concerning contraband kids!

ok!!!! so before the site opens, i think we should make several things clear!!!

even though it has the same name as the tumblr rp, ck 2.0 is not going to be the same site? because of the inherently different natures of tumblr rps and forums rps, ja feel. so even though we’re taking some of the same ideas (and in some cases, characters) from the rp, our aim is to make this a more ~sophisticated version and attract better quality writing and rp’ing. obviously those of you who’ve been with us from the beginning are quality, but we want the new members to be on par with us as well!! and we just want to this to be a super awesome quality site in general!!!

that being said, the site is also going to be run a little differently than before, and we’re going to be instating a few new rules (one of which being that the site will be models-only, contrary to what i said before — sorry about the confusion — but there are a loooot of quality models out there, so i don’t think you’ll have a problem finding a good fc!). you don’t have to like these rules, but we’re not forcing you to join either, so please respect that! 

lastly, please don’t pre-reserve canons or faces in the tag before we open reserves! it puts people off from characters/faces they might’ve wanted and it’s a little unfair. so please refrain from doing that!!!

A lot of responsibilities are placed on the shoulders of young women these days, and to say that Veronica Vaisey found it easy to ignore them when she was younger would be an understatement. Her father, in particular, wanted her to do just about everything she hated most in the world. Why would she want to be involved in politics or science when she could help people who needed it? Now, interning as a nurse at Hogwarts, she finds herself enjoying life more than ever. She’s able to forget those responsibilities that haunt her, and truly leave the past behind.

age your characters: it's the start of a new year, so those who were seventh years are now freshly-minted graduates, and those who were sixth years have found themselves suddenly sitting at the apex. (and so on.) 

all-hogwarts duelers cup: in attempt to bribe get students to join the ever-dwindling dueling club, professor nathan chambers has instated a year-long dueling tournament for club members. the winner of each match will earn 5 house points, and the grand prize winner will earn a whopping 50 points for his or her house. he'll also throw in a package of (linty) lollipops as a consolation prize for the runner-up, if everything didn't sound enticing enough.

potions club: professor ivers is starting a potions club this year! all students interested should looking into signing up, or sending him an owl for more information.

once more unto the breaches, dear friends: preparation for war in the muggle war mounts ever further. the first conflict between the US and china happened just weeks ago, and while the UN is setting up peace talks to prevent all-out nuclear war, it doesn't look so good. nations around the globe are throwing their lot in left and right with either side, and journalists are talking about the advent of WWIII -- a nuclear demise. in the wizarding world, the allied ministries are scrambling to aid their muggle counterparts towards peace, but is it already too late? has the first shot been fired, or can they fix the ever-fraying threads?

TINKA PURKISS. seventh year. hufflepuff. unknown. ashley smith.  

 purkiss girls do it best, it’s what mama doris always said because she’d run away with stubby boardman’s boxers after she had thrown a radish at his eye during one of his concerts (note: he shortly retired after that) after he’d cheated on her and then tinka came into the picture. of course, doris purkiss is all bee stung lips and no substance so she never really knew if tinka was stubby’s or not but purkiss girls don’t need no man. tinka purkiss is an insatiable child and she’s passionate, passionate, passionate (it’s why they call her tinkerbell) with an unhealthy groupie complex just like her mother.

we really want to try and get this place more active! so, we're doing another activity check!!!! we understand everyone has been busy and stuff, and we're not worried about anything, it's just we've noticed that there are a lot of blogs that have been a) made and never used, and b) haven't been active for a very very long time (months.) 

SO, you have one week, to reply to this and a) let us know if you are still with us, and/or b) if there are any characters you want to delete/be taken off the canon list. You can reply to this by reblogging or just sending us a message, and if you know anyone who is currently away on holiday / is very busy but would still like to be part of the rp, it would be grand if you could let them know about this message so that their character doesn't get taken off of canon list!

in a house full of pranksters and quidditch players, risk-takers and adventurers, zebediah acklerey has never exactly stood out-- a fact which he's more of aware of than anyone. as a matter of fact, he prides himself on his well-honed ability to fly under the radar. he's the type to take people by surprise, keeping quiet until the comedic moment, or until he can sneak his way into your heart. eccentric but reliable, affectionate but easily frustrated; zeb thought he had his whole future planned out until unforeseen circumstances put that part of his life on hold (you can only live your life in your older brother's shadow for so long). for the time being, he's settled in at flourish and blott's-- selling books might not be what he wants to do for the rest of his life, but to say he doesn't love his job wouldn't be exactly accurate, either.

MATILDA COLLINS. seventh year. slytherin. pureblood. cara delevingne.

There is no doubt about it, Matilda Collins is a trouble maker. She does what she likes, when she likes, dresses how she wants and says what she wants, and she doesn’t give a damn what you might think. She’s pretty laid back, which is probably why she feels fine doing the things she does. Even when things don’t go her way, she’s not one to stay hung up on it for long – unless of course you challenge her, that is.

OLIVE COLLINS. nineteen. professor-to-be. pureblood. kerti pahk. 

Olive Collins has always been a quiet girl. Since she was very young she has always preferred to show her feelings through actions, and express herself through fashion. Though, now she is studying to be a professor at Hogwarts she knows she will have to speak up more.  It’s not that she is scared, of unconfident, quite the opposite actually, she likes the quiet sometimes, coming from a family with a lot of cousins and second cousins. Which is fine, since as her family knows, once you do get her talking, especially about something she is passionate about, then it’s hard to get her to stop. She just hopes that she’ll be able to get on with the students and the professors at her new job, and that her still being quite young wont be a problem.

HAMISH TAYLOR. twenty eight. commando (muggle army.) muggle. chris evans.  

hamish is a sweet guy, wanting to do what is right. loyal to his friends and his family. he caused a bit of trouble when he was young, but he has always known what he wanted to do. ever since he was young, he wanted to join the army. be a solider. fight for what he was told was right. so he did. what he never counted on, was the girl that moved in next door. how they would become friends, then closer friends, and how he would fall for her. he never counted on being shipped out to the middle of the war so soon, how he would  miss her and his family so much, and how close he would come to dying so many times. though those thoughts often weren't in his head, as he focused on trying to stay alive. he's back now, after years away in the heart of the war. ready to start his life again, to try and put the memories of wars behind him.

CARA FLEET. nineteen. department of magical games and sports. half-blood. abbey lee kershaw. 

cara is teeth and claws in a three-piece bureaucratic nightmare. who decided to give her a job at the ministry? they'll wonder as she wanders in with last night's bruises on her neck and arms and a scowl that's put off the best of them. she's a bit of a wild child, easily irascible, quick to settling things with violence, sneers with cuss words between her teeth. this isn't how a girl who was raised in a good, stable family environment is supposed to act, you say, this isn't how a racehorse was bred to become -- a stray cat. but cara is living proof that sometimes, despite best efforts, nature is the one that outstrips nuture. you'll do your best to avoid her.

KIARA PRITCHARD. twenty-three. soldier (muggle army). half-blood. emilia clarke.

Loud, talkative, tomboyish, with a certain disregard for the rules, is exactly how anyone who used to know Kiara Pritchard would describe her. In her younger years, Kiara would enjoy running around recklessly, doing essentially anything she could — going out of her way — just to go against what her parents, or any authority figure, told her. Despite this, she always had a clear view of what she wanted — to join the army, become a fighter, make her deceased father proud, and at least get her mother to look her in the eyes again. Now, 22 years of age, she’s happy. As an adult she’s calm, cheerful and level-headed, but despite her kind demeanour, she still retains her quick-temper from childhood, and occasionally lashes out at others. Now those people who used to describe her as talkative and having a disregard for the rules, would say she is fearless, and her only real fault when it comes to fighting is that she too willingly would sacrifice herself for somebody else. Despite the war she manages to see the good side of life — living her dream job, in a nice apartment, and some days when the war seems that it may just be over, she even manages some time out of her day to go and watch the sunset, just like she used to when she was a child.

clean-up!!

hey kids! sorry to keep being super annoying about this, but please send us a message if you're deciding to delete any characters! (i already got the ones who posted on the dash, thanks. c:) i'm giving the canon list a bit of a clean-up, so it would be much appreciated if you could do that.

also, please consider, if you or some of your characters are inactive, whether you will need those certain characters or not. it's okay if you haven't been here, because i know everyone's pretty busy, especially during the summer, but if you can't handle your current load, i definitely recommend giving up a character or two.

quidditch enthusiasts, rejoice! the british and irish quidditch league is holding their LEAGUE CUP this year on a sprawling green plain right outside of the british district of southend-on-sea. just an hour from london, SOUTHEND-ON-SEA boasts "seven glorious miles of seafront" and "the longest pleasure pier in the world," meaning spectators will not only be able to enjoy their teams going at it for the cup, but the rich sea breeze and the plethora of activities of the towns a short distance away. if you're the adventurous type, there's "adventure island," the local amusement park, or if you'd rather stick to what you know, there's also a small wizarding community tucked away in the small town of leigh-on-sea. whatever your poison may be, there's fun for the whole (magical) family this summer.
