COMPULSION RITES: APRIL UPDATE

Discretion “Linger” c20 (ltd. 25 copies) - Justin Lakes is better known for his filth-obsessed harsh noise/power electronics project Pusdrainer, but his other solo project Discretion has been lurching down a sonic warpath with unrelenting and focused meditations of harsh noise walls. Slow, menacing, rumbling walls on both sides test your intestinal fortitude and your mental stability.

Perestroika “Strong, Strong Like Bear” c30 (ltd. 30 copies) - While this description is inevitably going to read like a joke, do not dismiss this tape until you’ve at least heard the samples. This odd male & female duo shows up to Cleveland noise shows in Soviet regalia, piss drunk off the main Soviet cultural export, and proceed to pummel the crowd mercilessly with red-menace of a power electronics assault.  If you’ve wanted to know what a bottle of vodka sounds like through a noise rig, you’ll hear it here.

Posture “Absence” CDr (ltd. 15 copies) - 3 tracks clocking in over 45 minutes from this anonymous project focused on male submission and the concept of his liberation through Her domination. After a pummeling c45+c6 private-edition-only release last year, we find more rhythmic, pulsing walls of harsh electronics (some would even say HNW), as Posture this times captures the longing of an abandoned sub. All releases are $5ppd/$7 international. Purchase all 3 for $12/15. A few copies of the Hostage Pageant and Blackfire releases remain, along with copies of the Shadows cassette listed in the distro post. Because this is a pre-order and the label is fairly new and not funded by its own releases yet, I am making a very special pre-order offer in hopes of helping cut the (rather steep) costs of pressing vinyl and get this amazing record out sooner than later!
