lol what made narusasu so good is that they were never enemies or rivals but two kids who had always wanted to reach out to the other but didn’t know how to. they never hated each other. it was never an enemies to lovers story. it was naruto’s you saw and understood me when nobody else did vs sasuke’s love makes me weak but i can’t help loving you. there’s nothing in shonen or anime or manga like narusasu and nobody who tries to emulate them will ever get it right bc people think they are just another instance of bitter mortal enemies who eventually became friends… but this isn’t true. it was never like that.

Sasuke's entire clan was murdered due to the military leadership of the Leaf Village fearing that they were plotting a coup due to them being forced into being cops and living in a ghetto, and when he finds out about this he assassinated the one responsible for this atrocity (who was a war criminal who committed many other crimes btw) and then plotted to kill the military dictators of the other villages.
