Matcha Latte (8183 words) by ConnorGavinARMY Chapters: 1/2 Fandom: Detroit: Become Human (Video Game) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Summary: Gavin Reed, proud owner of Reed's Coffee and winner of the World Barista Championship two years ago, hated matcha with all his being. So much so that he had a big poster in his cafe that read: FUCK MATCHA. When Connor, newly returned from Japan after studying the art of authentic matcha and wagashi desserts, got triggered by the poster, he opened a matcha shop right across the street. A tense encounter turned into a challenge, and the challenge turned into prank wars. But when the pranks took a serious turn and someone got injured, they had to put their prejudice aside and work together. or, Coffee Shop AU but make it ConVin and also a casefic. Hehe. Written for Convin September 2025.

Hello there loves! As you might have noticed, things have been rather quiet around here; the reason being the huge workload I found myself dealing with this year, as well my waning engagement in the DBH fandom.

This, unfortunately, means that Convin September will not be making a return this year. I, unfortunately, find it impossible to organise and moderate the event, in my current situation. I apologise for the disappointment this decision may cause. 

Should there be any members of the community who would find themselves willing to carry on with the event or organise one of their own, please do feel free to reach out! I will do anything I can do to help and/or promote your ideas!

Thank you so much for your involvement and contributions last year - thank you so much for the love! It meant a lot and it was lovely to see the community come together to celebrate our favourite two idiot detectives in love~

When I first set up this challenge I had not expected it would garner quite as much attention as it did - and while the month of September might have ended there still will be works of fanfiction, art and photo-manipulation being published in the coming months. I look forward to seeing them all!

As mentioned before, the prompts remain open for you to use all throughout the year, until next September rolls around and the next round of the event begins.

Thank you ever so much for your continuous support, your wonderful creative works and your neverending enthusiasm for this lovely rareship.

I will be seeing you around again very soon 😘

30. bet you’ll love me

Everything is new to Connor. He is still finding pieces of himself in various places, trying to build himself up as he’s learning more about the world around him. A world that isn’t bordered by a code or defined by his mission. It has been an intimidating notion to be considered a human, he’s felt overwhelmed and lost, at times, but as months passed, the initial awkwardness of being new among other real people has washed out, leaving only the wonderfully mundane stuff behind, like doing chores and finding out that he maybe has a crush on one of his coworkers.

The people who used to fear him and project their hatred by proxy are now more or less becoming his friends or at least casual acquaintances. This of course includes detective Reed, the one person who might have probably been scared of him the most. They are more or less ignoring each other nowadays, but sometimes Connor catches the man stealing glances at him, which is not exclusive only to Reed. Because Connor watches too, whenever he has the opportunity to. Maybe he subconsciously tries to impart his inner-most feelings to him, tries to create something between them that isn’t there. It’s very unproductive and he cannot find a rational explanation for this, but he has been told that’s more than normal when one is not a flawless machine. So he accepts it as it is without trying to solve the mystery it carries around with it, just enjoying the fact that he’s able to experience such a natural thing. The pain that comes with it is just a necessary evil.
