Adam had been out on the beach playing when it happened.
He had never seen a wind storm this bad before, and had certainly never seen one that had kicked up so quickly, unleashing what was either a water spout or whirlpool, with something falling through and caught in the torrents.
Despite the high winds, he had rushed over into the waves, wrapping his arms around whatever it was to get it free. Upon second glance, it wasn’t so much a something as a someone, though he’d never seen anything like them before.
He picked them up and carried them to the shore, laying them down on the sand and shrugging off his jacket to cover them up with. It was cold in the water at this time of year, the wind certainly not helping matters, and he was sure the warmer they were, the sooner they’d wake up.
About a minute or so later, he got his wish.
The little boy smiled down at the other, moving back a little to give some more space, grateful that the wind had stopped for the time being.
“My name’s Adam,” he introduced himself, “what’s your name? Are you okay?”

A round of coughs ocurred, the creature sprawled across the sand spitting out the salty water of the sea. His eyes stared up at the sky groggily, squinting at it as if it were some sort of map. There was a pause, and the hedgehog flopped over, lying on his stomach and lifting his gaze to glance around. He didn’t see anything familiar... THOUGH HE SUPPOSED BEING SECONDS AWAY FROM A WATERY DEATH DIDN’T HELP THINGS.
It wasn’t long, though, in his lapse of disorientated confusion, until he took notice of the boy before him. Weird. What was he doing here? Humans didn’t really live in this area... not to his knowledge anyway.
He stared at the other with a curious yet deadpan expression, but this was more likely due to his situation than the individual. Noting the jacket around him, the fact he was alive right now, and this kid... had he been RESCUED? Lying there a moment, the blue blur pondered what to say - or whether to say ANYTHING.
He sluggishly pulled himself upright, sitting on his knees as he observed his surroundings, SILENT the entire time. Then -
❝ ...Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog, ❞ he started. ❝ And I’m fine. I’ve dealt with worse in Chemical Plant Zone - ❞
❝ - wait. ❞ And Sonic rose to his feet in a flash. ❝ ROBOTNIK. Where’s Robotnik?! ❞
