End of the School Year

Dear lord Jesus Christ have I learned a lot this year. I walked into this year with high hopes in band. That FRIGGIN CHANGED let me tell you! I haven’t posted in months cause I forgot again. But, anyway, I HATE BAND WITH A BURNING PASSION. Everyone is fake and annoying and I can’t take it anymore. I’ve been in band since middle school and I intended on doing it through high school. That is not happening. The past two years of high school band has sucked. My section, clarinets, they all fake. We had two “section leaders” and neither of them were helpful because they were both fighting each other over who was really section leader. I am not kidding when I say band kids have more drama than theater. I have never met a group of more problematic people than them. I think I’m going to either change the name of this page or create a new one solely dedicated to the terrible interactions I’ve had with band kids in my freshman and sophomore years.

Reminder Time

2/17/17

Show Choir is a rough gang of people. They aren’t “I’m gonna beat you up” kinda tough, they’re “Hey, I’m gonna ruin your pride” kinda tough. I walked in being told they were like a family. I remember being told that in band, too. Band never held up that facade, no matter how hard they tried. They ALL hated each other. Show Choir is pretty much the same, a bunch of assholes, half of whom don’t have any real desire to sing or dance. Having severe anxiety in show choir, now those just DO NOT mix. In the beginning I was having trouble remembering my notes and dance routines because I was so nervous that someone would notice, and then I’d really screw up. They remembered me as the girl who wouldn’t sing and couldn’t dance. One girl, and probs more, talked about me to people who have nothing to do with me or show choir. That is some messed up stuff. Now I have everyone after me telling me I don’t try hard enough. Meanwhile, they’re all falling apart themselves. I’m on the verge of quitting, but I won’t because I know that’s exactly what they want. But, when we win gold in competition, which we are going to (knock on wood), I’m gonna rub it in their faces that I’m obviously trying. Let’s hope this gets better, I feel that I’m on the verge of a breakthrough with them.

Goodbye, Smoky

January 27, 2017. On this day you lost a friend. He was a good little guinea pig, white with grey-black mix spots. You got him and his brother from someone who was giving them up to the humane society. Rodents almost never get adopted from there. When you got them, the original owner failed to tell you how old they were. You would have taken them anyways, but a fair warning that they would die soon would’ve been nice. Bandit, all black, went first. Actually he died within 3 weeks of having him. It was sad, but you got through it. Smoky you had for 4 months. He would run around your room when you let him. When you opened your door, he would screech until you fed him. You called him your alarm system. The day before and the morning before he died, he was as active an yippy as usual, happy healthy boy. When you came home from school, he was unable to support himself. Incapable of moving, you wrapped him up in a towel and tried to feed him. To comfort him, you pet his head and read him some of your favorite children stories. During Horton Hears A Who, as you read “a person is a person, no matter how small” he actually lifted his head and looked at you. After finishing the story, you noticed he wasn’t moving. He died comfortably in your arms. It was extremely painful for you, but you were happy he wasn’t in pain anymore.

School Concert

Last Wednesday was my second ever high school winter concert. It was my second time in band and my first time with show choir. I can definitely say that I’ve never felt more comfortable yet so uncomfortable. Performing arts is what i do but I can’t help but feel I’m the odd one out. I almost don’t belong in either, but when it comes down to it, I know I have to stay for myself. I constantly say I hate everything about it, then a performance comes and my faith is renewed. A show choir competition is coming up and the beginning of color guard season. Let’s see where that takes me.

I expected myself to be much more active on this account. Considering it’s been 13 days since my first, and only, post I guess I really didn’t live up to that expectation. Oh well. Anyways.... Merry Christmas me (and anyone who may see this later)!!!!

First post

So, I guess this is my first post. I don't know why I'm doing this, but I decided to record my highschool experiences in band, show choir, and anything that pops up along the way. I'm a sophomore so I'm kind of starting late. This is more for me to look back on later, if I decide to continue. But, if you are someone who isn't me, hi I'm Annah. I'm currently a 16 year old, half asian, gothy geek. You might get to know me through later posts so stick around (I guess?).
