POCs: Yes, Iron Fist is racist, it uses the mighty whitey and has always been racist. Just because he was created during a time where this type of thing was common since 98% comic book characters were white doesn’t mean we have to keep using it. Marvel has evolved through the years and many characters have had their origin stories changed, some characters like Nick Fury have even be hanged to make them more diverse. There is no reason why Iron Fist should be above change. In fact looking back a lot of current incarnations of a lot of these superheroes are a lot different from how they acted back when they were created in the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s since they have had to evolve with the years and how our culture has changed.

If you’re a POC and disagree with them you’re opinions are immediately dismissed because it just means you are okay with racism. Not that you have your own opinions and just happen to disagree with them.

As a POC who has been in similar arguments they usually sum it up to internalized Racism because if you don’t agree with them it’s because you hate yourself.

They don’t care about POC’s as a whole the care about the ones that will go along with there blatant reverse racism.

I don’t quite get how I’m disrespecting and appropriating my own culture. Not to mention that minorities are more likely to get jobs due to regulations that require a certain number to be employed. The reason you don’t get hired if you dress respectable is simply the reason everyone doesn’t get hired because getting a job is hard. I would suggest if you feel that it’s such a problem you should stop whining on tumblr, and if you really want to be taken seriously have a little common sense.
