For such an obnoxiously named place, you would never suspect it to house so many secrets. On the surface it looks like any town you might pass by in Louisiana, no story worth mentioning aside from the ones the locals hold dear. As you fill up the tank of your car, your eyes happen to wander to the headline of the newspaper someone had hastily stuffed into the trashcan. It reads:

Name: Finnley Cartier AKA Crow

He’s one of those people that is always searching for something substantial, always searching to be a part of something more. He was on a journey that seemed to him rather spiritual, but in reality he could not see that he was looking in all the wrong places. His head was up in the clouds but his body was very much tethered to the earth by the chains of drugs and alcohol. A pilgrim, he called himself. One on a journey for the Something More, whether it was to be found in God, in the white dust, or in another person -- the insatiable need was never to be slated. However, it could be tempered. When he started to realize that the paths he took were only leading him in circles, he searched for other ways to distract himself, hoping to stumble on the Something More by means of luck. So he tried to become a “Jack of All Trades and a Master of None”. It led him from this place to that, from big city to decimated ghost towns. He took jobs where he could, excelled at them, but felt only fleeting moments of fulfillment. There was one job, though, that made him feel like he was doing something worth while. Although he claimed that he wasn’t great at it, Finn had a knack for hacking. Shift a little money here, move a couple dollars there. It was a Robin Hood deal where he hacked into the online accounts of the rich and put the money -- untraceable money -- into the bank accounts of the poor. The mob he was working for at the time found out his little scheme and tried to cap him. However Finnley, the Jack of All Trades, had picked up useful tactics for going under the radar and made himself a cozy little nest in Coolsville. His skin itches with the need to feel that sense of righteous, of destiny, once more. But this time he has to be more careful about which pocket he picks because Coolsville is a whole different ballgame.

Kateri McLean: 

The Roommate

They came into town around the same time and fate pretty much lumped them together. Neither of them talk much. It’s superficial conversation that fills the apartment, white lies with small smiles and light laughter.  The normalcy of their relationship is something that provides him with comfort because he knows that he doesn’t have to be looking over his shoulder 24/7. Valencia seems to feel the same and that is all he can ask. Although, there is an underlying tension between the two since the secrets seem to keep on piling up. He doesn’t ask where she gets those bruises. She doesn’t ask why he is so quick to shut down his laptop every time she steps into the room. Neither of them know what the other’s job is. Their apartment together is a world of its own that they can both escape from and he appreciates that.

Bradley Lim:

The Nosy Photographer

He sees her lurking around the corners and always waiting to strike. It makes him uncomfortable, to say the least because the last thing he needs is his photo on the Chronicle’s website or in the newspaper. Dominic doesn’t seem to favor her either and so he usually sends Finn to scare her off. The fact that she seems to know there is something going on with Dom’s shop assures Finn that she knows what she’s poking her nose into. He just wishes that there was a more convenient way of chasing her off than yelling at her and calling the local authorities each time. One of these days he’s going to get it all handed back to him -- karma has a way of doing that -- and she’s going to take satisfaction in snapping a photo of him. But for now he deals with her the only way he knows how: mouthing off and using the justice system to his advantage.

Silas Hawkins:

The Brother From Another Mother

Silas and Finn met at Dom’s fight club. They got into a drunken fight and have been friends ever since. Finn usually goes over to Silas’ place to drink ( he would never bring him to his and Valencia’s apartment ) and play video games. Sometimes they train together for fight nights and other times they go to strip clubs. Theirs is an easy and effortless relationship, but it has yet to be tested. If it ever is, Finn hopes that it will remain steadfast. It isn’t often that he is actually able to form relationships -- so when he makes one he holds onto it for all its worth.

Many people believe that we bear the sins and curses of our ancestors. When Eve bit the apple, she cursed all woman. When Cain killed Abel he cursed all of his descendants. When Reagan’s father was unmasked by the group of holier-than-thou kids, she was forced to carry that mark of disgrace forever. No kids would ever talk to her, their parents warning them to stay away from her and her ilk. Every night she came home, she would find her mother nearly down with a bottle of scotch and making her way to one more. What was a girl like her supposed to do except come to the conclusion that this was her bearing the mistakes of her father -- a man she had revered and looked up to. Reagan still does, to this day. So, while Child Services took her by the hand and pulled her away from her unconscious mother, she decided that she would bear the sins of her father -- but only temporarily. She would bear the weight as it chafed her delicate shoulders, but others would feel it as well. It was this thought and this thought alone that allowed her to sleep at night, only to wake up the next morning to move to a new foster home. The motivation is what kept her at her studies, helped her graduate college early, and return to Coolsville. It was as if fate was on her side because right when she arrived she noticed all hell break loose. Lo and behold, Mystery Inc. suddenly needed more people to help them -- and who better to respond to their call than a girl offering one hand in aide while the other held a knife.

Dominic Sinclair:

The Ghost of Traumas Past

It wasn’t really her choice to leave Coolsville, but once she did she never looked back. She didn’t look after she realized Dominic had not tried contacting her, she didn’t look back even when she felt like the loneliest girl in the world and her whole entire being seemed to ache for something familiar. But now that she has returned she’s tried her best to avoid anything to do with old memories that would distract her from her task at hand. Besides, if Dominic saw her and started talking to her again then he would suspect something is up. What else could bring her back to the worst town in the world except something vengeful. Since she doesn’t know where his loyalties lie, she can’t risk him putting a hitch in all her plans -- old memories and histories, or no old memories and histories. 

Hayden Lynch:

The Agonized Appetizer

She isn’t quite sure why she finds him so intriguing. Maybe it’s the whole “celibacy” thing, but Reagan has her on this priest and is most definitely aiming for his destruction. Also, while she’s in Church she isn’t really in there to pray anyway and ask for God’s guidance. She knows where he would want him to go and has decidedly chosen to ignore that advice. Beneath all the bravado, though, there is this innate need for her to wreck any sort of father figure that there might be. Her father was taken from her before she was ready and so she has decided to do the same to anyone else in any way that she can. So whenever she lifts her wide eyes to his, she sees nothing but a man of God who is waiting for his soul to be devoured by the Devil. 

Emmeline Sun:

The Scary Stepmother (But Not Really)

There are the well-known stepmothers that permeate fairytales, the narrative makes you wrinkle your nose at them and wish them the worst doom. Reagan sees that with Emmeline, the woman who seems to never get kicked off of her High Horse. There is something in her that reminds her of her mother and she hates that with every fiber of her being. Is it so wrong to hate a woman who can so determinedly set her mind to a ask until it turns into her ruin? Whether that task be finding the bottom of a bottle or building your throne? Despite the disdain that she feels for the woman, she knows that she must be frightened of her. It is not a decision on her part, but one that Emmeline decided for the both of them, simply by the smile that flitted across her lips at their first encounter. The woman -- if that’s what she even was -- was not one to be trifled with.

He sometimes thinks that the only reason why he became a priest is because it was the only way to make sure that he didn’t go to hell. Fr. Lynch hoped that he would at least have to go through purgatory, which was fine with him. But then there were times where he doubted there was a purgatory and assumed that he was already living in hell. After all, this could only be hell if even men of God were plagued by demons. These demons came in various forms: money, drugs, sex, etc. etc. But they were there all the same, taunting him day in and day out. His parents had wanted better for him and his brother. They had wanted him to find something better than these handful of miles that seemed more prison than home. It was his brother, though, who had reminded him that he was more than the demons that chained him to the town. When he was growing up he knew he had gotten mixed into the wrong crowd, because that’s what big brothers do when little brothers do stupid things first, but then he tried to make his peace with God by devoting his life to him. Then came the day that the stable foundation of his life was corrupted -- the God that he had tried to make peace with reminded him that He was ever wrathful. Hayden returned to Coolsville to watch over his parents’ estate and to make sure that he was there for his brother. The former was much, much easier than the latter. Despite all the precautions he had taken, he could feel himself slipping.  Even though he thought he had cleansed himself of the demons that plagued him years ago. Even though he had sworn off of a certain lifestyle to repent for his sins. Even though he had confessed his sins again, and again, and again. Somehow or another he found his hands covered in blood -- and it was blood that was anything but sanctified.

Jasper Lynch:

The Cain To His Abel

Being the older brother had not simply been a title to Hayden. It had never been a  responsibility that he could shirk off. For as long as he could remember, being an older brother had defined his whole entire life. Between the two of them, Hayden had always been the more reasonable one, the more cautious and level headed -- which was saying a lot. The helpless devotion that he had for his brother may be pinpointed to the fact that his mother, on her deathbed, had begged him to watch out for Jasper. This promise that he made to his mother has proven to be his hubris, his undoing. When he returned to Coolsville he hadn’t expected his brother to spiral in such a dramatic manner. Honestly -- murdering innocent people was something that he definitely did not expect from his brother. Helping cover up the murder by making a deal with a drug lord to hide the bodies? That wasn’t something he had expected from himself. 

Isaac Duchannes:

The Beelzebub of Coolsville

Though he was a man of God, he hadn’t quite believed in the Devil -- until he met the Devil in human form. That form took the name of Isaac Duchannes, who had come to him offering a false light of guidance. Wasn’t that the form that the Devil liked to take though? A caricature of goodness and hope? But then Isaac had started calling in their favors, one by one piling up one bloody receipt after the other until Hayden was forced to scramble for payments so that his brother’s dirty deeds might remain a secret. What other choice did he have but to dip into the church’s generous pocket in order to pay his dues? The problem is that even the church can be giving for such a limited amount of time...

Reagan Young:

The Little Orphan Annie

One of the reasons why he had devoted himself to God was because he knew that women were nothing but trouble. However, there was a serious moral conflict that raged in his soul when he encountered Reagan on his doorstep with nothing but a shirt and flimsy shorts covering her form. The only natural course of action was to allow her shelter in the humble abode of the rectory and get her set up. While their relationship is tentative at best, he still is plagued by numerous questions: where did she come from, what is she doing, does she plan to kill him in his sleep. Simple ones like that. Ever since he has returned to serve Coolsville the town has been giving him nothing but surprises. They typically tended to be nasty ones, so is it so wrong for him to be apprehensive when considering this one?

He had always seen the world for what it was, not for how he wanted it to be. That was why he believed that the only way the world could be conquered was with a gun on his hip and a knife in his hand. Like most people in Coolsville he had always had superstitions and suspicions about the others that lived in the town. But they never fully formed until he got the call that his brother had been murdered. The officers were never able to figure out how he had lost so much blood. They never understood how he had ended up in the swamp. These were the only pieces of information that had been placed on his lap and, like his father had taught him, he put the pieces together to see the whole picture. Nothing would keep him from exacting vengeance, from making the creature that caused his family so much grief have their heart torn out the same way. But he had gotten carried away, had forgotten, in the heat of the moment, that these creatures were as fickle as they were savage. Silas was wrongfully convicted for a crime that he did commit. They labeled him as c r a z y, psychotic. They labeled what they didn’t understand. Each day he spent in that madhouse was another day that allowed him to plot the death of one creature after the other, it was another day for him to strategize how to relieve his special town of this particular supernatural infestation. No one else was up to the task, so why not the man who already had blood on his hands?

The Shadow-Wary Girl

He knows that she can see the world for what it is, too. Not in the way that he does, no, she views the world with rose-tinted glasses. But she definitely sees...something. When she had happened upon her during one of his “hunts”, he had been given no choice but to tell her a rather bold-faced lie. Ever since then he can feel her eyes raising the hairs on the back of his neck and he doesn’t like it one bit. In actuality, he doesn’t like her or any of the newcomers one bit. They dub themselves as locals but they’re outsiders -- people who are going to attract nothing but more problems. It makes him more frustrated than anything, so he does his best to avoid them as much as they try to avoid him. But sooner or later they’re going to realize how small the town actually is, and that day will be a guaranteed shit show.

Hayden Lynch:

The One With The Clean Halo And Bloody Hands

How he got into this whole entire business with the Church, Silas isn’t completely sure. He needed a place to stay and the preacher-man happened to be one of the only open residences in town. Ever since then he had been pushing, pushing, pushing for Silas to redeem himself. But the former convict can see right through it. Hayden probably had as much of a rough past as Silas did. However, there is no judgement there, just amusement at the fact that a man like Hayden was now claiming to do the work of the good Lord. There are some days when he tries to press the preacher into telling him where the cash for the Church comes from, why he spends his nights out so often. Silas, is a patient man and will bide his time. He just hopes the good preacher knows who to turn to when shit hits the fan.

She has always looked at life through a lens, looking at it through the lens has given her a sense of perpetual perspective. It has given her an enlightened sense of being and has opened her heart. Perhaps it was because the first camera that was given to her was given to her by her mother and her mother always seemed to have an air about her that made her seemed as if she knew. That, combined with her golden heart and saint-like ways, is what really shaped Bradley. It shaped her warm eyes and her gentle hands, it shaped the curves of her heart and the softness of her words. Most kids growing up had people wearing tights and capes as their idols. But her? She had her mother as her hero, as her role model. But that image of strength was fractured when her mother died after sacrificing a bit too much. “The good die young” was a phrase that was murmured over and over again among the black clad attendees of the funeral. Bradley, even with all her goodness, was not the type of person that wanted that label. Death had taken the only person who mattered to her -- how could she welcome it with open arms? The more years that passed the more she realized how little she knew of her mother. That was what triggered the need to k n o w, it was insatiable and she was a slave to her inclinations. When she moved to Coolsville she thought that the small town would satisfy her need to know, it probably held no secrets and no intrigue for someone like her. The worst thing she would know was who was cheating on who. Coolsville, however, seemed to be quite the opposite and was like giving a bottle of the finest whiskey to an alcohol. The only thing she knew: this would end very badly indeed.

Finnley Cartier:

The Unhappy Person of Interest

She sees him lurking -- there is honestly no other way to describe it -- and it’s as if he’s begging her to dig deeper into him. Bradley is a bit oblivious to the fact that she makes him so uncomfortable because she’s driven by one goal and one goal only: to figure out what’s going on in that damned automotive shop.  What’s really frustrating is the fact that she doesn’t really dislike any of the people who work there, although she gets annoyed with the way they seem so entitled to everything. Actually, the thing more frustrating than that? The way none of them seem to remember that the press has rights and the way she’s become incredibly familiar with the authorities who always have to escort her away from the shop. One of these days he’s going to get it all handed back to him – karma has a way of doing that – and she’s going to take satisfaction in snapping a photo of him. But for now he deals with her the only way he seems to know how: sounding stupid and abusing the justice system.

Sobek:

The Man With No Shadow

She has never seen him walk in the light of day. There is something strange about the way that she has only seen him skulk about at night and she needs to know why. Maybe it’s because he’s a ghost and she’s been able to find nothing on him. The locals mainly known of him as a shady character who will probably end up being more trouble than he’s worth. Others know him as a quiet man who probably means to do no harm. But Bradley has never encountered an enigma, someone as elusive as he is. All she knows is his name and when she searched it on Google? Nothing. When she looked at police records? Nothing. He is a ghost, a man with no shadow, and she wants to know how and why.

Tatiana Galloway:

The One She’ll Follow Til The End of The Line

Ah yes, her better half. When she had first come to Coolsville, she had been a bit much for the small town. A bit too eager to help, eventually getting in the way of things and putting a little kink in everyone’s daily routine. But Tatiana, her housemate, coworker, and platonic wife ( more or less ) gave her the lay of the land and equipped her with the tools that she needed in order to take the jaw on. The reason she was probably half as successful as she was was because of the woman. Bradley would do anything and everything she could to repay Tatiana and show her that she’s worthy of the friendship. It was a flaw that seemed to be genetic, if her mother’s death proved anything. In a town like Coolsville, blind devotion seems to be something that is regularly manipulated and taken advantage of...

They did not grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth or with their future set out before them. In fact, many thought they would not have a future at all. Isaac was just another kid on the roster, one who would end up in juvie – just one numbered among many. It was a matter of time before the foster system fell through, like it had many times before, and failed to find a home for a troubled kid like them. Against all odds, they were plucked from the many deprived children and given a home. Their parents were millionaires who wanted to share the love in their home and they made sure Isaac wanted for nothing. However, they were human and they always wanted more. Once they were given a taste of the privileged life it became an insatiable need to be reassured that they would never want for anything ever again. They wanted to make sure that they would never have to experience the struggles of the foster home – of hungering, of shivering, of scrapping for necessities – ever again. When they were finally reassured, they discovered that they had a k n a c k for taking care of themselves. Specifically, for making money. It started small, their dealings. Their name was whispered and exchanged among friends, reassured that Isaac was someone to be trusted, someone who would get the job done as well as pull through. Once a person has a reputation like that, well, it comes in handy. They were able to start their company under a reputable guise – the name of Duchannes had never acquired a single stain on their record – without their parent’s money and of their own volition. Isaac had risen up from scrapping and scrambling for the necessities to pouring champagne bottles into their bathtub. However, the need for more was still very much ingrained in their person. Where did that need direct them to? None other than the infamous town of Coolsville, and from what they can tell this town is ripe for the taking.

Hayden Lynch:

The Brother’s Keeper

Their history with Hayden has been nothing short of bloody. Isaac had always known Hayden to be a charismatic man and had wanted him for the job -- they knew exactly what they wanted from him, but it was going to take time so they watched and they waited. But the Lynch boys were stubborn men and they knew that Hayden wouldn’t give into the deal without requiring a little push. That’s why they strong-armed his brother, knowing that the little secret that they kept for the Lynchs’ sake would give them the exact reaction they wanted – the moment they did, Hayden gave way like a dandelion to the wind. They are very aware of the game that they are playing. It’s a dangerous one, providing the motivation for their own doom and demise. But they are careful about how they handle the Lynch brothers now. They bested them once and they are more than capable of doing it again.

Chandrakant Sharma:

The Blind Seer

Isaac scoffs at the thought of magick, they see it and they laugh, but Chandler knows better. What Chandler doesn’t know is that they know – they are just good at hiding it. Isaac is aware of the way the air is saturated with magic, of how it is steeped in the dirt and poisoning the water. They are carefully constructing their plan to profit from the magick in the air, the magick that is woven into the ground. They are playing stupid because they know how eager Chandler is to make them as much of a believer as he is. If he is so desperate to make them understand, then he will be desperate enough to help them in their endeavors. See, despite it all, they know that Chandler is a ‘seeing is believing type’. They, however, are a ‘believing is seeing’ type of person – if they believer that Chandler is foolish enough to fall for their plan, then they will see it.

Henrietta Sasori:

The Broken Halo

They were desperate to have her, to make her theirs. The moment they had laid their eyes on her, they knew that they could utilize her – they could help her realize her full potential. What they didn’t know was that they had broken her halo along the way. They realized the moment they did that she had tied herself to them and they could never repay her for her loyalty. Now the Duchannes name is tied to the Sasori name. Their codependency is what some might deem as a weakness, but with the way Henry handles things they can only conceive of it as a strength. Perhaps they feel some guilt for what they have put her through because now the blood that stains their hands is now on hers as well. But in a town like Coolsville, it seems like a person can only go on for so long until the blood of sin drips from their fingers.

People often say that it is not the situation that determines the character, but how the character reacts to the determined situation. Well, if that is true then the character of Constantine Deveraux does not glimmer and glisten as much as he would like to think. He grew up a relatively good man, good old Evangelical father with an equally, if not more so, Evangelical mother. He came to the States to further his education, eager, as any young man is, to taste the sweet nectar of independence and freedom. However, the sweet taste quickly grew bitter on his tongue, turning it into something much more bitter and much more...metallic ( almost like blood, perhaps? ). He remembered the exact moment where it happened, when the man of relatively good man delved into sin and despair, turning into something much less good and much less man. The moment, like all moments, was preceded by a series of events that seemed carefully constructed for his ruin. It began with the trip to the white-topped mountains and was then followed by the avalanche that should have killed them all -- but didn’t. One by one, he watched his friends die until it was between himself and the only other man standing, although standing may not be the word to use for two men whose ribs stuck out and whose legs buckled with each movement. Promises were made and promises were broken. Before he knew it, blood was covering his hands, so warm and thick as it flowed through his fingers and down his throat. Before he knew it, his friend’s flesh was between his teeth. Before he knew it, he was cursed, damned, and doomed. Before he knew it, he was taking Satan’s hand and following him into the depths of Hell.

Emmeline Sun:

The Devil on His Shoulder

He did not find Emmeline, no, she found him. It was after he had noticed the change in himself, and in his cravings, that he began to wonder if he needed some help. But Emmeline showed up at his door, eyes alight with wicked intelligence and a smirk on her lips as if she knew things he could only wish to have inklings of. This first impression turned out to be right -- she explained to him that he was not the only one of his kind. In fact his kind were not the only kind. Emmeline opened his eyes to a whole other world that had been lurking beneath another, one far more sinister than mere humans could ever hope to be. Instead of coaching him on how to stay away from this sinister world and on how to slate the ever-burning thirst in the back of his throat, she taught him how to indulge in it. Oh, if his father and mother could only see the Devil that has taken ahold of his soul. 

Kateri McLean:

The Dog With A Bone (That Just Won’t Let Go)

Neither of them is entirely sure how it happened -- he credited it to God’s personal vendetta against him while she credited it to his inane sense of self-destruction. Emmeline had told him to mess with the novice hunters in order for so that he could get his hands “wet”. His hands were dripping with blood that night, but he became drunk with his victory and had grown careless. One hunter had escaped, that being none other than Kateri. Before the night was over she found her own hands wet with blood -- his. He had escaped to lick his wounds and quietly hoped that he would never have to see her again. But, again, God has a personal vendetta against him. Constantine has seen her walking throughout town and feels his own mortality and sins weighing down on his shoulders each time he does. Should she confront him ( although he knows that confront may be too kind a word ) he knows that there will be blood. It’s a coin-toss as to whether it will be his or hers.

The One With His Fingers In All The Pies

It’s all under the table -- but that’s fine by Constantine. He’s a businessman, after all, and the first rule of business is that all business is good business. Even if it is with a person that seems more monster than man. Each time the Constantine interacts with them, he always leaves with a chill running down his spine. Mind you, this is coming from a man who has eaten heroes and villains alike. When a monster that eats monsters is scared of someone, you take note. But he’s willing to swallow his fear if it means he’s able to have a full belly while staying under the radar of the citizens. How Isaac is so well connected is anyone’s guess. Although, Constantine may have an inkling of an idea --let’s just say he thinks that the Devil is a very well-connected person, what with tallying all the sins of every citizen in Coolsville.

Do not doubt the fact that she had loved him. Her first him, of course. Theirs had always been an affair to remember, one that her parents had always been outspokenly against. They spat on his name merely because he had no money, merely because he could be of no use to them. When you live in the dirt, you want nothing but the best for your daughter -- and while Mercedes knew that their hearts were in the right places, her own was already caged in his calloused hands. However, when he died his hands never released her heart from the cold prison. Instead, her most prized possession was buried six feet under in a coffin that would be chewed away by worms and time. Never one to remain idle, she sought different ways of filling the void where her heart had once been. The one cure that lasted awhile happened to be none other than money obtained by rather unorthodox means. Some calling it gold digging but she calls it a means to an end. The idea had first come into her head when she was set up on a blind date with a man that seemed more suited to the Neanderthal era than the 21st century. So she did the world ( particularly the women of the world ) a favor by relieving them all of his existence. It was a rather long and tenuous process that required a high pain tolerance on her end, but it was worth it all when she saw the numbers that ended up in her bank account. It eventually became something of a hobby and something that she was all too good at. But with all this cash in her back pocket, people would sooner or later grow suspicious. No matter how stupid or slow they all seemed. Her desire to remain under the radar while coming into such a large sum of money is what brought her to Coolsville. What more adequate place to hide -- among thieves and killers -- when she was more or less the q u e e n of them all?

The Boytoy

She’s the woman with the money that started him off. Of course it didn’t come completely free or as a favor, but it wasn’t the worst way to make some cash. He felt uncomfortable getting money from someone who he was sleeping with so he made it clear that they were either business partners or nothing at all. It turned out that she preferred the former option as well. She sees him as less as a partner and more as a means to an end, just like every other man in her life had been after he passed away. While she is aware that he knows this -- and detests the fact that she barely respects him -- she is in no hurry to change their arrangement of “business partners”. Through him she is able to keep her wits about her; Dominic is an invaluable way of knowing the inner workings of Coolsville. All the money that is accumulating in her pocket has to go somewhere, doesn’t it?

Daphne Blake:

The One That’s All Beauty and No Brains

No one else saw the woman as anything aside from supportive, giving benefactor. Except for Daphne. From the moment they met, Mercedes knew that Daphne was going to be harder to charm than most. Usually, she would resort to bribing but the stupid girl was probably too self righteous to even consider it. It was probably because they were so similar. They both wore the mask of someone who had a lot of anger but managed to hide it under a cool. For some reason none of the rest of the gang had any suspicions about her, the young widower who had tragically been left with a boat load of money after her husband had died. Whenever she was forced to be in the same room with the child, she was charming and courteous, as always. Mercedes knows that she has them under her thumb for now...but the problem with money is that you couldn’t always buy enough time.

Tatiana Galloway

The Woman Who Knows Too Much

She never thought that she would encounter someone from her past. Especially not in Coolsville. The two woman had once been something of “best friends” although a more accurate description would be soulmates. But that is a whole different story altogether. Once the two had parted ways, Mercedes had tried to push Tatiana out of her mind and she thought the woman probably did the same. Seeing each other again in such different circumstances has been a rather painful experience on both sides. Mercedes is bombarded with fond memories that seem to thaw the icy edges of her nonexistent heart, while Tatiana is angered by everything that could have been. The two of them are waiting for everything to culminate so that they will just go off on each other and they know once it does certain things cannot be unsaid.

She won awards, scholarships, certificates -- all because of this one talent. The path was set before her and it was up to her to take the first steps in the right direction. The only problem was that she wasn’t entirely sure that she wanted to. There’s something about having her whole life set in front of her that felt wrong, as though she were a puppet that needed her strings cut. Then, late one night she stumbled across a newspaper article. It was one of those things where it seemed like the stars had aligned, as though the Fates themselves had moved the cosmos to make it happen because they had sensed discomfort in her world. The story did something that rarely happened -- it intrigued her. A question that had no answer, a mystery that was seemingly unsolvable. From that one story alone, she could tell that the place had potential. That it had a story that needed proper telling and the only one who could do Coolsville justice was Tatiana Galloway. So she came to town with little more than two suitcases and a tenacity that just wouldn’t quit. Getting a job at the Chronicle was easy and getting into everyone’s business was easier. The problem with a small town like Coolsville? People start to look at you just as much as you look at them.

The Blind Devotee

So she was Mercedes’ replacement -- whether she knew it or not. Tatiana had taken the woman under her wing partially to keep her from wreaking well-meaning havoc and partly because she saw it as an opportunity to forge a new friendship. The two became close, one more so than the other, and have been a solid team ever since. Tatiana is not at all blind to the way Bradley perceives their relationship, but she doesn’t mind. She enjoys the adoration, the adar, and the opportunity to be placed on a pedestal. Although she often times takes advantage of the faithfulness that is placed with her, she protects Bradley more than anyone else in town. There is a certain fractured innocence that she’d do anything to protect -- sorry, that she would do near anything to protect.

Hayden Lynch:

The Most Unholy of Holy Men

She knows he’s connected with Isaac Duchannes. Why a man of God would ever be associated with the Satan of the Streets, she wouldn’t know. But she is very eager to find out. So sometimes she goes into church ( and is surprised each time that she isn’t struck down by lightning ) and pretends to pray, just so she can pester him for her story. Every weekend she has tried and every time she has been shut down. But there is only so much evading that one man can do before his feet get caught in the net -- and nets are easy to weave when a person knows how to weave them out of words. For now she will bide her time and make sure to keep an eye on this man of God. Lest he be dragged to hell before she can get a good story out of him.

He knows of the different kinds of being that pass through the town and reside in it. When he bought his bar, he knew that it would attract the unique crowd that the town had to offer. So he sat back and he worked and he learned and he watched. What he didn’t watch, however, was the group of kids that decided to take matters into their own hands and tip the scales. They ruined the pattern that Coolsville had established, and maybe they had just reasons but Robert, ever the observer, couldn’t help but be infuriated by the disturbance. However he carried on with his work, doing what he did and hoping that the skeletons in his closet wouldn’t be a problem now that the meddling kids decided to stick their nose into everything. Everyone in Coolsville had their secrets, didn’t they? Well, he wasn’t much different. Just because he watched everyone make their mistakes didn’t mean that he didn’t make his own bloody ones too...

The One Who Has  A Long Way To Fall

He was one of the first that Tobias managed to squeeze under his thumb. It actually wasn’t that hard with the kind of record that he had managed to rack up. One rat led to another and that was how Robert Traver landed in Tobias’ lap. He was the eyes and ears of the town – nothing went unnoticed by the man. Now nothing went unnoticed by Tobias. He constantly has to assure Robert that no one will find them, especially not when they meet 20 miles out of town in the ungodly hours of the morning. But Robert is biding his time and waiting for the opportunity to make the self righteous officer pay. Robert is not usually a man of vengeance, but when he is heaven and hell don’t stand a chance. Woe to any that stand in his way and woe to those who incurred his wrath.

The Best Friend Till The Bitter End

He always manages to bring out the rogue in Robert, that Dominic Sinclair. Their relationship is a typical bromance that will last throughout the ages. There have been their little tiffs and fights, but it has only brought them closer. Dominic is the head honcho and Robert is his willing eyes and ears. The only time this has been a detriment is when Tobias got into his head and started pulling at Robert’s strings. His betrayal is forever leaving a bitter taste in his mouth, but what is he to do? Dominic would understand that Robert has more skeletons in his closet than anyone else in the town. After all, bars aren’t bought cheaply. It’s just a matter of time before Tobias, like all other untouched officers, are driven out of town. He’s going to end up in someone’s back pocket soon and once that happens, Robert will be safe. It’s just a matter of riding out this wave of misfortune.

Sally “Thorn” McKnight:

The Costume Wearing Privileged Kid

They don’t like the fact that he looks at them with judging eyes, as though they are showing some sort of disrespect by traipsing as Vampyres for the sake of entertainment. It’s completely frustrating how he seems to be involved in everyone’s business; the eyes and ears of Coolsville are not something that they would like to have prying into their life. But perhaps the reason why they don’t like him so much is because they think he can see right through them. And he can. He can see that they’re merely in his town for the entertainment of it all. They have no respect for everything that goes on around them and are here for the show. If there’s one thing he hate more than the meddlesome kids that seem intent on poking their nose into everyone’s business, it’s the audience that always seems intent on watching.

The kid who had lived in a shack for most of his life was now riding high on the business that Coolsville has provided. Both under the table and over the table sort of business. His autoshop was the only one in town -- which meant it was the only one locals and criminals could turn to -- and his fightclub was unparalleled in the number of members it had -- nevermind that it was the only fightclub in town. There were some who demanded more of him, asked him why he was content to settle in such a small town. They all told him that there was more to the world, that his talents should be put to use elsewhere. But this was his kingdom, a place which he had worked so hard to know the ins-and-outs of, worked so hard to conquer. Although his little castle was quickly becoming more than he could handle. Before, he was content to turn his eyes the other way whenever he saw dirty souls committing dirty deeds. Dominic wasn’t completely without sin on his soul, either, so most considered it a favor when he looked the other way. However, as of late, he finds himself not recognizing certain faces, finds himself checking his back more often than he’d like. With all the new arrivals comes new competition and the King Mechanic is worried about finding himself dethroned.

They had risen from the dirt together. The only difference was that she had been more ambitious than she was and that was their ruin. Or maybe it was his selfishness. When she had left him in search of bigger and better things, he had decided to leave her in the past. Once she left, that was it. She became a ghost to him, as immaterial and nonexistent as the ones that the local investigation gang claimed to hunt. Although she had tried to contact him again and again, Dominic remained obstinate in his belief that a clean break was the best one. The past was a place of ghost and distant memories -- so how was it his fault that she decided to become one of them the day she packed up and left Coolsville? There was one flaw in his brilliant ‘clean break’ plan -- he had never accounted for her coming back. Now that she’s back, he isn’t sure that he’s ready to confront everything that she comes with. Including the memories.

Their friendship is one for the books. The only person that was closer to him used to be Valencia, but when she vacated the position of best partner in crime it was filled by Robert. He was his business partner as well as his roommate. They were brothers in arms and no one would ever try to mess with either of them. Until recently. The new competition in town is proving fickle to deal with, what with the influx of criminals and such. They used to be the Kings of Coolsville but they’re finding that their business is getting slower because of the Lynch brothers. Although they weren’t keen to get their hands dirty, they are willing to do what they have to do in order to make sure that everyone knows what’s theirs...is theirs.

There must be some sort of cosmic joke that Jasper Lynch has not yet realized. He thought he had seen the punchline when his parents revealed that they were hunters. Then he was so sure that the punchline had been understood when his brother, Hayden, decided to abandon the family in favor of a God who thought it necessary to take their parents from them before they were ready. But then he realized that wasn’t the punchline. It couldn’t have been. No, the big laugh had to be that fateful night after the party that was more a haze than a memory -- whenever he tried to recall the party itself all he could remember was artificial euphoria. The series of events that took place after, however, were very much a vivid ( dreadfully so ) memory. How could he not remember the series of unfortunate events that led up to the most cursed moment of his life? It was painfully easy for him to recall how the swamp, mere blocks away from the crowded house, had beckoned to him in his inebriated state. The soft chirps of the creatures that teemed in the waters, the fog that promised to hide him from his own sorrows. Before he knew it, he had traveled deep into the belly of the swamp and his eyes had fallen on the form of a figure bathing. She had turned, as suddenly as if she could feel the weight of his gaze landing on her naked skin -- he was a drunken man, what did she think he would do -- and despite the fact that he was stumbling away he could still feel her words ringing in his ears. The words that, with each syllable that rang from her painted lips, changed each bone in his body, breaking it and remaking it into something horrible. Something nightmarish. Something damned. So then what was a damned creature like him to do except live with the blood on his hands?

The Brothers in Christ

Although they were not brothers by birth, they were just as good as. Hayden’s mother had married Jasper’s father after their former spouses had been killed in a hunt. Hunters tend to keep to themselves and their parents were no exception. Each one had always wanted a sibling, including all the perks and privileges that came with such a thing. Jasper had always believed that blood was thicker than water and when it came to Hayden, well, he believed that blood by choice was the thickest substance in the world. But that belief was blown to smithereens the day that Hayden renounced all his worldly possessions, including his last living family member, in favor of a life devoted to Jesus Christ. Now that Hayden was back and desperately trying to cover the pile of dead bodies that Jasper had incurred, well, those former feelings have been swept under the rug and are going to be dealt with at a later date. 

Henrietta Sasori:

The Hell-Bent Haloed Heaven-Send

The moment that Henry entered the scene seemed to be oddly cued. Hayden moved out, that singularly cursed moment occurred, the bodies piled up, he denied Isaac three times, and then Henry moved right in. The one moment that he felt like he needed a breath of fresh air, she seemed to prance right into his life -- sardonic smile and all, perpetually present. Either way he’s grateful for the companionship that he’s come to associate with her. Light-hearted and easy when the rest of his life most certainly wasn’t. Although he’s seen the red flags ( the odd moments where he finds her watching him, the consistent timing that she has whenever something bad seems on the brink of happening ) he has chosen to most decidedly ignore them. Can you really blame him? One thing after another has happened and these few, breezy moments of lightheartedness and laughter seemed to be few and far between. When he was in college he had heard stories of nightmarish roommates and how awful they were, so was it so wrong to enjoy the one time that seemed to prove everyone wrong?

The Puppeteer with the Bloodied Strings

It was a moment of extreme duress that he turned to the Devil himself and begged them to magically whisk the bodies away. He had heard about Isaac through the grapevine  ( i.e. the numerous connections he had made in college ) and had asked him to hide the first body that he had woken up next to. Then he had called him the time after that. Then the time after that, too.  He hadn’t been aware that each corpse had been a little tally and another debt incurred. Each time Isaac had asked him to settle the debt, the settling price being to essentially become a hitman for Duchannes&Co., Jasper had denied him -- saying that he would find another way to pay his dues. What he didn’t know was that Hayden was doing that for him in a way that a man of God most definitely shouldn’t.

Muffy St.James came into this world with a bang. She was earlier than expected and she had popped out of her mom in a less than ideal place. What she lacked in stature, she made up for with attitude and vocabulary. But beneath all that pomp and bluster, there was something always shuddering inside of her because from the moment she had come into the world, she had been touched by Death. Being born three months early at a funeral does that to a person, it stains their story with darkness. Muffy believed that the Grim Reaper himself had been present at her birth and placed a kiss on her forehead, so that every person who interacts with her could feel that fatal kiss -- the one that she had escaped by some miracle. Or curse. It depended on the person’s perspective. The only people who hadn’t died or faded out of her life were the ones who understood her the most. They were the only ones who saw past all the death that surrounded her and breathed in her life. They turned her cursed reputation into something to be admired, something to be revelled in. Without them, she would not have been able to gather the courage to delve into the aspect of her life that she had been ashamed of. Necromancy was a dark word, was it not? People who heard it automatically assumed that she was just as dead as the entities she hoped to interact with. They did not see the fire in her eyes or the blood that pulsed through her veins, screaming for the adventure and thrill of it all -- not the darkness ( although there was no denying that part was appealing as well ). However, her two sisters thought differently. They were the ones who told her to explore it, to see if perhaps there was something to be gained from her intimate relationship with the dead. What better place to explore her “gifts” than Coolsville?

It was when they were young that all three of them met. Sally was the voice, Luna was the keyboard, and Dusk was the drummer. Everyone who looked at the three of them knew that they just worked. But Sally knew that they did not only work, they harmonized – spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. The three were different enough that they stood out, but it was their differences that complimented and showcased one another. What mattered to Sally, though, was the fact that they all wanted something more out of life. They wanted adventure, they wanted intrigue, they wanted something. Right now, that something happened to be in Coolsville.

The Friends and Allies (?)

They have had a lot of history, that’s for sure. The two groups did not intend to meet and yet fate planned otherwise. After hearing about the gang’s unique skills, they had employed them for help and have remained in contact ever since.  They became fascinated with what Mystery Inc. does and have acquired a taste for “spooky” adventures, which is why they have made their permanent residence in Coolsville. Time and time again the Hex Girls have brought up permanently working with Mystery Inc. but it wasn’t received as enthusiastically as they would have thought. With all the new cases that have piled up, they keep on waiting for Mystery Inc. to swallow their pride and ask for some help – not the help of lessers, but of equals. Yet they are still waiting for that moment, but waiting isn’t their strong suit.

Jasper Lynch:

The Harbinger of Death

She can’t be sure if he is the one that actually brings death or whether it just follows him wherever he goes, dogging his footsteps like a demon clinging to his soul. The two encountered one another while Muffy had been exploring the swamp and he had been "fishing”. The fact that he had no pole, no bait, and no fish seemed a bit problematic to her. Their first encounter had been tense and the rest that followed were just as bad as the first. She had never really been a girl to keep her mouth shut -- however this one time might be the exception. With an aura like his, she knows that she would have to step carefully when dealing with him. Harbinger of death or cause of it, she wants nothing to do with him because if he is connected with her then he is connected with Luna and Thorn. Muffy would rather die than be the one to be the cause of their misfortune -- and Jasper seems to promise nothing but.

This woman was one born of a different age, in a different world. She was something plucked right out of the Old Age and dropped into this one -- the worst part was that she knew it too. When her parents would pick her up and look into her eyes, all they could do was smile sadly at the old soul that peered back at them. They were eyes that knew too much of the horrors of the world, of the nightmares that existed in it. But as she grew older she began to hide that old weariness and replaced it with a facade of gentleness and grace. It was only when she found the other parts that completed her that she was finally able to be herself. They accepted her for who she was and made her feel as if she belonged in this world. How could they not, what with their planetary way of orbiting each other and drawing her into their gravitational pull? They gave her a place and made her a home in a place that seemed more foreign as the years dragged on, one monotonous one replacing the next -- her two counterparts managed to make things easier to bear and made it less hard to simply breathe. But that didn’t keep her from longing for something nameless to fill that void. It wasn’t until she met Mystery Inc. that she thought perhaps the void in her soul could be filled. The moment she laid her world-weary eyes on the small town of Coolsville, that was when she knew that this was where she belonged. Instead of the town’s tales deterring her, they only spurred her on, drawing her into its mysterious lull with its strange stories and nightmarish encounters. The town’s mysteries were sucking her in, as surely as a black hole sucking in the light of a pure, white star.

The Begrudging Mentor

He has entranced her ever since she first laid her eyes on him. Whatever magick he has been holding up his sleeve, she wants to obtain. Luna believes that the spirits have called her to this place just so that she might find herself under his instruction, but Chandler believes otherwise. He thinks that she’s in it for the theatrics and the glamour that comes with the title. She knows what he thinks which is why she’s determined to prove him wrong. The problem is that she is reluctant to tell her sisters where she sneaks off to every night. Although she knows that they won’t judge her, there is this doubt that they will support her. It would get in the way of their career -- but the calling to become a witch is so much stronger than the cheap calling of playing her instrument on stage.

They always knew they were meant to be something more. The moment they opened their mouth they, and their parents, knew that they were destined for something beyond the ordinary. Their voice was something of legend, perhaps the sort of legends where men drowned themselves because they were so enticed by it. But note that they wanted something beyond ordinary. Not out of the ordinary -- which is to say that it is the same level as ordinary, just a different sphere of it -- no, they were meant for something beyond it.  Sally just didn’t know what ‘it’ was until they met the people that completed them. Their counterparts, people who were just as determined to seek the Beyond as they were. Once the three met, they were inseparable and as harmonious as the seasons. It was as if the gifts the gods had bestowed them with were made twice as apparent when they the two girls. The moment the Hex Girls ( they didn’t mind the name -- they were the Hex and the others were the Girls ) held their first performance, they were all joined as one. But then occurred the fateful day that Sally met Mystery Inc. It was at a time when they had felt that there was something definitive lacking, despite more or less having it all. They had the fans, they had the voice, they had the life. But then they realized what was missing: the excitement and adventure of it all. For a famous band that dressed like Vampyres, one would think that life couldn’t be more exciting. However, the Beyond that they were looking for as a child? It couldn’t be found anywhere else except with Mystery Inc. and they weren’t willing to let that go. What was life without a little chaos and mayhem except -- something that they truly despised -- ordinary?

It was when they were young that all three of them met. Sally was the voice, Luna was the keyboard, and Dusk was the drummer. Everyone who looked at the three of them knew that they just worked. But Sally knew that they did not only work, they harmonized -- spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. The three were different enough that they stood out, but it was their differences that complimented and showcased one another. What mattered to Sally, though, was the fact that they all wanted something more out of life. They wanted adventure, they wanted intrigue, they wanted something. Right now, that something happened to be in Coolsville.

The Annoyance

They don’t like the fact that he looks at them with judging eyes, as though they are showing some sort of disrespect by traipsing as Vampyres for the sake of entertainment. It’s completely frustrating how he seems to be involved in everyone’s business; the eyes and ears of Coolsville are not something that they would like to have prying into their life. But perhaps the reason why they don’t like him so much is because they think he can see right through them. They don’t like that maybe he can see things that they can’t even see in themselves. If there’s one thing that makes Sally grind their teeth, it’s the thought of someone knowing better than them. It takes the wonder out of everything, it sucks the fun right out of life -- and although they dress as Vampyres, they aren’t really a huge fan of sucking..

People tend to assume that just because she has the brains, it means that she has no passion. Women are either smart and cold or vivacious and ditzy. To be a female that is both passionate and intelligent was an idea that, to this day, Coolsville has found a bitter pill to swallow. So when they think of Velma Dinkley they think of her within the scope of their own understanding. To them she is a robot that takes in information and then spits it back out for the sake of solving. What they don’t understand is that she has always had an intense love for knowledge, for learning. Velma has always wanted to acquire a wisdom that would rival Solomon’s, or Athena's. She wanted wit that was just as clever as Odysseus’ or Penelope’s. Everyone looked at her and they saw the girl with the brains, someone who is rather passionless but exceedingly intelligent. Velma looked at herself and saw someone who lusted for knowledge and would never be satisfied until she consumed it all. That sort of veracity was something that usually intimidated or frightened others. But not the Mystery Inc. gang, they accepted her and encouraged her love for learning. They taught her how to utilize it to benefit others. Every mystery she has ever solved has been like a trophy to add to her personal shelf. However, the ones they aren’t able to solve come back and haunt her. They are there lurking at the edges of her sleep, the victims of the cases waking her from her nightmares with their cold, forgotten fingers. At first she accepted this defeat, she resigned herself to the fact that it is impossible to solve every case. Life wasn’t a tale to filled with gods and goddesses and halo-wearing heroes. It was filled with demons and disappointments. But now that she finds herself haunted at night by the souls they failed, in an all too real manner, when she closes her eyes she doesn’t just see men in masks anymore. She sees the real monsters too.

The Family

They all met when they were freshmen in high school. None of them were in the same social circles, none of them had the same classes, and none of them had the least bit of interest in the other before that fateful night. But after they solved their first mystery, something just kept on bringing the group together again. It was an inexplicable draw that none of them seemed to be able to fight. Now, they are more than friends – and anyone who looks at the way they interact with one another would never mistake them as anything less than family. What a family they make, too; four social misfits coupled with an anxiety-ridden Great Dane that has the appetite of an army. There are many strange things that occur in the world and many beautiful things too. Mystery Inc? It’s a little bit of both.

They have had a lot of history, that’s for sure. The two groups did not intend to meet and yet fate planned otherwise. After hearing about the gang’s unique skills, they had employed them for help and have remained in contact ever since.  They became fascinated with what Mystery Inc. does and have acquired a taste for “spooky” adventures, which is why they have made their permanent residence in Coolsville. Now, Velma has always been a big fan of the Hex Girls. She enjoys the fact that there are others in the world who are able to divulge in a life of intrigue, murder, and mystery as much, maybe even more so, as the gang does. But the problem is, is that this is their whole life. It’s not cut out for everyone and, although she hates to admit it, she doesn’t believe that the Hex Girls will be able to hack it. She supports Fred’s desire to keep the two groups separate. Velma has seen a lot of people’s desires become their ruin -- and she would hate for the Hex Girls to be added to that list. 

Tobias Rivas:

The Blind Servant of the Law

Now, Velma has always had a problem with authority despite what most people might assume. It’s a frustrating thing, to be addressed so condescendingly by people who think that they are her better. What, just because you wear a badge you suddenly think that justice is on your side? More often than not she has seen the “law” be more detrimental to a case than helpful. Whenever the meatheaded badge-wearing Tobias shows up at Mystery Inc HQ she always has to bite her tongue to keep herself from making bitingly sarcastic quips. More than once she has felt that a case could’ve been solved had it not been for his interference. She knows that he’s just after them because they’re doing his job better than he can. Justice may be blind but that doesn’t mean the people who carry it out have to be.

Not only is it a complete and utter mystery as to how Shaggy got involved with the gang, it is, and will always be, a mystery as to why he doesn’t just up-and-leave whenever they get a new case. But then, at the end of every case, he is reminded of the importance of the work that they do. There was nothing like the sense of satisfaction a person got after having completed a near-impossible task with the people that you love. Not even a three-stacked pancake sandwich with pickles and twinkies on top could give him the same joy as solving a case or reuniting a family did. When he was a kid, this wouldn’t have been the job of his choice. In fact, no job would have been the ideal one. Shaggy could have afforded it too, coming from such an affluent background. But being surrounded by such motivated people, seeing their fearlessness, made him want more from life. He knew that he could never be fearless like Daphne, he knew that he could never be smart like Velma, or as inspiring as Fred. That was okay with him because he knew that all he would ever need to be was himself. A better version of himself would be ideal, of course, but still . Scooby was the one who reassured him that he would always be enough for the gang. His perseverance was all that they would ever ask of him and he would give it again and again, no matter how many foes he had to face. However, Shaggy can feel his perseverance wavering. He can feel it begin to flicker and fret – a fact which is frustrating him to no end. It wasn’t often he became angry and yet here he was -- for once, trying and, as expected, failing. The enemies that they were facing were becoming numerous and they were sinking their claws into his friends, they were wearing them thin. Now, he may not be brave when it comes to facing down the numerous monsters they encounter, but when it comes to his friends? Well, he doesn’t need a Scooby Snack to motivate him to do anything he can to save them.

The Devil-May-Care Masquerader 

Now Shaggy gets frightened of plenty of things -- everyone knows this. They’ve grown exasperated of the constant stammers and stares that occur whenever he enters the room. But this time he knows that there’s something up with this woman. He can’t place why she seems so unnervingly familiar, but that shouldn’t discredit the chill that seems to set on his skin whenever she comes to the Mystery Inc. HQ, poking her nose in places it doesn’t seem to belong. Everyone turned their backs to Noah when he had told them all about the great deluge that was going to destroy everyone and everything. Now everyone was turning their backs to Shaggy whenever he warned them that their new intern was going to destroy everything and everyone that they cared about. But, hey, Noah managed to save everyone that he cared about. Maybe Shaggy could do the same too.

The Friends

The Hex Girls and Mystery Inc. have had a long history together. The Hex Girls had called on the gang for help and ever since then the two have remained in contact. They are fascinated with what Mystery Inc. does and have acquired a taste for “spooky” adventures, which is why they have made their permanent residence in Coolsville. Shaggy knows that they seem to be comfortable ( in his opinion, a bit too comfortable ) with the whole murder and mystery deal that seems to always arise whenever Mystery Inc. set on a case. So he believes that if they’re comfortable with it then they should be fine with joining the gang. But he is also aware that Fred isn’t the biggest fan of the Hex Girls getting together with the group. While it would be nice to have other people protect him from the monsters that always seem to dog his steps at night, Shaggy is more than happy with keeping the group small and -- more importantly -- spooky-free.
