Dream: my dad is driving me and my mom to get ice cream sundaes. There is construction on the road so we take a shortcut through a garage. Then I am out of the car and walking down a ramp in the garage. There is an alligator on the ramp. I try to walk around it but it turns towards me, snapping it’s teeth.

A vintage photo of a young man on his Bar Mitzvah day is on the back of this mirror. The object was probably given to guests as a gift to take home after the event. I love finding vintage images of American Jewish life. It makes me think about what my dad’s childhood might have been like.
