I got to meet Steve Valentine at this year’s Magic City Con, and made goofy poses with him in my Grey Warden Alistair costume, since he was my funny battle buddy in Origins, and a normal, “nice” photo wasn’t going to cut it for me.

Props to him for humoring me.  That man is an absolute delight of a human, and I hope he makes it out to more cons in the future.

Lanterns That Look Like the Moon

Taiwanese design firm Acorn Studio recently announced a new lighting system that mimics the color and shape of a moon. Luna is a dimmable halogen light housed inside a glass fiber and non-toxic latex housing that comes in 7 different sizes ranging from 3.2″ to 23.6″ in diameter. (Source)

I was inspired by @squidbot_cosplay’s fun greebles on her Death Knight to make a health potion to wear on my belt with my crusader. So I found some $2 glass bottles at Michael’s, and filled one with dyed Smoothcast 326. I’d also seen @arkadycosplay’s glowing potion tutorial a while back, so I worked a LED in to make the color of the resin pop more (and being glowy is cool 😘). The LED is in the cork. The battery will be hidden in a pouch I add to carry my phone too.
