I don’t know whether to call it liberal feminism or just the general ‘body positive’ ‘wear what you want’ movement happening, but it’s had a scary effect on young girls because, it, combined with the hypersexualization of women and the whole instagram beauty culture results in 12-15 year olds looking like they’re in their 20s or close. It’s terrifying because they are supported by other girls who have embraced the tagline for the body positive movement ‘wear what you want’, but also the attitude that the overly sexual look is the way to go. And like you have them making youtube channels because they’re exposed to that at such a young age, dressing in ways to sexualize their bodies because they see that’s the look thats in now. It would be a different story if what they chose to wear didn’t consist of high heels, cleavage emphasizing tops, etc but it does and it’s just really terrifyingly. Men are given a pass to sexualize the girls because they’re seen as doing it themselves, and its just all making me shudder. Girls are pushed into being more mature at 12-13 years old and like, they defend their choices with stuff like “its my life, I can dress how I want” and so many people share that opinion, but fail to take into account why a 14 year old would want a push up bra, or why a 12 year old would want high heels. Why are young girls trying to look like they’re in their 20s? Could it be the beauty culture obsessed climate they are being raised in? Even though nobody says that they wear makeup/heels/whatever to please men, where did all of these things originate from? Where did the need to look good come from? Why is it so valued in our society and who benefits from women constantly perfecting themselves to look like flawless dolls with no imperfections? They go through discomfort and pain, for what? Why would women be naturally inclined to conform to superficial standards of beauty if it caused them so much discomfort? Lipstick feminism or liberal feminism has no answers, neither does choice feminism. Think a little more.
Your opinion is not my reality.

Forgive the past. It is over. Learn from it and let go. People are constantly changing and growing. Do not cling to a limited, disconnected, negative image of a person in the past. See that person now. Your relationship is always alive and changing.
