"We shouldn't be doing this." The voice immediately caught Constance's attention as she peered her head around the corner, brows arched upwardly as she studied the seemingly bare room. "You shouldn't be using this as a method to improve your grades." The words came out in a whisper, a purr almost. It was then that her eyes fell onto the man that she had been hoping the voice hadn't belonged to despite a small part of her knowing it was no surprise.
He had been her Astrophysics professor. He had been her lover.
It was something that he had said was "exclusive" despite the fact that their exclusivity wasn't much due to the professionalism that the both of them had to maintain. It angered her more that a fellow pupil had the audacity to come to him in the hopes that he would give her a few more points on her grade just for her seduction. Constance hadn't thought to go that far, no. She had fell victim to the handsome, youthful professor who promised that they could be together, promised that they could be something.
All Constance could do was walk away with her head held high, walk away as though nothing had happened and seeing what she had just seen hadn't affected her. As she reached her vehicle, she practically tore the driver door open as she sat down in the leather seat, the tears finally streaming down her face. How could she have been so stupid to have believed that someone like him could've devoted himself wholly to her?
As she took off from the parking lot with tears clouding her vision, Constance headed to the only place she knew she could find some comfort and solace. Ellis. Turning onto the street where her aunt's home was situated, the petite blonde could barely see the road let alone the teenager that had begun to walk across the road. Although her foot had slammed on the break, it was almost to no avail, as the car collided with the boy.
Her heart stopped as she sat there for a moment, contemplating what to do next. To get out and assist the boy? To call for help? Her heart sunk as she decided what to do, her eyes burning from the tears that continued to fall. As she got off the phone with the ambulance, she tore out of the scene in a flash and headed to The Launceston Press offices. Although she had originally intended on seeing her aunt, she now had the full intention of seeing her uncle to prevent this story from getting out.
