into one of the hottest scenes in the game, and then Scarlett’s basement! They just keep stealing your heart away again and again. (For real, Penny and Mabel are neck and neck rn)

The tone is wonderfully cozy the whole way through, it’s adorable. There’s love mixed in with all the cum. The coyote gals write haikus for crying out loud. Every beat is comforting and sexy and warm, and with just the right dash of humor.

The Forest of Love isn’t a game where you’ll sit there deep in thought about what so and so can really means. But you will 100% finish up a play session and have your head full of delightful characterful moments and some pretty hot scenarios.

9/10 I’m very eager to check out the patreon build eventually.

I always use the term “Analog Games”. Helps to avoid confusion. Sometimes I’ll tell someone I’m really into boardgames and they’ll say “do you like card games?” (even industry reps do this). Analog games effectively covers anything that’s not a video game

I work at a store that sells board games. Every single week, I have this thing happen. I explain a game: goal, theme, mechanics. I’m good at this and break it down concisely and with enthusiasm. It doesn’t matter if I explain a worker placement game with tile shifting mechanics and a prehistoric theme, a domino laying title focused on drafting, or a fucking deck building game. I’ll explain a finish my pitch/summary, and they look me in the eyes and say: “Oh, so kind of like Settlers of Catan?”

board games can be really mean, or always have mean turns be optimal, or they can be nice, having interaction primarily be positive or just have u all doing your own thing around the table. my favorite ones are in the middle, being mean is sometimes optimal which means its a calculated decision & you know that guy who just hatedrafted against you thought really hard about it. simplest game to sit right in the middle of the nice/mean spectrum is probably azul

I think my favorites are on the far end of “mean”. Root and ARCS both beautifully incentivize conflict without that ever usually being the primary goal. You need more room, a couple cities, or one more Fox suited clearing. The only thing standing in your way: a few enemy units. But then you remember that player totally did you a solid last round by not destroying your flagship. Is the good will worth the points?! Can you convince them it’s a chill move? Gah so good.

Only because we haven’t *quite* hit that level of corporate dystopia. Like if a company had massive government levels of capital and the desire to do it, they would totally figure it out. My brain goes to a dedicated lunar satellite network of super projectors. That would be the most usable, but it lacks the permanence and statement of like, loading the surface with explosives and blasting a giant McDonald’s logo shaped crater.
