I have been so friggin bored over break. Yesterday, I woke up and decided to chop some firewood. I went to my garage, got an axe, and split some firewood (will post pic tomorrow). I found it easier to split the wood when i was using the whole handle instead of only using a little bit. In other words, the farther away my hands were from the blade, the easier and more strength i had in splitting the wood. IS THAT MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE?!?!?!?!

You exert a force of 225 N on a lever to raise a 1.25 x 10^3 N rock a distance of 13 cm. If the efficiency of the lever is 88.7 %, how far did you move your end of the lever?
e = Wo/Wi x 100%
e = FrDr/FeDe x 100%
e = 88.7 %
Fr = 1.25 x 10^3 N
Dr = 0.13 m
Fe = 225 N
De = ?

De = FrDr x 100% / Fe x e
De = ((1.25 x 10^3) x 0.13 m x 100%) / 225 N x 88.7%
De = 0.81 m

Just fell down my stairs
I just cooked some cinna-bons because my mom went out to dinner and I was hungry. I was upstairs in my room and I heard the oven go off. I ran downstairs and low and behold, my PHYSICS REGENTS BOOK was on the landing. What happens? I slip on the book and fall into the kitchen. Now, with a sore hip and a headache, i have to do my physics homework. This all reminded me of when Mr. Love slipped on the skateboard and when i threw the bowling ball while on the skateboard. With every action, there is an opposite reaction.

Rangers Game
Just went to the rangers game with Dan Martin and Hank DeSanti. Should have spoke up when I saw it. BUT, whenever a player was checked up against the boards, the boards went back a little bit, but then came back and exerted force on the player. I don't know about you but i sense a little Newtons Third Law Action going on.
