my favourite post in the whole wide world
maybe the basis of the problem comes down to the fact that people are trying to solve, cure, overcome that sense of loneliness instead of sitting with it and getting comfortable, familiar, and okay with it. idk. it’s like intellectualizing your emotion instead of feeling it and treating it like a condition to be managed instead of something humans just feel sometimes because it’s the way it goes, it’s what we do. it’s a feeling like any other, it’s fleeting like any other feeling is fleeting. just take it on for what it is, listen to some leonard cohen or radiohead about it, go on meandering walks about it, stay up at odd hours about it, and eventually, you’ll see it finds out where the door is so it can come and go
the idea that a sex scene in fiction is fundamentally useless/simply for audience titillation UNLESS they’re fucking infodumping exposition while they bone or something is so funny and myopic to me. like, you really genuinely believe for real that there is NOTHING to be gained about your understanding of a story or characters simply from how they approach and engage in sex? really for real?

I’m blogging for the girls who desperately wanted to be Amma, only to realize they were Camille all along.
