Two out of three was the proper response, the one she had been looking for. It would have brought a grin to her features if the bit about bodily harm hadnât been quite so disappointing. War was far too accustomed to being followed by death, her sister would have called this very conversation a travesty. The thought alone though, that did the trick. It finally coaxed her grin out, after that slow turn of her head.Â
âRules are on you, sweetheart. I donât have very many.â There was a reason she didnât - considering she didnât die, and every scar sheâd earned in battle was just another war wound she was proud of. It was strange for most, some didnât even try to understand, but that never had bothered her.Â
She narrowed her eyes at the lack of rules. She was used to them out of a sparring setting like this, but that was when her life was on the line. Despite her knowledge in fighting, Coralie was not often the one to set the rules. But, if the other woman didnât seem interested in establishing any boundaries, then who was she to do such a thing? She could handle herself well enough in a fight.
âNo fatal bodily harm then, thatâs alright with me. Letâs do this. Three second pin count as the end of a round, or are we going with whoever cries uncle?â Was that a rule? Did it even matter? How were they supposed to do two out of three if that wasnât established. She brushed the thoughts aside. They didnât matter yet, but they would in a moment. Coralie elected not to ask further, a potentially stupid move. âWeâll go on your start.â
âI would never,â she rebutted. âRegret the fight I mean. Iâm not a spoilsport. Even a lost fight is a fight worth having.â There was an easygoing grin on her face as she slowly circled around the fighting area. Sarah stretched her shoulder as Coralie spoke then rolled her head back and around. Sarah squared-up her eyes dead set on Coralie. âAny rules we should establish?â Sarah was used to no rules, all survival. Whether they were dealing with humans or the supernatural, the wolf pack showed little mercyâ or thatâs how theyâd like to think of it. Sarah recognized their actions for what they wereâ feral and stupid. Still, Sarah had picked up a couple useful tricks.
âThat would be a good trick but no. Iâm a werewolfâ if that changes your mind about fighting.â She pursed her lips. âDo I get to know your magic trick as well?â
âWhat an interesting philosophy to have. I donât think many would agree with you.â She had a rather hard time doing so as well. Lost fights often meant dead, and that she just couldnât see as worth it in any regard. âMaybe donât try and take off a limb or anything of that nature? I would like to be able to walk out of here on my own after the fightâs over and as much as some of the dirtier moves can be fun, I donât have any sort of accelerated healing. What I get it what I deal with.â
She lifted an eyebrow at the admission of her species. If it had been her, sheâd have kept it to herself to use for an advantage. âI havenât fought too many of you, but Iâm certainly familiar. No magic trick or anything particularly exciting. For all intents and purposes, Iâm mostly regular, aside from living past my natural expiration date and having years of practice.â
âYou never had a toe curling orgasm so good that you were sure your entire soul was being sucked out of your clit or something? That whole thing isnât extremely unpleasant. Unless you hate pleasure.â He watches her sip at her coffee and he feels bad at her. He needs the caffeine. And sure, there are other places in town, but none with the waffles and crispy bacon. âOh shit! Youâd go full blown Academy Award for me? I think I can get behind that. I donât really give a fuck about what the council thinks of me. But a nice little presentation could really put me over the edge.â He shakes his head with a laugh. âGood looking out, Coralie.âÂ
It was a horrific fight not to choke violently on her coffee at his joke. Was it a joke? The coughing fit that followed was certainly one for the history books. When she regained her composure she shook her head at him. âIâm sure I have at some point, but Iâm a little too familiar with feeling other peopleâs souls get sucked out of their bodies to see it as a fun time,â Coralie explained. âI mean, if what just happened counted after a bit of dramatics, then sure! I could place myself really strategically, like a person just in the moment, choking on horrible coffee. I think this is a story we could sell. Maybe theyâd just get so annoyed, theyâd fix it to shut us up.â
Sarah kept her distance from the heavy gym machines. With her body parallel to the ground, she started a round of push-ups. One, two, three⌠ten, twenty⌠On and on she went quickly losing track of her progress. In the back of her head, Sarah wondered if there was such a point to training when she was a god-damned werewolf.Â
Up in a perfect push up, a voice broke the silence. Sarah looked up, meeting eyes with the woman. Wordlessly, Sarah stood up and rolled her shoulders as she approached the woman. âIâve got no problem with sparing so long as you donât go easy on me.â Her arms crossed over her chest as she started to size up the woman.Â
âYou might regret that after you hit the floor,â she said, slipping into the banter easily. At least, she considered it banter, maybe the other didnât. Still, the grin that stretched her lips was unmistakable. âCome on up here then, I wonât go easy on you in the slightest. I should warm you though, fighting is kind of my life,â she said, standing back so that she could come and join her in the ring. This would certainly be interesting.
âIs this where you tell me youâre some sort of gifted human who can see the future and so you know that somehow Iâm going to lose this fight without it even starting?â
âLook, I appreciate a shitty cup of coffee as much as the next person. It really makes you feel alive, you know? But this is almost undrinkable. I feel like my soulâs leaving my body with every sip. Which isnât as fun as it might sound.â Even as he continues to talk about how terrible it is, he takes another sip. He doesnât bother hiding his grimace as it slides down his throat. âIf someone wonât stand up for the residents of Folie at this travesty, then I might have to. You wonât second me?â Putting down the mug, he wipes a hand on his pants before extending his hand. âVic.â
âI canât imagine my soul leaving my body as anything but extremely unpleasant,â she pointed out, happily taking another sip of the brown toxic sludge. It was incredibly sweet, but she could also taste the burnt aftertaste and feel the grit of grounds in her teeth. Delicious. âCoralie. I havenât ever spoken to the council, not sure something like this would make a very good impression on my behalf. Although, if you need me to, I would be extremely willing to throw myself onto the ground in horror if you need help selling the truly awful quality.â
Devya spent the majority of her time in the arena. It was the one place that felt familiar, the battle that still lingered there was enough to ease her tension, to calm the demand for a fight that rattled her bones. Perhaps it would have been wise for the other, rather mouthy, girl to have taken heed to exactly who - and what - she was challenging, but it didnât matter. A fight was one thing she would never turn down, even if it did run the risk of ended with yet another stern warning from the council about her familyâs tendency toâŚmisplaceâŚsome rescues.
âOne, or two out of three?â She asked, hoping that she went with the last option rather than the first. After all, it was far more appealing to at least let your opponent think they had a chance before you stole victory from them.
Coralie lifted an eyebrow, not expecting compliance to her request so easily. It seemed as if most people liked to be left alone and so sheâd assumed that it would be the same at Folie, with people wanting to do their own thing and so her calling them out in the middle of the gym... it would be an inconvenience to most. The fact that the woman before her was so willing so quickly made her consider her answer carefully before tipping her head to one side.Â
âI can handle two out of three. I think itâll be a wonderful challenge.â Especially if she was so willing to fight more than once. Coralie was used to fighting in a battle session, it had been a while since she sparred for fun and not for her life. âAre we setting rules aside from no fatal bodily harm?â
Coralie had forgotten how good it felt to just train. Not to fight, but just to train and know that she was bettering herself. Lifting weights, working on her muscles, it was simply relaxing in a way that a lot of other things wouldnât be. Eventually though, she found herself just looking at the sparring area. It was a thing of beauty, wholly tempting and eventually she just couldnât stop herself. However, she certainly couldnât do anything on her own. So, she looked around for the first person she could find and called out, a large grin on her sweaty face.Â
âHey you! Spar with me, huh? Come on, Iâll even go easy on you,â she joked, hoping she could entice them, even for just one round.Â
The woman sat by the sidelines, an unlit cigarette between her fingers. She was fiddling with it, clearly having no experience holding one, and lighting one was even higher up on the list of âno experienceâ for her. One arm was across her torso as if hugging her form, pitch black hues gazing around the town before her.
âIâve been here for how long now, yet I still feel like Iâm a new arrival for all the things I still have yet to find out about this town.â Ro mused, mostly to herself, currently unaware of the other figure within earshot.
The cigarette then moved places, now resting between her red lips despite its unlit state. She didnât really seem to mind it anyway, she didnât bring a lighter, and she wasnât much of a smoker as well. Why she bought a whole pack of the sticks was unbeknownst to her. âI should really get out more, this town really is something else.â
âWell, that makes me feel a little better,â Coralie commented, coming across the other woman mostly on accident. Sheâd assumed she was being spoken to, but thinking back on it, the relaxed demeanor made her wonder if perhaps she was just thinking out loud. âIâve been here for not that long and I feel bad about not knowing a lot about the town. good to know Iâm not the only one.â
She pulled her lighter out of her pocket, holding it out with a raised eyebrow. She didnât smoke herself, only carried around the lighter because of her older sister. Those memories still seemed intact. âDo you need a lighter? Or are you just going to get a good taste of filter paper in your mouth?â
âAlright, is no one going to talk about how the diner changed its coffee and somehow, itâs worse?â Vic looks up from his mug with a grimace. He swishes the liquid around his mouth before swallowing. âCan we report this to someone? You think the council will take me seriously?â He looks up at the person close enough to him before offering a shrug.Â
âI donât know, maybe itâs just because I havenât been here for very long, but I donât particularly see it as a problem. Itâs perfectly good, dirt coffee.â She was half joking, half not. She added so much sugar to her coffee that she couldnât really taste how bad it was, but who knew. Maybe the coffee before had been better. âEverything Iâve heard about this council would suggest no go.â
[CORALIE LYON] shares our delusions. They are [UNKNOWN], they are a [BANSHEE] who looks just like [TRISTIN MAYS]. They are a [RESCUE]. While they might be [AMBITIOUS], sometimes they get [RECKLESS]. They are a [SUB] in bed, and [HOMOSEXUAL]. They are into [COLLARS & KNEELING] and want a [DOM] partner.
oops! It me again, hereâs Coralie! Eventually, her bio will be here. but for now, letâs get into the tldr.
Bio
Tbh her childhood was not that bad! She grew up with her older sister and parents, all three of whom were gifted humans. They were a pretty happy family, all fighters who were fully ready to fight in battles and defend themselves and others.
Things got fucked when her sister died. That was the first person sheâd been close to in life who died, which triggered her Voice.Â
When someone sheâs emotionally connected to dies, she basically screams and then collapses from the energy expenditure.Â
She was like??? and her mother told her it was her great grandmother who was a banshee in their family. Sheâs the one who told Coralie about when the scream would happen.
She started to get used to how it worked, sheâd scream, sheâd find out who died, etc.Â
Eventually sheâd died in a battle of her own but Margeaux resurrected her in exchange for letting her go.
So, she woke up, was told sheâd gotten injured in battle and that she had retrograde amnesia. Seemed legit considering her memories seemed mostly like they just had bits and pieces missing, but she didnât know what they were.
As time went on, she continued to fight until battles made her grow weary. She still wanted to fight, but she needed something more, she just couldnât figure it out.Â
So she started traveling! She was also trying to not get emotionally connected to anyone as she wanted to stop the scream from happening as much as she could. Eventually she came upon Folie.
Once she got there, things felt better. She just didnât feel as tired and something about it made it feel like it was just where she was supposed to be.
Sheâs hoping that once she gets a sponsor and shares her memories, maybe the memories sheâd lost would be passed on and then sheâd know them. She thinks itâll make things better but damn if only she knew.Â
Possible Connections/Interactions
People she mightâve met on her travels only to find out they both ended up in Folie! Coralie did a shit ton of traveling. Who knows, maybe on your museâs way to Folie, they happened to run into her, only to see her again in the city.
Another banshee who might be able to help her figure out being a banshee. Sheâs been doing it for a while, but had almost no guidance going into it. Girl needs some help.
The person who killed someone she mightâve screamed for. Gimme this angst. Maybe your character has changed their ways and feels bad, maybe not. They donât need to know them but maybe thereâs a recognition, seeing them in battle, killing someone, hearing her scream, and then seeing her again in the city.
Sparring partners. The fight might tire her, but that doesnât mean sheâs going to stop any time soon. She needs someone to fight.Â
????  ¯\_(ă)_/ÂŻ iâll take anything pls lemme write with her. in fact, hmu if you want a starter
