Extended scene s2 ep5.

All these scenes that change the tone of characters and relationships…edited out. It makes me so mad. I just get the feeling that the US edits are made solely for the purpose of catering to the soap opera/reality tv audience by making everything about a love triangle or a dominant male thing. Or sex, but they won’t bloody show the sex they keep trying to make it about! Ugh.

See, now that is cute. And it shows more of Aslaug and Ragnar being happy together and that he does love her, which a lot of people still use as a reason to dump her and get back with Lagertha.

Except it doesn’t really show Ragnar loving Aslaug at all.  As you remember the tone of that scene leading up to this deleted scene was one of Ragnar talking about him not wanting Lagertha to go away and he can’t tell Lagertha what to do and Ragnar rolling his eyes at Aslaug being jealous of Lagertha and him kissing her on the forehead to placate Aslaug because Aslaug again just played the only card she has with Ragnar which is “I can give you more sons!”

And then it was a couple of scenes later where Ragnar basically went to Lagertha at Rollo and Siggy’s house and asked her to stay? Right? No, doesn’t show Aslaug and Ragnar being happy or him loving her as anything more than his broodmare.  Even in this scene, its not about Aslaug its about Ragnar being happy that ALL OF HIS SONS get along.

That said, I’d have liked to have seen Bjorn being playful and cute with Ubbe and Hvitserk. :-)
