For years, making custom hair for The Sims 4 has been the final boss of CC creation. Meshing in Blender, fighting bone weights, wrestling with UVs, watching tutorials that may don't help at all… most people give up before they even start. (i'll have a full video out soon to show all the features. This is in BETA meaning it'll only get better with your feedback.)
So I built something that's never existed before.
✏️ Introducing the Hair Creation Tool in Cherry Create
A real hairstyle drawn with your mouse, on a 3D head, inside the app. You draw your hair instead of modeling it from scratch. You literally drag to draw a strand and it appears, textured and flowing, right where you want it. Then you keep going until you've got a whole head of hair you designed yourself. 💇♀️✨
What you can make, today:
🪮 Strands in 5 styles — straight, wavy, coil, and yes… real 3D braids and full ponytails
🎀 Buns — coiled, braided or round, any size, dropped wherever you click
🌬️ Flyaways — those little baby hairs and flyaways that make hair look real and add detail, painted right on top
🪞 Symmetry so both sides match perfectly while you draw
🧲 Magnetic strands, curve editing, move & rotate — tweak every hair until it's perfect
🪨 Then SCULPT it like clay — grab, smooth and shape your whole hairstyle in 3D
📦 Getting it in-game (the honest part)
Cherry Create nails the shape and texturing.. the hard, creative part. To make it a fully working in-game hair, there are still two finishing steps, and I'll always be straight with you about them:
Export .obj from Cherry Create (one button).
Bone weights in Blender — so the hair moves with the Sim. You transfer the weights from a base hair. (Auto-weighting inside Cherry Create is in active development — the goal is to delete this step entirely. 👀)
Package in Sims 4 Studio — import, add your textures, save the final .package.
So the part that used to make people quit — designing the hair — is now the easy part. You finish up in Blender + S4S for now, and that gets simpler with every update.
