Interesting. While both deserve direct policy intervention, only one gets national attention (while the follow through with vets is still pretty inadequate).
Ableism, classism, segregation & hatred are feeding this vicious cycle that just keeps on going. (Via gradientlair)

ROBOTS OR DINOSAURS?
Haha, I think personally I'd have to go with ROBOTS. Why? Because there is more that you can do with them as far as programming them and such... dinosaurs are cool too though, looking at the past and studying the various animals that used to roam the planet. Just think if we still had dinosaurs now, that would be pretty awesome ... and terrifying

What is unique about city heights/hillcrest?
In which community do you feel most comfortable?
What are the stereotypes about the community?
Are those stereotypes correct?
What would you tell someone that had never been to the community before to prepare them for their experiences in either city heights or hillcrest?
If you live in either of these communities why have you chosen to live there?
Is there alot of community UNITY or are people very individualistic? (rather than having a collective mindset)
Do you have any stories or commentary to tell us about the community?

This is a reblog from something I found here on tumblr but I believe this is the wall of 'Alibi' in Hillcrest. My friend Amanda ( saywhatpandah ) had mentioned to me this was one of the really cool / unique things in Hillcrest and I have to agree! I would love to go by here sometime and get more pictures of this wall.

Hello Tumblr community!
Sorry for the lack of posting. This is a secondary blog I have created for a group project and so I know I haven't been posting as often as I should/want to and I'm not sure others have posted either.
We are a tumblr that has been created as yet another social media platform to let the internet world and the world at large know about the progress we have been making with our investigative inquiry project.
In short we are doing research on two communities (City Heights and Hillcrest (North Park area) in San Diego, CA) to see if we can provide support to a certain area. Our challenges in regards to support are in my opinion, finding something worth while as well as finding a way to make the support we implement to be sustainable once this project is over (in about 7 weeks).
