Hearing the reason for Red being up in Dragonspine was honestly surprising; the camp hadn’t mentioned anything about it to her. The fact that the Fatui were meddling in this didn’t surprise her any either. She hadn’t seen any of their presence so far on the mountain.
“They didn’t mention that, no.” Serena replied with a slight shake of her head. “It’s interesting the Fatui are meddling with this,” her opinion on the group wasn’t positive in the slightest, especially after having some run-ins with them, “granted they seem to stick their nose in anything, but… I wonder the significance of this dragon, and what’s making them so adamant on researching it to the point where they’re not backing out even when threatened with death.” Although it seemed dangerous, she couldn’t deny the curiosity that followed.
She’d pause thoughtfully for a moment, grey eyes taking in the landscape briefly. “Do you… want or need any help?” Serena offered. “I’m not personally affiliated with any group, so I can take as much time as I need exploring places and being out.” It wasn’t as if she had any urgent matters going on either. Red did seem very capable himself, but leaving him to deal with something like this alone made her feel somewhat worried even still. On the flipside, however, she didn’t want to impose or intrude on his business any. He’d already had to go out of his way to save her from falling…
“That’s how I feel with Rose as well… we’ve never come across a courtless seelie before until now, and I know it must be really isolating for her…” Yet she was getting along with Gleam very well, returning the nudge that the blue seelie had given her. With how open he was being towards Rose, it was easy for her to get along with him. She seemed to be sticking close to Gleam now, playfully bumping against him every now and then.
Oh. He supposed he wouldn’t need to ask if she would be fine on her own, though he can’t hide a look of surprise that she asked to come along to chase down a deadly dragon. “...I could use an extra hand in looking around up here, it’s hard to be sure I’m seeing all the clues to something huge when I’m here on my own,” he explains. “So... if you’re sure, then I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all.” It’d been a long time since he’d actually had a companion to his travels, it’d be strange but... honestly he was also looking forward to it. When was the last time that thought had come up in his mind?
“Just know that you don’t need to stick around if you get sick of the cold, or don’t want to deal with the dragon. But... I know Gleam and I would be glad to have you and Rose along for the walk through Dragonspine.” He smiles sincerely, and no matter if she only stayed for a short period of time, it’d be nice while it lasted. Something of a warm moment despite the freezing temperatures of the land itself.
“I’d like to know why the Fatui are so interested in this dragon too,” he hums. “If they’re still around they’re somewhere between running and hiding, and attempting to find the same beast as us. No matter what they have in mind though, I doubt it’s at all a good thing. Especially not with the mess they brought to Mondstadt not too long ago.”
While Red explained, Gleam did pipe up when he heard his name... but for the most part he was preoccupied with his fellow seelie, playfully bumping back and floating in circles around Rose. Maybe all that was all well and interesting, but in his mind Rose was muuuch more important than some weird dragon!
