25
25 feels so old
24 was full of firsts: first apartment, first date since I was 18 (and first serious boyfriend who I love and actually treats me well), first time in Asia, and so many others. Throughout the year, I was surprised at all of these firsts - Iâm an adult, how many more firsts can I have? But then I realized how no matter what stage in life youâre in, there are always firsts. Life is always changing. Coming to terms with constant change. 25 is gonna bring even more change - possibly a new job, year 2 dating Marc (thatâs a first for both of us), settling into the new apartment, and even more. Canât wait to see what 25 has in store :)
I got an email that my tumblr turned 12 today, so I scrolled back and found this. This is what I would tell my 25 year old self
- Youâre 29 now. Youâll still feel old but Iâm excited and embracing the last year of my 20s and looking forward to a confident, fulfilling decade in my 30s
- you are still facing SO MANY firsts
- year 25 was TRAUMATIC - sorry I couldnât warn you sooner. But youâll get through it and come out sadder, but stronger
- you and Marc broke up after year 3 after 2 weeks traveling around Spain and Portugal, and it was the best decision you both ever made for
- FYI youâre also gay
- and dating is really hard
- youâve been to Asia 3 more times since you posted this!! Pandemic aside, girl you living your best life
- AND youâre in a better apartment now. A safe, comfy home that gave you literal shelter during a time of crisis
- youâve gotten better at accepting and embracing the constant change, even tho itâs really fucking hard
- you will continue to thrive in this crazy world you live in
I canât wait to see whatâs next
