i love shounen, because it's so unrealistic
it's not likely that you'd be best friends with another after spending only a few weeks together, its not likely you'd keep in touch with your whole class until you become adults, it's not likely you'd even be friends with your entire class at all, it's not likely one is going to pursue another for years especially if they're on the opposite side, it's not likely you can stay kind even after losing almost everything, it's not likely someone you just met would save your life, it's not likely you can forever stay bright, or to continue to uphold the same values, to maintain consistency in all of your beliefs over a lifetime. but it's likely that the world is harsher than what you had initially thought as kids, it's likely that the brightness you have can only be obtained from physical, psychological or moral conflicts that you went through, it's likely that because of this brightness you feel you have to uphold, you unintentionally become more explosive, it's likely that hope may feel scarce at times, it's likely that you'd have to make morally compromising choices to survive, it's likely that society is oppressive, corrupt, and unequal.
so maybe if what you want is worthy of over 100 volumes, maybe it's a realistic genre after all
