serious post. start combating any misinformation you find. monkeypox is not an sti. monkeypox spreads through *any form of contact*. it is not exclusive to gay people, and it is *not* gay people's fault. we can not let history repeat itself. don't let flashy headlines take the place of medical facts and information.

conservatives are already itching to start a witchhunt against LGBT people and monkeypox is something they are going to latch onto.

so i was touching base with a friend regarding all our threads and such and said this:

tbh i like how well rounded all of this is !!! decent amount of romantic and platonic threads and i dont feel like either of us are writing our men more blatantly than our women, and the plots are just always so fun and interesting and varied. something ive run into in the past with older 'friends' / partners is that we'd start out with a good variety of threads but inevitably id be writing more mf ships with them where i wrote the men and that got old; i feel like youve probably run into this too. i only have one partner who literally prefers to write men more than women. so theyre the exception, but otherwise with all my partners who prefer to write women, i always try to make sure things are rounded out so that it feels fun and fair.

tbh i wish more rpers tried to be like that. i really detest when rpers complain about male muse bias but then when they approach multis with men and women, they still only try to write with your men. its one of the worst cases of hypocrisy ive seen in the rpc. its an rp goal of mine in general to just try to love on people's women, though i save that energy for people who love on mine nowadays!

i’m so upset, for a second i thought taika might be directing the la lilo and stitch. not a perfect choice, but he’s the most famous nesian director currently and i know he’d have respect for the community. he’d also have a valuable pov to offer that other directors simply wouldn’t.

why did i hope for this ?? because gil said, guess who is directing the movie. i missed the tone and thought they meant it in a good way so my brain jumped and i got excited. now i’m disappointed af.

Thinking about how a year ago I was interviewed by a very popular radio show about my long COVID symptoms (I was over a year into experiencing them). They ended up not using my story because “it was too sad” and “I didn’t recover like other people”. They told me to contact them when I had recovered to potentially share my story in the future. I wrote back and told them that most people with long COVID will never recover, and that they weren’t accurately reporting on how COVID affects people. They never replied.

A year later and my symptoms still haven’t improved at all. Anyways, here’s your reminder that the COVID reporting you’re reading (at least in the U.S.) is probably not accurate and is not actually reflecting the suffering of real people.
