good night!
me forgetting Tumblr exists lmao
Ursula K. le Guin has died. I wish I had the words to say what this meant. Maybe there aren’t any words. Language is a fool’s errand, and she would have liked us to remember that.
When a great artist dies, we like to ask; but who will succeed them? In this case, honestly, no one could. I don’t mean that hyperbolically. There is no artist living who does what she did the way she did it, not in style or language or story.
She was a universe unto herself. She showed us the path out of Omelas. She taught us the power of names.
She wrote Earthsea and the Hainish into being. She was crazy enough to realize you could do that with words—create the universe—and the world is a little less bleak for it. If we are all just tiny dots of stardust, then that is the light she left shining for us.
I’ll let her speak for herself;
“In that moment, Ged understood the singing of the bird, and the language of the water falling in the basin of the fountain, and the shape of the clouds and the beginning and end of the wind that stirred the leaves; it seemed to him that he himself was a word spoken by sunlight” -Ursula K. le Guin
Goodbye. I hope somewhere you are flying on the other wind.
I LOVE THIS
ALWAYS WAVE BACK.
Tiny humans need that kind of thing. ALWAYS wave back.

the whole gay cousin thing is outdated. i’m gay and i have a gay cousin. there’s two of us. we’re evolving.
I hope I die
This incredible invention is keeping girls in school
For Trinitas Kunashe, like many girls in Malawi, getting her period was unexpected, unexplained and a burden for her everyday life. Often, girls who do not have access to pads prefer to stay home and out of school for the duration of their periods.
But Trinitas is changing that with her amazing new invention:
Made from bright and comfortable locally-sourced fabrics, Tina Pads are a hit amongst girls in her community. They are waterproof, practical and fun – and most importantly reusable.
Determined to make sure no girl is forced to miss school because of her period, Trinitas is a passionate believer in the power of education to change lives.

Reusable pads should be a thing in our societies too because the regular ones are a big enviromental problem.
