Talking In Your Sleep - Richie x Eddie
notes: this is dedicated to my valadin fam whom without them this fic would have been written hours ago! shout out to my sleep talking roommate who gave me this idea for this fic and for Jana for saying that it was cute.
title is from the song Talking In Your Sleep by The Romantics
Word Count: 3K
Summary: Richie talks in his sleep and sometimes it’s not about a crocodile stealing his ice cream.
Richie had always talked in his sleep. Sometimes it was just soft mumbling and other times it was fully coherent sentences. Eddie had known this for a while now, ever since Richie started sleeping over.
Almost every night, Eddie would leave his window unlocked and Richie would slip through just after Sonia had gone to sleep. Each time Eddie would scold Richie, telling him that his mother would be worried sick if she knew that Richie had snuck out but that never stopped him. Onetime Eddie had asked him why he always came over and never slept at his own house, but Richie just brushed off the question, switching the subject. There wasn’t really any reason for Richie to leave his house at night, his home life was good, but he knew that Eddie’s wasn’t, and if Richie could give him at least a few hours of comfort each night he was going to make it happen.
It was just after ten o’clock and Eddie was lying in bed when he heard his window slide open. He sat up, looking at the opening and watched as Richie climbed inside. He stumbled as his foot got caught on the sill, almost falling right over and causing a thud.
“Shhh, Rich!” Eddie hissed from his bed. “You’re going to wake up my mom!”
Once he caught his balance, Richie toed off his shoes and placed them under the window. “Well I hope so! I told her I’d meet her in ten minutes!” He gave Eddie a wink as he slid the window closed.
“Gross, don’t say that!” Eddie groaned.
“Sorry Eds, but she’s the one for me.” Richie teased.
Eddie shook his head. “Don’t call me that either.” He shuffled his way back down in his bed to a laying position. “Now get over here you loser.”
Richie didn’t need to be told twice. He quickly discarded his hoodie and jeans, only his boxers and simple t-shirt left and carefully climbed into Eddie’s bed. Eddie pulled back the covers for him to slip under. After a moment, he was settled, and Eddie rolled over on his side to face him.
“How was your day?” Richie whispered.
“We spent the whole day together, Richie.” Eddie whispered back. “Better question would be how was the five hours we were apart?”
Richie rolled his eyes. “Okay well, how was the last five hours we were apart?” Richie asked.
Eddie shrugged. “Uneventful. Just had dinner with my mom and finished some math homework.”
“How are things with your mom?” Richie asked softly. She and Eddie had gotten into a fight over which schools he was going to apply to. Eddie wanted to go to California with Richie while she had wanted him to go to a school nearby, so she can still keep an eye on him.
“They’re okay. She’s still upset about it all.” Eddie replied. Richie lifted his hand up and reached out to gently brush away Eddie’s hair. “I don’t care though, I’m going to California whether she likes it or not.”
The statement made Richie smile. The future past high school wasn’t so far away anymore. University application deadlines were quickly approaching meaning that the end of the school year wasn’t far behind. The future scared Richie, it scared all of the losers, but knowing that he had his best friend with him helped his mind calm down.
The two boys continued talking, whispering about whatever came to their minds. Before long it was almost midnight and Richie was getting tired.
He let out a large yawn, scrunching up his face in the process. He pulled off his glasses and folded them up. “Can you put these on the table, please?” Eddie took them from his hands and rolled over to place them on his night stand before reaching up to flick off the small lamp as well.
Eddie rolled back over, and Richie’s arms instantly found his small body, pulling him closer. The gesture made Eddie’s stomach flutter. He reached his arm over Richie’s side, wrapping himself around him too. Eddie couldn’t help to wonder what all of this meant. Richie was his best friend, he had been their whole lives, but he knew that best friends don’t usually sleep in the same bed every night, let alone cuddle each other while doing so. His thoughts were flying around in his head when Richie’s soft mumble pulled him back.
“G’night, Eds.” Richie whispered softly before sleep took him over.
“Night, Chee.” Eddie whispered back, his thumb rubbing circles on Richie’s back.
It wasn’t long before Eddie was asleep too, his own tiredness pulling him under. He slept comfortably for a few hours, dreaming something of sunny days and tall grass. The image of sunflowers swaying rushed past his mind when he was abruptly pulled from his sleep by a knee in his back.
“Oomf.” Eddie let slip from his mouth as he was brought back awake. Rubbing his eyes, Eddie slightly turned over to check on Richie and saw that he was still asleep. He rolled over onto his side, so he was facing the raven haired boy and looked at him as he softly slept. Eddie couldn’t believe the boy in front of him who was so beautiful. He carefully lifted his hand to brush back a piece of hair that had fallen against his best friend’s eyes. His best friend.
Richie started to mumble which caused Eddie to quickly pull his hand back, holding it against his chest as he watched to see if Richie had woken up. Eddie watched him for a few moments, staring at his chest making sure his breathing was still steady before letting go of his breath that he was holding.
Eddie figured that he might as well go back to sleep also, they did have to get up early for school in the morning anyways. He let his eyes flutter close, the sound of Richie’s breathing pulling him back into a sleep when he heard Richie talk.
“But I don’t love him.” Richie said only above a whisper.
Eddie’s eyes flew open staring at Richie who had moved his head slightly on his pillow. Eddie swallowed. Curiosity got the better of him and knowing that sometimes Richie will have a whole conversation in his sleep, Eddie proceeded with great caution.
“Who do you love, Rich?” Eddie asked Richie with a soft voice.
Richie’s head rolled on the pillow again and Eddie noticed the stark contrast between his black curly locks and Eddie’s crisp white linen.
“You, Eddie.” Richie sighed.
Eddie’s breath hitched, his heart practically skipping a beat. “Holy shit.” Eddie exhaled, apparently too loudly as Richie started to stir, groaning as he rubbed his eyes.
“Eddie?” He mumbled behind his hands. “What’s wrong?”
Eddie rolled away from Richie and towards the darkness of the rest of his room. His thoughts were flying around in his head at a hundred miles an hour, refusing to slow down and land. His best friend had just said that he loved him. Sure, it was in his sleep, but his voice sounded so genuine. His best friend, the person he’s known his whole life, Richie Tozier, had said that he loved him, Eddie. Why did that bring such a smile to his face but also such panic to his heart. He shook his head slightly.
“Nothing, Rich. Go back to sleep.” Eddie could hear Richie shift in the bed, his hand gently resting against Eddie’s back. He waited for Richie’s breathing to even out again, signaling that he was once again asleep before finally allowing himself to follow suit.
The next time Eddie was woken up was because of his alarm clock yelling in his ear and an angry Richie tapping him on the arm as if saying turn that damn thing off, Kaspbrak. Eddie reached his arm out and smacked his hand around on his night stand, looking for the clock to shut it off. The sound shut off with a beep and Eddie sat up in his bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Richie reached forward, gathering as much blanket as he could and pulled it up over his head as he curled his body into a ball.
“Time to get up, Richie.” Eddie chimed, and he pulled the blanket back down.
The two boys got ready for school, Richie discreetly hopping out of Eddie’s window and down to his front door to walk Eddie to school. The walk was short and the two chit-chatted idly like always, but Eddie couldn’t help but shake the odd thoughts from his head.
“But I don’t love him.”
“Who do you love, Rich?”
“You, Eddie.”
The three lines kept repeating over and over again in his head until Eddie couldn’t hear anything but.
“You okay, Eds?” Richie asked. He had stopped walking and was looking ahead at Eddie who had only just noticed.
He shook his head. “Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” Eddie answered. “And I told you not to call me that.”
Richie’s eyebrows furrowed but he nodded his head anyway and continued walking next to Eddie.
The school day went by fast, probably because Eddie wasn’t paying attention to any of his lessons which was new for him. Eddie always payed attention, his eyes glued to the chalkboard at the front of the room. But today he couldn’t get over the idea that his best friend might love him. The thought made him giddy, butterflies erupting in his stomach.
He had never really thought about it before because you don’t think about being in love with your best friend. Yeah Richie was beautiful. The way his thick glasses perfectly enhanced the big blue eyes that hid behind. The way Richie had gone through his growth spurt last year leaving Eddie behind by almost a foot but in a way that made Eddie feel safer when he was around him. The way Eddie felt when Richie slid through his window each night with a thud and a smile erupting something within Eddie’s heart.
Fuck.
Eddie was in love with Richie too.
The final bell rang for the day and Eddie rushed to his locker, grabbing the books he needed and dumping out the ones he didn’t before slamming the door ad heading for the exit. Richie quickly stopped before he could get away, wondering why he was in such a rush.
“Just, come over like usual, okay?” Eddie asked with a sincere voice.
Richie nodded his head, his mouth turning into a smile. “Of course.”
And with that Eddie Kaspbrak had left the building.
Eddie sat on his bed anxiously, his legs crossed neatly on top of his duvet. Glancing at his clock he could see that it was 10:13PM and Richie should be due through his window at any minute. Eddie had rushed home and finished all of his homework, so nothing would be stopping him once Richie came over. His heart was beating a million beats a second and he could feel the blood rushing through his head. But Eddie was feeling brave, something he hadn’t felt in a long time.
He looked down at his hands, pressing them into each other to stop them from shaking, when he heard his window slide open and Richie’s routine thud against his floor.
“Hey, Eds!” Richie smiled as he toed off his shoes before moving over to Eddie’s bed.
“Hi.” Eddie smiled. Richie plopped down onto the mattress, shuffling over to sit directly in front of Eddie, mirroring his placement.
“Why so serious?” Richie asked. He gently placed his hand on Eddie’s leg in front of him sending a jolt of energy through Eddie.
He took a deep breath. “Remember how you talk in your sleep?” Eddie asked.
Richie laughed. “Yeah, remember that time I was shouting about Stan trying to take my ice cream and feed it to an alligator! That was a wild one!”
Eddie laughed at the memory. That night Richie had woken him up with a rough slap on the arm thinking that he was Stan. Richie apologized profusely the next morning about that one. “Yes I do, but that’s not what I want to talk about.” Eddie let out a small sigh before continuing. “Last night you said something and when I asked you continued to talk back.”
Richie nodded his head slowly.
“And so, I want to know if you meant it out of your sleep too.” Eddie added.
“If it was about me banging your mom, I’m sorry Eds, but it’s all true. In fact, has she gone to bed yet? She told me to just waltz in once I got here!” Richie teased.
“No, that’s fucking disgusting, beep Richie.” Eddie groaned. This wasn’t how he hoped this conversation would go. He should have thought better, Richie never knew when to shut up or say the right thing. “You said that you love me, last night.” Eddie said.
“But you know your mom is the only Kaspbrak for me!” Richie laughed.
“I’m being serious Richie!” Eddie blurted out with a ting of frustration.
The smile fell from Richie’s face. “Eds.”
“Did you mean it? Do you love me, Richie?” Eddie pleaded. Richie turned his head away, looking anywhere but Eddie’s face. Eddie started to panic. Richie didn’t love him. It was all just a dream. Eddie had thought this through way too much. Richie always said things he didn’t mean, this was just another one to add to the list. Richie didn’t love Eddie back.
“Wait, never mind.” Eddie spat out flustered. “Pretend I didn’t say anything, it was stupid to even bring it up, I should have known you didn’t feel the same.” Eddie slapped his hand over his mouth when he heard the last part that he had let slip.
Richie was looking at him now with wide eyes. “Feel the same?” He asked. Eddie felt frozen. “As in, love you back?”
Eddie nodded his head ever so slightly.
Richie’s lips quickly spread into a full out smile, his eyes lighting up like the sun reflecting off of the ocean. “Well fuck, Eds!” He reached out and pulled Eddie’s hand down from his mouth. “Of course I love you back.”
“You do?” Eddie asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Richie nodded his head big. “Why else would I have been flirting with you for the past three years?” Eddie’s eyes widened in surprise. “Or snuck out to sleep over every night, risking a heart attack from my mother if she found out!” Eddie didn’t know what to say, he felt like his heart had doubled in size for the idiot in front of him. “I know I talk in my sleep and its mostly crazy bullshit, but Eds,” he paused to grab Eddie’s hand, holding it tight in his. “That one was true.”
Eddie couldn’t help but smile wide. He couldn’t believe this was happening. “You’re an idiot. How in the hell is talking about fucking my mom considered flirting in any way?” He asked, squeezing Richie’s hand.
“It was a metaphor.” Richie shrugged. Eddie had no idea what he meant but he didn’t really care.
The two boys smiled fondly at each other for a moment before Eddie realized what time it was and that they should at least get ready to sleep. They both changed, cheeks flushed as the other subtly snuck glances of each other with their shirts off before climbing under Eddie’s duvet. They were nestled in each other’s arms, limbs tangled up together.
“It worked though, didn’t it?” Richie whispered to Eddie, their faces only inches apart.
“What did?” Eddie asked. Richie could see how his eyebrows scrunched up in the moonlight of his room.
“The jokes about your mom, you still liked me anyways.” Richie explained.
“Beep beep, Richie.” Eddie rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah.” Richie mumbled before tilting his head slightly to place a soft kiss on Eddie’s forehead.

Okay, so
Finn playing a non straight character is really exciting! whether it’s his new movie or if it’s the new It movie or mike wheeler or whatever, that’s really cool. but what i’m really worried about is people sexualizing him even more and invading his privacy even more. it’s already happening but i have a feeling that i know that people are gonna start coming up with these theories and have “evidence” that finn is aCtUalLy gaY!1!1! you guys seriously need to respect him and know that finn is not the characters he plays. he is not richie. he is not mike. he is FINN. AN ACTUAL HUMAN. WHO IS FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. you know he said he gets uncomfortable when you ship him with his friends and call him d addy. so that should be a pretty good indicator to stop. you don’t get to assume shit about his personal life. to the people who are sexualizing him, invading his privacy, calling him derogatory names, making fun of his anxiety, and, really, harassing him, stop it. it’s gross. don’t assume anything. learn your place. know that finn isn’t a fictional character. know he is underage. know that he is a fucking human being.
can i get uhhhhhhh respect for finn wolfhard’s privacy and personal boundaries
Stop
Listen, people need to stop shipping Fillie and Fack, you would never ship the actors, ship the characters they play! Like Reddie or/and Mileven. It’s so disrespectful to ship actors that work together a lot, like Fillie, they still have to do Season 3 Stranger Things and they have to watch every move they make around each other so Fillie shippers won’t flip the fuck out. They have an amazing friendship and they’ve seen distance, especially at the Golden Globes… I ship Mileven and Reddie so hard but I will never be so disrespectful to ship fack and/or Fillie, let them be friends and friends only.

Word Count: 2816
Summary: As soon as they pulled into Richie’s driveway he grabbed Eddie’s arm so he could not exit the car yet. He stared at Eddie’s face for way too long, trying to deduce how he could explain the huge fucking mistake he’d made. “For the next three weeks,” Richie couldn’t possibly bear to look in Eddie’s eyes as the next words tumbled out of his trashmouth, “you have to pretend to be my boyfriend.”
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
It had been exactly two days since Eddie had constructed the blanket fort and it has yet to come down. Richie and Eddie found that most of their time was occupied under the purple glow of the christmas lights trying hard not to touch each other but still breathing in as much of the other as they can. By 3:15 in the afternoon they had already finished the entire Beverly Hills Chihuahua trilogy and four bags of popcorn. To Eddie’s dismay Richie had decided that they absolutely had to watch The Ring next. He set up the DVD in the player and turned to join Eddie in bed again, only to be faced with the smaller boys uneasy glare. Richie shuffled back up to his previous spot and loosely draped his arm around Eddie’s shoulders.
“Don’t worry, Eds. I won’t let anything getcha!” he poked at Eddie’s side, to which Eddie just groaned.
Throughout the movie, Eddie had managed to slump further and further into Richie. Not that he was complaining, it gave him the chance to feel the smaller boy’s rapidly beating heart and the weight of his body against him. At every jumpscare he could feel Eddie’s body tense, and that gave him an excuse to pull him closer until they were practically laying on top of one another.
They had made it halfway through the movie without any major meltdowns. Richie had opted not to call Eddie’s phone in the middle of the film like he was planning to, knowing it would only freak him out even more. Their eyes became glued to the screen as they watched the girl slowly make her way through a room and towards a chair. Both Eddie and Richie could tell there was something in the chair, and were not too keen on finding out what. The girl ever so slowly turned it around and there was a flash of a man’s face with his head brutally torn in half at the jaw before the screen went black. The christmas lights shut out and all noise was gone save for the howling of the wind outside. That and Richie’s screaming.
“Richie, shut the fuck up.”
“What the fuck just happened?!” Richie was waving his arms around wildly in the pitch black looking for Eddie to grasp onto.
“The power’s out, dumbass.”
“That could not have been a more convenient time to cut out the power.”
Suddenly Richie’s phone began to ring and he moved to chuck it across the room. Eddie grabbed his arm and snatched the phone from his hand, “Answer it, you stupid idiot.”
“Are you kidding me, Eddie? After what we were just watching? What if that’s–”
“I swear to God, Richie,” Eddie let out a heavy sigh, “It’s just a movie. Now answer it.”
Richie quickly shook his head, his eyes like saucers. Eddie just scoffed at him and pressed the answer button before holding the phone up to his own ear, “Hello?”
All that was heard on the other line was some woman’s heavy breathing. Eddie’s blood ran cold.
“Hello?” he tried again, “Is anyone there?”
The line seemed to go silent, and Eddie was about to hang up when he heard a broken voice whispering, “seven days.”
Eddie began to shake. His eyes flew to Richie’s which seemed like they were going to pop out of his head. He could still hear the heavy breathing on the other line that was sending chills down his spine.
Surely someone must be fucking with us.
“Hello?” he sounded frantic, “Who the fuck is this?!”
He didn’t know whether to be relieved or pissed off when he heard laughing on the other end of the line. It was Maggie Tozier, “I’m sorry, Richie. I knew you were watching The Ring and I wanted to take the opportunity to scare you!”
“This is Eddie.”
“Oh! Sorry, dear, you sound just like him.”
He really didn’t.
“Well either way I just wanted to let you two know that most everyone in the neighborhood has lost power and our backup generators aren’t turning on. Went is starting a fire if you’d like to come stay warm. There’s a lot of snow out there! It’s gonna get cold fast.”
“Okay, Mrs. Tozier. Thanks, we’ll be down soon,” Eddie hung up and immediately shot a glare at Richie, “Can you tell your mom not to be so goddamn scary next time she calls?”
“As soon as she decides to listen to me I will do just that, Spaghetti Man.”
The first thing Richie decided to do after shrugging on some comfortable clothes and padding his way downstairs, Eddie in tow, was run to the front door to see just how much snow had come down. He had been holding onto Eddie’s hand, but as soon as he reached for the front door he felt him put all his weight into stopping Richie.
“Richie, there is no fucking way either of us are going outside wearing just sweats.”
Richie looked back and just shrugged, wiggling out of Eddie’s grasp, “Suit yourself,” he reached again for the door and swung it open. The blizzard was still raging with a thin veil of white blocking Richie’s vision in either direction. At least two feet of snow had piled up on the covered porch and two extra feet of snow blanketed every other open surface. All that could be seen was white. Richie let out a wild yelp and dove into the snow.
“Richie!” Eddie was still inside, shaking from the cold and giving him a death glare.
“Come on in, Eds. The water’s fine!” he jokingly ‘splashed’ about in the snow.
“Goddammit, you’re turning blue!”
As much as Richie hated to agree with Eddie, he was feeling his skin begin to numb and he reluctantly shuffled back into the house, muttering that Eddie was “no fun” the entire time. They made their way to the coat closet and Richie threw on his dad’s winter jacket. Eddie, however, bundled up in a sweater, a scarf, Richie’s old winter jacket from eighth grade as well as his old snow pants, a Patriots hat that lit up, gloves and mittens, and a pair of clunky snow boots.
“You look like Randy from A Christmas Story.”
“Shut your fucking mouth. At least I’m not about to freeze my balls off.”
“Not like you have any to freeze off.”
“Just go outside, fuckass.”
They trudged through the snow around Richie’s house to his large backyard. Richie immediately threw his body down into the snow due to the pure exhaustion of the walk. He felt the powder start seeping into his pants and almost felt bad for making fun of Eddie for his getup. Almost. Eddie busied himself with the task of building a snowman right beside Richie’s head. He started by attempting to roll out a base. The ball was oblong and had a few dirt spots but that didn’t stop Eddie from trying his damnedest to smooth out the lumps. It was difficult for Richie to focus on the cold around him when he could instead look at Eddie’s red-tinted cheeks. His face was scrunched up and his tongue was sticking out the same way it would when he was teaching Richie the ukulele. Richie swore if he caught fire at this moment he wouldn’t even pay any mind. It’s so goddamned hard to notice anything else but him.
At the same time, however, Richie found it absolutely ridiculous that Eddie had the sudden urge to build a snowman in his yard. Bundled in Richie’s old clothes with a light-up hat on top of that. Of course he had to build a fucking snowman.
“Hey, Eddie?”
“Yeah, Rich?”
“I have a question.”
“What is it?”
“I was just wondering…”
“Spit it out for Christ’s sake.”
“Do you wanna build a snowman?” Richie began singing and Eddie made quick to kick a pile of snow at him. He brushed it off of his jacket and reached for a pile of snow to form into a ball. Eddie’s eyes widened and he quickly shot up to start running to the other end of the yard.
Thus ensued the most vicious snowball fight of the season. Neither one of them had very good aim, and their snowballs more often than not would disintegrate in mid flight, yet they still managed to tear up the perfect blanket of snow. Eddie’s shouts at Richie to “go suck a fuck” and Richie questioning how exactly he might do that rang through the seemingly abandoned neighborhood. The fight seemed well and done when Eddie hurled a particularly solid hunk of snow at Richie, which managed to nail him square on the face.
In reality, the hit must have only stung a little bit, but Richie mustered all the overdramatic forces in his body to fall back into the snow as if he’d been shot. Eddie knew he was fine, but came running over to pander to him anyways.
“Richie, I’m sorry. Are you okay?” The impact had left his face a bright red, but it was nothing to be concerned about.
“You’ve killed me. I’m dead.”
“Stop being a drama queen. Let’s go back inside and warm up. It’ll help.”
“No, it won’t. I’m in too much pain.”
A sigh escaped Eddie’s lips, “What will help?”
“I don’t know,” except Richie did know, he knew exactly what would help, “Kiss it better.”
Much to Richie’s surprise, Eddie was fully intent on kissing it better. It all happened so fast that Richie’s heart couldn’t catch up. Eddie grasped Richie’s face in both of his fully-gloved hands and began peppering kisses all over his face. He pressed one to his nose, both his eyelids, and several on each cheek. God, Richie thought, can’t I just live in this?
However, God was not too kind to Richie as Eddie eventually stopped. His face was still so close to Richie’s that he could taste his breath, “Better?”
“What was that for?” Richie breathed out, when he found the breath to do so.
Eddie leaned down and pressed another slow, lingering kiss to Richie’s lips. He kept them lightly against Richie’s as he explained that “Your mom is looking at us through the kitchen window.” The brush of Eddie’s lips against his made Richie shiver, as did the statement that, if true, would only affirm 100% that Eddie was not interested in Richie.
He turned his head to confirm Eddie’s statement. Maggie Tozier was, in fact, wandering about in the kitchen and stealing quick glances at the two boys. Richie felt his stomach turn. Why am I fooling myself? He felt his body go numb as Eddie’s hand against his cheek guided their lips back together into one final kiss.
They spent a little while longer outside, but Richie was only half-heartedly into it. It was not hard for Eddie to tell. They made their way back inside and peeled off their outer layers. Richie went upstairs to retrieve a few blankets, telling Eddie he could stay put in front of the fire. They both huddled together underneath the blankets as soon as he returned. But Richie wanted to be closer. He knew that he could, considering that his mother was just in the kitchen and his father was reading the paper and shooting them glares from the couch. Richie thought he had already overstepped his boundaries for the day.
Nonetheless, the feeling of Eddie’s head on his shoulder made him feel weightless. Richie found it difficult not to steal glances at Eddie. The light from the fire was throwing shadows across his cheeks. He swore that the embers caused Eddie’s entire face to glow like some ethereal being. The luminescence danced across his skin and the sight was heavenly to Richie. He wanted to let Eddie know. He thought that maybe it was alright that he could.
“You look so beautiful,” Richie whispered into Eddie’s hair.
Richie assumed for a minute that Eddie hadn’t heard, until he felt Eddie’s arm snake around his waist and pull him closer.
They stayed in that position for another few minutes. Richie couldn’t breathe. Everywhere that Eddie was on him became electrified and his heartbeat was erratic throughout his skin and his veins. Oh, what this boy can do to me.
“Hey, Eds?” he managed when he found the breath to do so.
“Yeah, Rich?”
“I feel like we’ve met before,” Eddie lifted his head from Richie’s shoulder and looked at him, confused. Richie just began to card his fingers through Eddie’s hair rather than look him in the eye, “I mean, I feel like I’ve known you forever. Before college and maybe even before I was born. It’s like our souls belonged to each other before we found each other, y’know? And that even if we leave each other or even when we die we’ll still be together. Does that make any sense?”
Richie could feel his heartbeat in his throat. Hell, he could just hardly make out the words he was saying to Eddie. Eddie was just staring at him like he had two heads and Richie considered that maybe saying that was the worst decision he’d ever made in his life. Alright, goddammit, he thinks I’m some sort of crazy person now.
“I’m sorry. That was dumb,” Richie started to remove himself from Eddie, “And awkward. Just forget I said–”
“No, Richie,” Eddie moved to intertwine his fingers with the hand that had just left his head, “I know exactly what you mean.”
Richie willed himself to lock eyes with Eddie and the world stopped. All he could hear was the blood rushing under his skin. All he could feel was the electric touch of Eddie’s hand against his and the way it made his bones shake. And all he could see was the only thing he wanted to see. Eddie’s gentle gaze encaptured Richie’s entire being and made him feel safe. Even though he was surrounded by four walls and a roof, Eddie was his sanctuary.
Suddenly Eddie was reaching to cup Richie’s cheek in his hands and Richie was panicking. If Eddie kissed him one more time he thought he might lose it.
“You know what we should do?”
“Hmm? What’s that?”
“We should eat all the ice cream in the freezer so it doesn’t melt.”
Eddie immediately dropped his hands from Richie’s face, “Are you kidding me, Richie? It’s fucking cold!”
“Not cold enough to keep ice cream from melting!”
Eddie knew there was little he could do to keep Richie from dragging him to the fridge, so he didn’t make a big show of being upset about it. They each grabbed an armful of ice cream cartons and made their way back to their previous position. Eddie began on a half eaten strawberry ice cream container while Richie opened a brand new rocky road.
They spent the next hour finishing upwards of seven total ice cream cartons and guessing the ending of The Ring, making wild gestures and managing to scare themselves in the process. Eddie had found his way onto Richie’s lap and would feed him spoonfuls of his raspberry swirl ice cream whenever he had a brain freeze or his stomach would get too upset. It had been 5 minutes and Eddie had been continuously scooping the dessert into Richie’s mouth rather than his own.
“Eddie, I know you know I love eating out of your hands, but don’t you want some? The carton’s almost gone.”
“I know,” Eddie looked dejected down at the almost-empty container, “My lips are just super cold.”
Richie’s stomach started doing the flips it usually did right before he said something stupid, “I can fix that for you.”
He hesitated for half a second while Eddie’s wide eyes shot to his, but his lips were on Eddie’s faster than he could think fuck it.
Eddie’s hands found their way back to Richie’s cheeks and he felt the taller boy exhale with his whole body. Their breaths quickly mingled together. Richie pushed the ice cream away and coaxed Eddie’s hips to straddle his own. All the while, Richie was running his tongue over Eddie’s admittedly cold lips and Eddie was tugging on his long, black curls. Eddie’s weight fell heavy on Richie’s body as they both yearned to get as close as possible. Each soft kiss Eddie would drag onto Richie’s bottom lip made his heart palpitate faster and faster. As Eddie wet his lips against Richie’s own, each boy swear they had reached nirvana. The pure euphoria and the quaking of his body only made Richie press his lips harder into Eddie’s. Eddie was the only one who could make him this dizzy.
In that moment, for Richie, everything was Eddie. Everything he wanted and felt and tasted. He only hoped Eddie felt the same way.

Unbelievable.
I WAITED A WHOLE YEAR TO REBLOG THIS
TBH ppl on this website have a troubling tendency to act like autistic people are just being cringey and dramatic for no reason when we’re displaying our literal symptoms, or class us as Disabled Lite™️ while accepting mental illnesses as valid & deserving of compassion (even if sometimes misguidedly)….
idk what the fuck is up with that but like i’m glad that ppl have started avoiding words like insane or psycho or delusional as an insult etc but like y’all also need to stop making copypasta memes of autistic people replying to harassment with a “weird” tone of voice, you need to stop making “let’s oppress [fandom with a large autistic population]” jokes, you need to stop doubting us when we say we’re having a meltdown, you need to stop disrespecting our boundaries, you need to stop stealing our language, you need to stop ignoring us when we say we need you to be more clear/indicate sarcasm and jokes/tell us outright when you need things from us, you need to stop making fun of us for not getting the joke, you need to stop making fun of us for responding to you seriously when you “meant it as a joke,” you need to stop commenting on our speech patterns, you need to extend your anti-ableist attitude to us too
You Didn’t Say It Back
MERRY CHRISTMAS or HAPPY HOLIDAYS @ssettespettri !! I’m so sorry it’s a little late, but I wanted it to be perfect! I hope you love it! <3

Richie Tozier knew that he cared about Eddie Kaspbrak.
And that was one of the only things that Richie was absolutely certain of.
So when Eddie had come bounding up to the Losers one cool Friday evening, papers in hand and a smile on his face so wide it made Richie’s heart swell, he smiled too.

finn and jack’s friendship is the cutest thing and just shows that they can be affectionate and loving and caring despite the toxic masculinity in the society they’ve been brought up in, so stop fucking ruining this beautiful FRIENDship by shipping them romantically. you’re literally reinforcing the reason why toxic masculinity is a problem - let boys be affectionate with their friends without the fear of being harassed and shipped with each other.
this applies to fillie too. NEWSFLASH: boys and girls can actually be friends and not have a thing for each other. mind blowing, i know. you can already see that finn/millie are afraid to act like friends because ppl get the wrong idea all the time. the fact that millie had delete a post of them together because people took it the wrong way exemplifies this. hopefully they don’t let it ruin the amazing friendship and chemistry they have because of you fillie shipping headasses.
Okay, so this fandom has gone way too far. Like, I’m a Reddie shipper, a Stozier, a Stenbrough, etc, but do not take it as far to ship the actors this badly. This has already been discussed in the ST fandom with ‘Fillie’, but now you guys are hating on a child for loving someone. Now, I hate having to bring up this drama but it’s not being discussed. Ellie Hiyar is a sweet girl, and you shall not call yourself a fan of Jack, or IT in general, if you criticize her for dating Jack Grazer. Yeah, he’s an actor, so what? That doesn’t mean she’s using him. Some people are literally making up Instagram DMs because they ship 'Fack’ not 'Jellie’. Ellie does not deserve this, and neither does Jack. I love the cast and this fandom with all of my heart, trust me, and I hate to see their family and friends being accused of using them to get famous. It shocks me that this fandom has gotten so bad, and so mean, that people are leaving it because they don’t like the fans. Now, I will not let fans bother me enough to make me hate this beautiful movie, miniseries, and astounding book. But, I just want anyone who’s reading this to know, Fack is just a ship. You can ship Reddie, but just because Finn doesn’t ship Reddie or Fack, and Jack doesn’t ship Fack, you cannot attack them, no matter what. I’m just fucking shocked of how this fandom turned out. It blows my fucking mind of how much hate they are getting just because of a ship.

“What did you ask Santa for Christmas?”
The leaves crunch beneath Eddie and Richie’s feet as they walk. A giggle escapes Eddie’s throat. He taunts, “You still believe in Santa Claus?”
“Of course not. But I still write to him in hopes that one day I’ll get the will to live. That’s what I asked him for. What did you ask for?”
Eddie ignores him, “Richie, shut up. That’s not funny.”
Richie slings an arm around Eddie’s shoulders, “Your mom thinks I’m funny.”
“Funny looking, maybe.”
“You think you’re so slick, don’t you?”
Eddie smiles in his friend’s direction. “Of course I do. Because I am.”
Richie shakes his head. “This is why you’re my favorite,” he doesn’t say anything after, shoving his hands in his coat pockets, trying to warm them up.
“Your favorite?”
“Yeah,” Richie shrugs, thinking of what to say next, but his mind draws a blank. “Yeah,” he repeats.
“Okay.” Eddie shifts closer to Richie, “Where are we going again?”
“We’ve got to stop at Stan’s and pick up my spare key. It broke in half when I tried to unlock the front door.”
“Right, right. Dumbass.”
“Hey! It wasn’t my fault,” Richie protests.
“I’m sure..” Eddie isn’t. “Anyway, why couldn’t we have taken your truck? It’s like.. Negative asshole degrees outside.”
“Stan only lives right down the street. Besides, it’s getting dark, the neighbors will be turning their lights on soon. Don’t be a bah-humbug, look at the lights.”
“I’m not a bah-humbug, thank you very much.” Eddie huffs, “I just rather not be freezing my ass off.”
“Want me to warm it up for you?” Richie leans in Eddie’s space, jokingly.
Eddie laughs, pushing him away. “You’re disgusting.”
“Disgusting, sure. The love of your life? Probably.” Definitely. He’s definitely the love of Eddie Kaspbrak’s life.
Eddie looks at Richie and doesn’t say anything. He hopes that Richie hasn’t caught on to his lack response. He coughs to try and cover up the silence that’s fallen between them, “Let’s just get your stupid key. I’m cold and I want hot chocolate. Will you make me some when we get home?” Home. Eddie doesn’t even live there. He’s got his own small apartment. But if he’s honest, he might as well live with Richie. He’s at Richie’s more than he is at his own.
“Sure, bug.” Richie pinches Eddie’s cheek, “Only because you’re so cute.”
Eddie doesn’t smack his hands away.
The two get back to Richie’s apartment a mere half hour later, Eddie insisting on rushing back, so they could be on time to watch Rudolph together.
“Here,” Richie says softly, handing Eddie a mug of hot chocolate. “It’s the kind with the peppermint flakes added in. I know you like it better than the original.”
Eddie’s heart skips a beat, “thanks, Richie.”
Richie sits next to him, turning the television on, switching the channel to Freeform, their show only just starting. He shifts his position, laying his head in Eddie’s lap, trying not to watch him instead of the TV. Eddie’s hand almost instinctively moves to Richie’s hair, tangling his fingers in it, playing with the curls.
“You know what I don’t get?” Eddie asks, minutes later.
“What’s that?”
“If Santa knows everything, why didn’t he know that Rudolph was getting bullied?”
Richie snorts, “Santa isn’t God.”
“He might as well be if he’s going to sneak into my house.”
Richie rolls his eyes, fixating them back to the Christmas program.
“Eddie, wake up.”
Eddie’s eyes shoot open and he sits further up on the couch, yawning. “What time is it?”
A pause.
“Almost two-thirty.”
“We slept through Rudolph?” Eddie whines, his shoulders slumping.
“I guess we did,” Richie says. He stands up and walks to the window, stretching. “Hey, Eds. It’s snowing, come look.”
Eddie blinks, standing up slowly. He pads over to Richie, staring out the window. “It’s so peaceful,” he comments.
“The snow?”
“Yeah. Especially when you wake up in the middle of the night and see it suddenly covering everything.”
Neither of them move, but then suddenly Eddie is grabbing his coat off the back of one of the chairs at the island in the kitchen, shoving his feet into his shoes, and bolting to the door.
“Eddie, where are you going?”
“Going to play in the snow, duh.”
Richie watches Eddie fling the door open, nearly falling down the steps. He laughs and puts his own coat and shoes on, following Eddie outside and shutting the door behind him. The sky is dark, no stars in sight, just snowflakes falling around them.
Eddie’s in the front yard, making snow angels. “Come on, Richie!”
“You’re crazy, Eds!” Richie calls back. He watches Eddie sit up and turn around. “What?”
“Come join me,” and before Richie can reply, Eddie’s drags him further into the yard..
“You’re crazy,” he repeats.
“No, I’m not. I’m just having fun,” Eddie bends down, picking up a handful of snow, the street light illuminating his face, showing off his smirk. He’s slowly balling it in his bare hands.
Richie’s eyes widen, “What are you do-”
The ball hits him on his chest.
“Alright,” Richie says, leaning down to grab some snow. “You’re fuckin’ dead,” and suddenly he’s chasing Eddie, throwing snowball after snowball at him, missing him every time.
“This is why you didn’t make the baseball team, Richard! You suck at throwing balls!”
Richie grunts, extending his arm to take hold of Eddie’s waist, throwing him into the snow. Eddie grasps onto Richie’s forearm before he falls, and the taller boy topples onto him.
“You suck at throwing balls,” Eddie says again, softly. And as quick as Richie had fell, the atmosphere changes between them just as fast.
“So I’ve been told.” One of Richie’s hands is buried in the snow, next to Eddie. The other one reaches up to brush some snow off of his cheek.
“You’re on top of me.” Eddie says, seeing the look in Richie’s eyes change.
“Okay,” Richie nods, “Am I hurting you?”
“No.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.” Eddie doesn’t tell him to move. He doesn’t want him to move.
Richie’s eyes flicker down to Eddie’s lips for a split second, and then back to the other boy’s, searching for anything that could deter him from kissing him in this very moment. Eddie’s eyes are curious and inviting.
“You’re beautiful, Eddie Kaspbrak,” Richie whispers.
“No,” Eddie shakes his head, “That’s you,” and snakes his hand up to Richie’s neck, pulling him down gently. He presses his lips to his friend’s, a feeling of warmth spreading inside of him, despite the snow seeping through his pajama bottoms.
They kiss long and slow, ignoring the cold, not wanting to part from one another, not wanting to stop.
“Let’s go inside,” Richie says against Eddie’s mouth.
“Yeah, okay.”
“There’s a nice, warm, blanket that’s folded on the couch and it’s calling our name,” Richie grins, standing up, pulling Eddie up with him. He intwines their fingers.
“What’s it saying?” Eddie bemuses.
“It’s telling me that we should cuddle and kiss some more.”
Eddie smiles, turning his head to press a chaste kiss to Richie’s clothed shoulder. “I think we should.”
“I think so, too.”

For all of you being childish and sharing memes about how the internet will be the same if Net Neutrality is repealed; that isn’t the issue here. The issue is that 83% of the ENTIRE population was against this happening, yet it happened anyways.
The issue was that Ajit Pai was a former Verizon employee who was paid over $100 million from the telecom cooperation’s to repeal this, along with his two constituents. The issue is that the fate of the entire country was decided by 5 rich people and did not allow any hearing from the public.
The issue is that there were over 2 million identities stolen (including the identity of dead people) to post comments in favor of repealing Net Neutrality, 1.9 million of them which were confirmed fake and have legal investigation cases being opened on them for being fraud as well as identity theft.
The issue is that they were asked to halt this vote because of the illegal happenings so that they could have time to investigate it, INCLUDING Republican’s, and they were denied.
The issue is that when giving their ‘reasons’ as to why they thought repealing it was needed, they gave no VALID reasons and did not even acknowledge any of the reasons that the public was worried. In extension, they made no attempts to quell them, they just called us stupid. Instead they all made jokes and laughed, turning themselves into the victims for being rightfully criticized for being sellouts.
The issue is that they constantly poked fun at how idiotic they thought we were acting, even though we have legitimate, valid concerns. Even though we’re mostly concerned about those of us who have our livelihood’s of our businesses on the line, they instead pointed fun saying ‘we can still watch cat videos and share memes’ (legit something that was actually said in their ‘argument’ yesterday). And that was literally all they said. The issue is that there wasn’t even a ‘debate’, despite the corruption being brought to everyone’s attention, and the evidence of the American people not wanting this.
The issue is that this sets the stance that we are willing to let the cooperation’s or anyone with money do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it. This issue is more than just internet freedom. It’s about democracy. And if you can’t see that, you’re beyond help. #SaveNetNeutrality
