Talking of the Latin show at the WAH Center, we are inviting all of the Latin artists who live and work in the tri-state area including artists from the Latin American countries besides those in new York City.
NYC has a big Puerto Rican and Dominican Republic communities and today we have many young Puerto Rican and the Dominican Republic artists who are pursuing actively their careers in the artworld, making the New York Art scenes very inspiring and unique.
Brooklyn, NY, especially in Williamsburg where the WAH Center is located used to have a dense population of Puerto Rican and Dominican Republicans. But they didn’t seem to have formed any special artists’ groups, I was not familiar with any single Latino artist. As my interest in finding out about the Latin artists has grown deeper in the past few years, I’ve started feeling necessary to find out the hidden fact about them, Where are their minds and hearts are at. So, this is the perfect time to have the Latin show in April to showcase their talents to our audiences. How can we see the distinctive differences among each Lain country’s artworks, Can we trace their cultural and heritage roots in their works, and how different their art is from non-artists’works. We can find out the answers by seeing their art with our own eyes. We are very excited to welcome all the Latin artists contributing to make the artwork very rich and colorful!

When the WAH Center presents the shows, we often exhibit some 2-D works on the walls and some 3-D works on the pedestals. Although the two different mediums share the same gallery space, they have to work harmoniously together, which makes the show very rich and interesting. And most of our shows have succeeded well in presenting the 2-D and 3-D works together in the same gallery.
The summer is very slow, but gradually we’ve stated receiving quite a few submission materials. But, we can still include more wonderful works in the show!
Our gallery is very spacious and airy having high ceilings (16’ high) with full of light (big 7 windows in the gallery space). We are able to show more than 50 artists’ works in the show.
