♕ — Mary was relieved to hear that. She had a rather long and trying day with inconsiderate customers, and all she wanted to do with close up shop and just relax. She looked over and tilted her head a bit as she thought over his inquiry. “The only book that would be any help with that would be Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” she replied and set the books in hand down. She made her way over to the proper aisle and scanned over the titles until she found what she was looking for. “You’re in luck, we have one copy left.” She summoned the book to her and held it up for him to see. “Nifflers are tricky. Adorable but sticky little thieves,” she said with a hint of a chuckle. “Make sure nothing shiny you don’t want to be stolen is out of their line of sight. You’ll never see it again.”
“Thank you.” Moody reached out, taking the book from the other and looking it over briefly. He never had too much of an interest in creatures--- pets or otherwise, it was too much to take care of. He likely should’ve gone to Dorcas since this was right up her alley, but he knew the other would likely poke fun at him for the leading cause of his aggravation throughout his work day being a harmless Niffler. “I’ll get it.” Walking over to the counter, Alastor set the book down for Mary to ring up. “And I seemed to have already made that crucial mistake. I have a pocket watch I keep in my desk and it’s disappeared on me. Not usually one for sentimental items, but it’s important enough for me to try to get back.”
