"abhay getting these seizure-like flashbacks, but why is it just him? why not shubman, too? 😭" honestly i haven't really thought from shubman POV so idk im so sorry though 😭😭😭😭 "and does shubman have feelings for him, too? 🥺" HE DOES HE DOES!!! the purpose of their life (this time) is to love each other dearingly. my babies do love each other. +also pls dont imagine past abhishek as shanti's husband (i forgot his name 😭) abhishek yk has faced homophobic remarks in school as a kid (something he didnt tell shubman) and that scared him also his parents threatening to disown him is not easy to take. he is just scared of what the world holds for him but he loves LOVES shubman a lot which is why he eloped with him. infact my abhay and shub are not at all like how shanti and her man were like they are simply abhishek and shubman the plot is om shanti om inspired but the characters aren't. +after their court marriage in town abhishek and shubman rented a 2BHK apartment and lived together and pretend to be two bachelors who are work friends. -does this make sense 🥺

aw, no worries if you haven't thought of shubman's pov. you honestly don't even have to explain why shubman doesn't have the flashbacks if you don't want to, but if you do--may i offer an idea? so in the reincarnation fic i wrote once, i also made it so that only one person remembers the past, and that was because the other person in their past life, had sacrificed their own life to save them. anyway anyway, you mentioned in the previous ask that shubman spoke the words "maybe next time we will actually be happy" while abhi was unconscious. so maybe that sort of set things in motion for their reincarnation, but also made it that abhi is the one to receive the memories

hiiii its me again! so pondered a bit about the reincarnation au and have some things in mind. "when were they lovers?" actually whatever idea i had in mind earlier i wrote it full in you 'asks' but now u only inspired me to make this 'om shanti om' theme. so yeah they were lovers and they reincarnated as soon as they died. "taking inspiration from om shanthi om, is there some unfinished business in their past?" yeah so like its already established that they were married in their past life so the story can kind of flow like shubman and abhishek having the 'love at first glance' cliche bollywood like trope back in the 90's and they are scared of the homophobic society (even more since it's the 90's) so they decide to keep their love a secret but shubman is tired of loving his abhay in a secret so he insists abhishek that they should tell their friends at least for a start but abhishek refuses because he has endured cruel remarks from his 'friends' back in school (when shubman was not with him, they are not childhood friends in the past life yk) so shubman agrees to live in secret for abhishek. time skip they are both 23 and 24 now and fully employed and they decide to get married (i mean earlier people used to get married early so). with much courage they tell their parents and things dont turn out well and abhishek's parents even threaten to disown him (abhay's parents being more conservative than shubman's) and shubman's parents too reject this relationship. amidst of this chaos the love birds found themselves burdened by people's opinion and decide to escape their hometown one midnight. they get married too in the new town they live in. their families too ceased making efforts to find them to avoid dishonour, they are happy though with each other. however problems never cease for our favourite couple because despite being married abhishek intends on loving secretly because he fears being judged by society but shubman refuses to be understanding now as they are married and wishes to actually live like a couple. this causes many fights between them. BUT NO ABHISHEK DOESNT BURN SHUBMAN IN SOME HOUSE my baby loves his shubi he is just very insecure and a bit of a coward ok? they genuinely die because of an 'accident'. one day our abhiman were driving home from work together with driver shubman and passenger princess abhay who's yapping his husband's ears off as to why shubman grabbing abhishek by his nape and leaving leaving all flustered is not professional at all (shubman who's just smiling listening to his love). this little yap from abhishek soon turns into a full grown argument on the very same topic and shubman is distracted and doesn't see a truck coming (msd the untold story reference, i have nothing original sorry) and yk what happens but as they are covered in blood breathing their last breaths shubman carefully grasps abhishek's shaking palm in his hand and lifts it up to lay a final weak peck and says "i love you abhay maybe next time we will actually be happy" to an already unconscious abhishek because 'if the world was ending i wanna next to you and if the party was over and our time on earth was through i wanna hold you just for a while and die with a smile'
i am like, so onboard with this, you have no idea. is this au something you're interested in writing, or are you open to someone else taking it up? (not sure if you're sending asks to me in hopes me/someone will write it, but i do hope you'll want to do it yourself <3)

the past life story is making my heart break :(( i can't help but understand both of their viewpoints, but shubman, you must realize things wouldn't be safe for both of you, right? imagine outing yourselves and coming home to find your husband dead or severely injured because you wanted people to know. like i know how difficult being a secret is, but at the cost of your lives?

i wonder if present-day abhishek has the same fears as his past self, even if society has become marginally more accepting thirty years later? and if present-day shubman would want them to be open about their relationship the same way?
are there any other parallels between present and past? are there other characters that resemble people abhi knew in his previous life? events that remind him of the past? does he seek out the town he used to live in and walk through it, in awe at how it's changed? that would be so interesting to write (personally. i love that type of prose).

HI IDK IF I SHOULD SAY IT BUTTTT I GOT AN ABHIMAN REINCARNATION AU IDEAA!!!! it goes like or something like abhishek and shubman were lovers and married to each other, they lose their life in a fatal accident now they are rebirthed and playing for team india and are best of best of friends. this year as abhishek turned 25 years of age he has started getting flashbacks that are voilent in their process of occurence that leaves abhishek gasping for breath and trembling in shubman's hold (he constantly supports him through it) however he doesnt share anything he sees with shubman as he himself cant pinpoint a certain meaning out of it. but yk with course of time (4 months, yeah im impatient like that) abhishek knows everything about his past life and he can't help but see shubman differently (in a good like he's in love with him) and shubman is growing frustrated with abhishek's peculiar behaviour because he's not ready to consult a doctor despite getting those 'strokes' once a week. IDK HOW THE STORY SHOULD PROCESS IT JUST POPPED IN MY HEAD ANDD NOWOWW IM EMPTYYY i cant think of anything further. but yeah lemme know what u think

first of all. your idea is fucking awesome! i have Questions because i just neeeed to know more (you absolutely don't have to answer if they're spoilers):
when were they lovers? was it like in om shanthi om where they get reincarnated right after they die? or is it like an au where they were lovers way in the past, like medieval times or something?

i don't know if you're asking for advice or ideas, and I'm usually in favour of letting people choose their story, but maybe i can give you some things to think about:
what's the genre you're intending? if it's a romance, then that would be the focus and you could include how abhay processes the memories and how he finally tells shubman, if he does
again, taking inspiration from om shanthi om, is there some unfinished business in their past? did they die in mysterious circumstances, or is there someone who needs to get their comeuppance? if that's the case, maybe abhay and shub can team up to solve it and grow closer during it
how in depth are you going to elaborate on the flashbacks? are you keeping them as the bits and pieces that abhay sees, or will you lay out the entire puzzle in order once abhi has seen everything?
are you including shubman's pov in this? what does he think is happening? what does he do about it? exploring his emotions and helplessness because his friend refusing the doctors might be fun
how does abhi realize this is a past life and that he's not going crazy? does he feel it instinctively, or does he do his research? does he meet anyone else with similar experiences that can guide him?
okay, maybe that's enough 😆 I'm talking too much. but I'll leave you with two more things:

It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.
Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.
Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
