affection prompts that i would die for
sorry i haven’t posted in like a hundred years, can’t promise i’ll be back to daily posts but i’ll try my best to remain active for a while ;)
doing their own separate things together (e.g. one is reading while the other is playing an instrument while sitting next to each other on a couch)
the first thing they do when they get home after a long day is finding their loved one and hugging them tightly
the guy giving the girl his hoodie/jacket or letting her take his clothes whenever she wants to
remembering little things about each other, such as their coffee order, current obsessions, favourite animal, etc.
being able to read each other from expression or tone
one of them leans down to pick something up from beneath the table and the other puts their hand on the edge/above their head in order for them not to bump it
he undoes her boots/heels after a long day
not being able to take their eyes off of each other when they’re talking
their loved one is always the first to hear about something new at work/college/friend group, etc.
the gentle check-ups to make sure they got home/work/class safe, how they’re feeling, etc.
taking care of their loved one when they’re are feeling ill
one of them (or both) have a habit of drawing patterns on the other’s skin absentmindedly
they offer the other person to try what they ordered when they’re at a restaurant or cafe
intertwining their fingers with their loved one when walking through a crowd (or just in general)
cuddling while watching a movie without it turning sexual
pecks on the lips/forehead/cheek when they bid each other goodbye for the day or evening
always trying to impress each other with the littlest things like something new they learned, did, saw, etc.
give each other cute nicknames/pet names that aren’t cringe
listening intently while the other tells them about their book/show/something they’re interested in
holds onto the other/staying close to them when they feel jealous or protective
the guy isn’t embarrassed to buy sanitary products for her

How this works:
Think of the character(s) or scene you would like to work on. You can even try asking a question like “What is something that this character is always thinking about but would never admit?”
Pick a number from 1 to 3 that resonates the most with you at the moment.

We’ve provided possible interpretations in the card draw, but feel free to interpret them any way that suits you! We’re providing the source of inspiration, the outcome of that inspiration is up to you.
Set 1
Redemption Arc, Slice of Life (reversed), Biting
There’s a turning point for good in the situation! Your character(s) might have messed up, but they will fix it. They might not like the process but it will help them build character and gain new perspective (which might be important for later?). This bit of character journey will also serve to further the larger plot—it’s not something they do often, or perhaps even have ever before, but the fact that they are doing it could be an important building point/linking chain to other happenings further down the story.
Set 2
Arranged Marriage (reversed), Dead Dove: Do Not Eat (reversed), Hyperfocus Trap
Your character(s) will encounter an unexpected fallout or unplanned parting (in terms of partnership, be it romantic, business or something else). This catches them by surprise, and they’ve seen zero warning signs leading up to this; no one warned them, or perhaps the other party kept it under wraps too well. This turn of events will send the character(s) down a rabbit hole to find out everything that lead up to this moment.
Set 3
Idiots In Love, Precious Cinnamon Rolls (reversed), Unreliable Narrator
Your character(s) is (are) being oblivious to something blatantly clear but no worries! They are not alone in this obliviousness. While it is uncertain if they and their buddy could figure it out together, there’s one thing for sure: they will make questionable and likely extreme choices on their journey of discovery. The character(s) will be dealing with bias-ness, half-truths and blind spots in the overall big picture, so this will also be a test of their judgement and their trust in the people around them.

The Fannish Safety Signs deck is a custom printed 54-card deck based off the collection of stickers by the same name launched on Kickstarter last year (Summer, 2025). Information about the statistics of reversed cards
Half the deck (27 cards) are randomly selected and manually inverted before they are reshuffled into the deck. Should any cards fall out while shuffling the deck, all the cards will be checked to make sure that the rightside and reversed ratio remain 50-50. A total of 9 cards (3 sets of 3) are then drawn in succession.
