Hi it's getting close to the end of the year I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail my criminology class. I was wondering if you knew anything about what would happen if I do fail. I don't want to have to go to summer school and I've never failed a class before so I'm not sure what might happen and am really worried. I'm currently 10th grade if that's of any importance.

My tip was always to try to determine if you’re going to pass or fail a class before the add/drop date. A W (withdraw) on your transcript is always better than an F.  But if it’s past that point, you can reach out to your teacher to see if they can give you extra credit work or allow you to do corrections (I had a lot of teachers who would let me correct tests/quizzes/essays) as long as I could prove that I actually put in the work to find the correct answers. 

Summer school is not the worst thing, I took summer classes for two of the summers I was in high school and got pretty far ahead that I only needed to take two classes my senior year. 

In the long run, failing one class will not wreck your GPA. I took Criminology in CA and some of the lessons were tough to understand. In my state, you need 24 credits to graduate and 1 credit out of all 24 is not going to be a big deal. It may feel like the end of the world now, but I promise you it is not.

hi, im starting around 3 weeks into the semester and i know i am going to have many (50 or so) overdue lessons. what can i do to manage them?

I know this is an old question but I knew of plenty of students who struggled with this while I was in high school, so I’m sure current students do as well.

To answer your question, the best this is going to be to reach out to your teachers and counselors to see if they are open to dropping a few of the smaller assignments. Secondly, pick one course to knock out at a time instead of jumping all over the place. Take notes, but don’t go too in-depth or you’ll lose time and risk falling further behind.

Just remember that if you fall behind, it happens and you can always get caught back up. Do NOT stress yourself out to the point it starts affecting your physical and mental health.

Most likely. Typically you need to speak with a teacher or attend a LiveLesson before they will take you out of alarm. Check your school’s attendance rules or reach out to a teacher/counselor to know for sure.

sorry if you’ve answered this before, but i was wondering if you think colleges/universities care that you’ve been online schooled?

depends in what way. im sure they’re interested in it and will expect the same amount of work out of you than the other kids. i dunno i get anxiety thinking about that shit thinking they’ll berate for it so i dont know! i really dont. anyways

have you taken sat’s or act’s yet? do you think connections academy prepared you well enough for them or,,

i took the sat’s, if you payed attention enough and actually worked you should be fine. i did fine on the reading but shitty on the math but i dont really care for math so whooooo cares. it’s like every school except you’re expected to put in your side of the work more by learning more independently

Do you know if it's possible to skip grades in Nevada Connections? I got held back last year because of my attendance and I really want to get back on the same level as most kids my age, and if I could manage it maybe get ahead a bit more. I heard online you can finish early and move on to the next semester or year but all the info I could find was pretty vague.

i think you’d have better luck asking someone from the facility about this like a counselor or even the principal

If my teacher put a request in for a class change, how long will it take for my new class to show up?

i’d give a week? maybe less? if it takes more than a week and a half i would contact that teacher/your counselor about it.

What happens during a Spanish Time to Talk?

heyyyy sooo! i wanna go back to public school my senior year (i’m going into my junior year this year) and basically i got fucked over in math my 9th grade year and i had to retake a course and i’m just now going into algebra 1. is there any way i can finish both algebra 1 and geometry by next year ?

if you can find a way to do both at the same time you should be good, although i dont know how likely that’s possible. check in with your counselor about it!

Hey gaymers! It’s me Jeremy. I’m so sorry I haven’t been on in...........many months. I’m not dead, I just don’t use Tumblr for personal things so I just...slacked on checking it. But I’m back-for now! School started for me today, and as I said those many moons ago, we started using a program called Edio this year, so I’m no longer using Connexus Thank God this new program is much better...more interactive. With that said, I did just say “for now”. This is my senior year of school, so I really really Really want to focus on that more than anything. So I still really won’t check back here that often like I used to in the past. I’ll still try to answer your questions, but I also get overwhelmed easily so.....blease bare with me. If you want to take a crack at helping out and being mod if you’re planning to be fairly active for the gang, I don’t mind an ask off-anon saying so with information like your name/grade/what school/how long you’ve been going. If you’ve already started school and Also if you haven’t, good luck!! Stay focused, take your dang breaks if you need them, never be afraid to ask for help, and do your best! I love you all!

Hey, I don't know if you still use this account but I wanna go into connections academy but I was wondering if there are any requirements that you know of in order to be accepted there?

You just have to make sure you have all the paperwork applicable to your state when applying. For example, you need proper identification, address verification, health records, etc. etc. Other than that, it’s just a matter of completing and submitting the paperwork on time (I would recommend submitting no later than a month before the school’s start time). Some of the schools have enrollment caps, meaning if they reach a certain number of students enrolled by a certain time, you’ll probably be placed on a waitlist until a spot opens up. That’s why I recommend submitting your paperwork early, so you’re guaranteed a spot, should your school be using enrollment caps.
