Listen Wolfboy, I love you but this is a black tie event, a prestigious award ceremony. Would it kill you to throw on a suit?! I should have known no good would come from falling for the guy who walks around with "ALPHA" on his chest ever day.

So I've been using the tea party to do some diamond mining.

And I played Queen in 30 days first and thought God this is awful (shoutout the Season 3 for the truly mind blown levels of WTF-ness).

So when I finished that I moved on to My Hollywood Story and I thought it couldn't possible be worse and somehow it really was and really wasn't at the same time. It was truly the most chaotic thing I've ever experienced. The multiple murder plots and crime drama that go nowhere, the weird love interests who disappear for whole seasons and then just pop back in, SO. MANY. CHARACTERS, that one chapter where I just learn everyone's hobbies and the off-the-wall choices my MC makes because of the "path" shes on. My MC was on the Romance path and in so many crisis situations her go to move was just seducing the nearest person, I'm dead.

But ultimately lots of very welcome diamonds for when the next chapters drop for Dracula, Sins of London and Legend of the Willow.

I feel like this account is just going to be me posting screenshot from Romamce Club for a while but I can't help it they are just so pretty and I haven't enjoyed stories this much since Storyscapes disappeared.

I finally downloaded Romance Club and it's hooked me in good!

I read Season 1 of Dracula in a day and every second was moody and gothic and I'm pretty sure that Vlad is entering my Fictional Love Interests Hall of Fame.

I really didn't care that the English was occasionally a bit off and the tenses were all over the place! 10/10 would recommend.

So the Love Island Game has gone into complete meltdown huh? No season 4 and a bunch of the staff fired? Not even the first time they've fired a bunch of the creatives, remember halfway through s2 when they lost a bunch of staff and the whole story completely changed?

I wish I had the detective skills of someone like Sarah Z (have you seen the latest Homestuck video? So good!), I really need to know what is actually happening over at that apparent dumpster fire!

I've finally finished Netflix' Bridgerton. Getting through it was a terrible and disappointing trial.

To see one of my favourite book series turned into this is just crushing.

I've been trying to figure out why it disappoints me so much and it really comes down to 5 key things...

1. All the characters are considerably less likeable than the are on the page.

2. They added in superfluous new storyline which serve to do nothing but slow the story down allowing them to pad it out into as many episodes as they could and creating many more moments for me to be bored

3. They sacrificed humour in favour of drama. The number one thing that the Quinn books are is laugh out loud funny. The Bridgertons are witty and smart and their interactions as a family are a joy. The scene where Daphne accidentally suggests Simon is impotent on their wedding night is so funny and is sorely missed.

4. They try to be feminist but in doing so they Rob the female characters of all their strength and agency. In place of taking meaningful action and being well rounded characters they just come across as catty and a bit stupid.

5. This series comes across as being adapted and directed by someone who neither understands nor likely the historical romance genre. At every attempt to use any tropes of the genre they fall into a type of parody that feels mocking. They would clearly prefer to be doing a modern piece and feel that all the time period has to offer are costumes and carriages.

Seeing the Bridgerton series adapted in this manner leaves me not only disappointed that I didn't get to see a well-realised version of these stories but also that it is the end of any chance of seeing any of my other favourites adapted with any heart. I envisioned a future of Eloisa James' Desperate Duchesses and Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove that I feel have been lost to me as well.

I really do get why they are focusing on adding new people/storylines but if my husbands don't return soon there will be rioting. 😭🤣

I got a notification today saying that a batch of new people have been released but none of my matches have come back online and I don't seem to be matching with anyone new so I cant see any new stories?

Is anyone else getting new matches or people coming back online?
